Vampire Dossier: Lazarus Horrigan
Authored by: Atticus Stratlace
Overview:
Information on this creature is unfortunately scant. He’s deeply tied to the Banite Church, apparently a clergy man with some skill. That Bane would tolerate such vile abominations in His church speaks a lot for the nature of this deity.
Reclusive, Horrigan is rarely seen outside the church walls and sticks close to the other Banites. He’s known to have a fondness for combat, and duelling – which is where much of the information here comes from. In all other aspects, he seems quite bland.
Appearance:
A human male, wearing black and green robes, with a black cowl with chains wrapped about it. Staff with an emerald focus upon the top. I have only seen him in brief passing, and always with something concealing his face.
History:
The most notable event of Lazarus’s time on Arelith is his involvement in the Minmir Undead crisis, where apparently he and some other clergy of Minmir used the ‘Icon of Hate’ to weaken the magic around Minmir that bound Manfried and his undead there, causing chaos across the isle.
Nothing is known of his past before the isle, though apparently he claims to have been around for many centuries. He claims that he is a ‘creation made by the black hand Himself.’ His time on the isle is mostly wrapped up in the comings and goings of the Minmir congregation. I have not heard him to act independently of them.
Some small notational highlights of his history on Arelith include:
*Fought Edita – a lovitarian priestess, and won.
*Was apparently killed and ‘eaten’ by some spider druids at one point
*Fought in a Dis arena with [Redacted] and lost.
*Talked to Eduard Helbrecht and showed extensive knowledge of blood magic- though apparently not a blood mage himself.
*Worked a little with both Lucretia and Adelyn Belle’rose for a time. At one point Lucretia was apparently his ‘secretary.’
Other Notes:
*Skilled in necromancy, fond of using undead and the spell ‘Harm’ – described as a priest who works by defiling the natural order.
*Can be countered by ‘Undeath’s Eternal Foe’ and is not well protected with heal spells
*In addition to animating undead, he’s also been known to summon Yuggololths.
*There was a rumour that the insane woman Eppi is/was enthralled to him. Unsure of validity of such.
*When questioned about Lazarus, the vampire Lucretia was very coy, and, dare I say, teasing? On it’s own not enough to be sure, but with all the other witness statements it validated that they did work together.
