Introduction
The following is a detailed report of the events leading up to and including the actual use of The Weatherstone by agents of The Iron Throne. This report is written by Treasurer Samantha Goodman of Guldorand and reviewed by Druid Dregan Young of The Heartwood Grove with corrections and additions made as noted by the former

The Iron Throne and the Weatherstone, Pt.1
There seems to be a fair bit of confusion about what happened between the Iron Throne and Guldorand, regarding the Weatherstone. I handled a fair part of the matter, so I'll speak on it.
Archmage Yusmena is the new leading Archmage of the Arcane Tower. She is also an Archmage within the Iron Throne's organization, and was trusted with the task of using the Weatherstone to keep their ships safe. The Iron Throne is moving to Fortress Guldorand, and is one of the Founding Council members, meaning they contributed to the City's formation.
To this end Yusmena reached out to Guldorand's government, and Samantha and myself were available at the time. The situation was explained thus: The Iron Throne's wealth and citizenry were all on a fleet of ships headed for the City. They had suffered losses already, and intended to ensure this last leg of their journey would be met with success, using every tool at their disposal. Their mages had divined strong storms in the coming month that would cost them further, and they sought to use the Weatherstone to prevent them.
Yusmena intended to only inform us of the event. I insisted that we have a presence there, that we oversee the proceedings, and that Yusmena understand that we consider the Weatherstone to be nearly sacred. Her usage of it would be only as needed for the month, not a month-long drought as many feared. She stated she would be the only one to use it, would be fine with us being present so long as we didn't interfere, and offered a mercenary's wage since we expected to help them push back the Talassians. It was countered that I would be permitted to be present right at the stone, to take over if she was unable to use it properly. This was agreed upon, and we set off.

The Iron Throne and the Weatherstone, Pt.2
At the Weatherstone, Yusmena initially used the Stone to repel a gathering storm, as expected and agreed upon. She then broke her agreement with us, allowing her unnaamed (so far as I know) apprentice to use the Weatherstone, intending it as a teaching moment. There were objections from all around, and Yusmena continued to coach her through forcing the Weatherstone to yield to her will. She was able to, and while we continued to object, she largely ignored us. It didn't feel like the time for forceful action at that point, but when the apprentice stated she would 'apply her specialty', revealed to be flooding the Weatherstone with negative energy, we moved to stop the procedure.
I inspected the Weatherstone, found it was capable of handling what was done to it, and reacted by applying an entropic effect to the surrounding area. Complete stillness, no weather movement at all. It was corrected to a more natural state of dryness while still allowing for normal weather patterns. Yusmena was verbally reprimanded for breaking her word that she would be the only one to handle the Weatherstone. When it was pointed out that she risked the ships with her actions, she waved it off, saying one of us could have corrected it, refusing to see fault in her actions.
There was a fight afterwards, but I left afterwards, drained from my divinations. Samantha and Dregan are the ones to ask on other parts of the matter.

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 11th Uktar 168
On the 11th of Uktar I received a message from Archmage Yusmena that The Iron Throne would be needing the use of The Weatherstone on the 13th of Uktar, and that she would like to meet with Mayor Dora Goodman to alleviate all concerns so that things might go smoothly. Dora was not available, but Magistrate Angela Amana and myself were available, to meet and we were able to summon Dregan Young of the Grove as well. Additionally, First Ranger Olissa and Shield Avalri were able to accompany us as experts on The Skull Crags and representatives of The Shields of Guldorand.
During this meeting we were told that a storm had been predicted through divination and they would need to use The Weatherstone to interrupt this storm for the safety of the ship(s) that were on the way. We reiterated and agreed that this would be a minimal impact use of The Weatherstone and offered our help in its use. The Archmage agreed to let us accompany them as observers and would accept our help if need arose. She intended to use minimal forces, herself one apprentice and a handful of soldiers as she expected some possible interference from Tallassians in the area. We were asked and offered the use of Shields to help keep the Tallassians away. Several members of the grove appeared at the meeting and almost immediately began issuing thinly veiled threats and insults at The Archmage and The Iron Throne. Several attempts were made to explain to them the needs of The Iron Thone, but those mostly fell on deaf ears.
As the meeting was wrapping up I returned to Guldorand to gather any Shields that were able to help.
*A brief note to include here regarding Yusmena - at the time of this conversation it was just learned that she was now the current Archmage of the Arcane Tower, as well as working for The Iron Throne and being a Thayan. An addendum will be included at the end of this report with information concerning her.

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 13th Uktar 168 pt1
Early on the 13th of Uktar Shields and members of Guldorands government made their way to The Weatherstone. Known people present included:
Treasurer Samantha Goodman, Magistrate Angela Amana, Instructor Lyria Ashevane, Druid Dregan Young, Shield Sergeant Sera Danelle, Shield Sign Thorin, Warden Arnbjorn, First Ranger Olissa, Shield Avalri, Archdruid Burin, Birch of The Grove, Gallen of The Grove and several other unknown members of The Grove. Late to arrive was Shield Sergeant Talek. Upon arrival the Iron Throne offered minor compensation for the use of shields to help keep the Tallassians away (a total of 7,500 coin), which was accepted in observation of the mercenary culture we were working with.
The operation began as planned with minor control of The Weatherstone, a storm at sea was interrupted, performed by Archmage Yusmena. There were some minor comments and insults from the grove as expected but nothing too much. Observers which included Angela, Dregan, Burin and all the other grove members watched carefully while the Shields moved to the Uppermountain to watch for Tallassians.

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 13th Uktar 168 pt2
At some point later more control was needed on The Weatherstone and The Archmage asker her apprentice to perform the task. At first the apprentice was not able to interact with the stone and as some objections were being raised by members of the grove, Angela Amana and myself over comments by Yusmena to force will upon the stone, the apprentice made the stone yield to her will. While no immediate damage or danger was observed we noticed a sudden oddity in the weather. Angela Amana made a thorough inspection of The Weatherstone and found that it had taken on some entropy from the apprentices close connection to necromantic magic. Immediate objections were raised and Archmage Yusmena yielded to demands that Angela re-adjust The Weatherstone and set things back to normal with it, removing the negative association it had picked up while also keeping the storm quelled. This was done and over within minutes. At this time Achemage Yusmena and her apprentice left willingly, only leaving two Iron Throne mercenaries behind to make sure that The Weatherstone was left as is for the next 18 hours to guarantee the ships were out of harms way.
Most of the shields and other people left at this time leaving myself, Sera Danelle, Dregan, Burin, Birch, Galen, Arnbjorn, Shield Avalri, Shield Sign and a few other grove members at the stone.

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 13th Uktar 168 pt3
After Yusmena left, I offered to sit with Archdruid Burin and Dregan and explain all our interactions with The Iron Throne as well as answer any questions they might have, but instead Burin walked over to The Weatherston said a few words and then altered the weather against what we had been agreed upon. He then cast a stonehold spell and transformed into a dragon. In the dragon shape he attacked The Iron Throne mercenaries, killing them. Once free of the stonehold spell I made for The Weatherstone to re-adjust the weather and keep the storm quelled as agreed upon, but I was immediately attacked by Birch and knocked out. Sera came and revived me, and I told Sera to leave and get help. Sera then tried to step away out of the action to go get help, but Birch chased her down knocking her out too. At this time I was yelling for everyone to stop the insanity but several of them kept fighting and attacking intermittently. During these intermittent attacks I was able to gain control of The Weatherstone and quell the storm.
Eventually Talek and more shields showed back up and the fighting stopped. Birch was told she was exiled from Guldorand for attacking a shield and a member of the government and showing no remorse or care that she did so without reason. She said she did not care. After the peace lasted for an hour or so people again began leaving. I offered again to talk to the people of the grove and this time some of them agreed to listen. Burin stayed for a short while, apologized to me that things had gotten so out of hand and said he would like to work to fix what Birch had done. He expressed his care for Dora and Guldorand and said that he knew we were good people. He then took his leave.

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 13th Uktar 168 pt4
Ultimately what was explained to those that remained was this: We saw more opportunity to ensure a positive outcome by working with The Iron Throne and helping them while at the same time working to manage the balance and safe responsible use of The Weatherstone, rather than by refusing to work with them, fighting them, and then pushing them further into a corner where they would use their still vast capabilities to get their way.
As I finished explaining this to the people that remained and answering their questions (as well as correcting numerous incorrect interpretations that they had made) Archmage Yusmena returned with perhaps twenty mercenaries. She explained that they had done some more divinations and were anticipating that the use of The Weatherstone would be required only one more time. She also said she would not permit any of the grove to be present and would summon a hundred mercenaries to the stone and do whatever it might take to make sure they did not interfere. I asked her to accept Dregans presence as she was reasonable and was one that had worked to keep things calm even during the fighting to which Yusmena agreed. I also suggested that Yesmena allow Dregan to control the stone next time as a means to eliminate the groves worries and gain their willingness to not interfere. Yusmena agreed to consider this as well. The weather was set back to its natural state and this was confirmed by Dregan and then all parties left.

The Fey and the Weatherstone
The First Transgression:
With some light backstory, The Weatherstone, as well as the surrounding mountains for decades, have been watched over by the now ever more absent Sky Talker Druids. These Druids, whos absence has been growing more and more over the past 2 decades, no longer watch over and or prevent travelers who wander too closely to the stone from interacting with it improperly.
As such, in recent history, there has been no large presence of persons at the Weatherstone, Heartwood Grove or otherwise that was not transient in nature. The Cliffhold, a home that has been held by many people, is the only real regular inhabitant of the Weatherstone itself. Most others come and go, as there is a convenient portal there for passage into the high mountains of the Crags.
Starting from 4 months ago, the first event that drew the attention of myself, was the appearance of a Fey of Winter. This Fey, while being rather mischievous in nature, presented itself as an innocent wisher to use the stone. The only issue is that this desire was to create Snow, in Midsummer.
With several there watching the stone be misused, the fey was able to use the powers of the stone to conjure cold fronts and formed a Snow Golem from the fallen snow around our feet. The fey would not abide by reason, and while not seeming to be outright harmful, displayed a flippant and disregarding attitude towards the use of the stone, for no more than mere amusement and joy.
This attitude can have damning repercussions, because as many farmers know, even the smallest cold snaps of that nature can send trees to drop their leaves early, drop buds, and ultimately food to rot and spoil due to the effect on nature.
This was the first event that seriously drew my personal attention toward the Weatherstone.

The Iron Throne and the Weatherstone
The Second Transgression:
Less than a month after the Fey, on the 27th of Eleasis, a second attempt to interface and manipulate the stone was detected.
The Iron Throne, a new entity to Arelith, who is part of what is known as the Founders Council of Fortress Guldorand, blockaded the stone and were attempting to Tamper with and Manipulate the stone. These Iron Throne Mercenaries were found by Samantha Goodman and Dora Goodman, already in conversation with Lyria Ashvane.
Samantha has already detailed her encounters with the Iron Throne on this day, and I will summarize her findings here.
The Iron Throne, falling on hard times and seeing to rebuilding their culture, were currently seeking to sail to Arelith with around 30 ships, carrying what is said to be the last of an entire People and all they own.
These persons, were seeking to alter the stone for their own use, by creating a weather pattern that would allow for 30 days of continuous, unending drought to ensure that the seas were calm for the passage of ships through the Trackless Sea to Arelith.
This, is not how the stone works. Its alterations of the environment itself are temporary in nature, and not intended for long term, extended use. After having this explained by Lyria to them, they relented, and made arrangements to use the stone in a more appropriate manner, with consultation of Guldorand and the Archmage Angela Amana.
Personally, I was not aware of the second event until the next month, when Samantha mentioned to me that they had stopped a contingent of foreign troops at the stone. Lyria had been given a strange helmet that she showed me, made of a metal called Palladium while we spoke in the Logjam by the fire. This helmets construction was similar to normal helmets, but lighter than iron, and more durable than Mithril. An interesting piece, to be sure. More on that in another note.

The Moot and the First Use p.1
Regarding the now renewed interest in the Weatherstone and it becoming a near tourist attraction at this point, I spoke with Burin and informed him of an intention.
The Weatherstone itself is an ancient device and site, dating back to the earliest inhabitants on the island and has been a common spot for many a druid and wizard to come. However, as of late, those who would not respect the stone, but instead come to abuse it and its powers have been frequent. With the Fey and the Iron Throne, coupled with other issues in Guldorand including imbalance near Mount Valtheran, The Absence of the Sky Talkers and the Abyssal portal within the Talassian Stronghold, it drove me to consider a new option.
This option was to form a new Grove, a place that while still accessible, could be treated like the Heartstone and Dark Heart Groves respectively. All 3 stones are already placing of unique power, and their importance to the balance of the land is understandably important.
So, with that suggestion in my head, to perform the creation of a new Circle and new Grove, to defend one of Areliths most ancient of resources, a Moot was set. Burin posted notice for a Grand Moot, to bring together those, and I spoke with many in Guldorand, inviting specifically their nature walkers to attend.
For, as a community, to come together to support an initiative like this, it is needed to have people who believe in this, and the moot was intended to be that. The proposal of a new grove, in public, so that all may hear, and their minds may weigh upon the topic at hand.
James and Emma of Cordor, several of the Gauntlet, Sarah and several of Bendir, and Arnbjorn and Several of Guldorand were in attendance, as well as from others who are otherwise unaffiliated. There, it was proposed at the creation and building of a new grove, to both aid the Wardens.
Day 8, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 169 AR

The Moot and The First Use p.2
And so, it was, on the 11th of Uktar, we gathered to moot, and this proposal was made. It was met to a mixed reception, some confused as to why a grove may possibly be needed, others saying it was already guarded by the Wardens, others still saying that it was already property of the Republic of Guldorand and why were we declaring this. While that may be true, the Moot itself was to be that opening of a bridge, to bring together those persons, particularly of Guldorand, informing them on the needs for nature walkers to work together, and establishing a local grove.
This was not the best delivery for such a proposal, but it was made, and the moot ended after a few more conversations.
Not 6 hours after, I was summoned by Samantha Goodman and Angela Amana, into Guldorand. Word had traveled of the moot (as Sam, Dora, Angela and others were not at the moot) and we spoke briefly over the words spoken at the moot. Sam had said that had we come to them first, they may be supportive of such an initiative to work together and were upset at Burins wording when he tried to dictate Guldorands Borders.
Following this discussion though, There was already set to be a meeting between Guldorand and a new Archmage of the Arcane Tower in the Mayfields. This new Archmage, had taken over very recently, following the death of Mila Brown and replacing Archmage Daria.
Traveling with Sam and Angela, I went with them as an expert on the Weatherstone, having studied it in detail and having Druidic knowledge of it in detail myself to meet with this Archmage. We met her in the Library of the Arcane tower, and she introduced herself as Archmage Yusmena Jiermalu Nakmor, a Red Wizard of Thay and ally of the Iron Throne.

The Moot and The First Use p.3
Sitting and speaking with Archmage Yusmena in the tower, it is here that I began to learn more of the Iron Throne and their plans to use the Weatherstone. Upon listening I understood that:
- Initially, the Iron Throne was seeking to use the Weatherstone for a full period of 30 days to ensure calm seas and weather for transit over the Trackless sea.
- These ships were coming over one or two at a time, in a slow pace, carrying the entire culture and belongings of the Iron Throne and her people.
- Lyria and Others had been negotiating with the representatives of the Iron Throne for a more moderate use of the weatherstone to prevent its misuse.
- The Threats of Force and seizing the weatherstone for use had already been given. If this Archmage could not get her way with the stone, she would order dozens of mercenaries to secure the stone and it would be used with or without our approval, despite protest.
Following the discussions beginnings at the Arcane tower, it was also learned that this Red mage had recently instituted sweeping changes within the Arcane Tower itself. It is common knowledge now that the Arcane tower upon this Archmages ascent, not condones the summoning of not only elementals and oozes, totems and constructs, but now Demons, Devils and Educational Animation on the Arcane Towers Grounds.
To me, this proved a bit disingenuous, and my suspicions had already begun to rise. One of the first acts of this Archmage was to institute these sweeping changes to the Arcane Tower, and now they are to use the Weatherstone? My skepticism peaked, as well as elevate further when Burin, Narwiel, Avalri and other nature walkers entered the Tower to also voice opinions regarding the Weatherstone and the meeting that day.
Day 8, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 169 AR
Dregan Young
The Moot and The First use p.4
Having asked several questions, including how she came to know of the weatherstone, did she know its purpose, and how she was proclaimed Archmage unheeded and unanswered, the Archmage informed all present that starting in 7 hours from that time, they would be at the Weatherstone to conduct the first activation of the Weatherstone for a journey of a ship leaving port. It would need to be used for a day, to alleviate the storms at sea.
Hesitant on this, we accompanied them to the Weatherstone, arriving with Archmage Yusmena, an Acolyte follower of hers, as well as several mercenaries of the Iron Throne.
Initially, the stone was operated by Yusmena herself, setting it to quell the storms about the island and for a time, the storms did react. However, like much in life, management was needed. The Stones effect is not a permeant one, and depending on the storm systems about, it does require multiple uses for a long-term effect.
This notably puts strain upon the stone itself as it expends more and more energy affecting the storm clouds and rain from above. As to continuously push back the storm, it is not as simple as set it and forget it. While Yusmena was making her initial attempts, her Acolyte spoke with us. She revealed that she was a student under Yusmena, and that one of her specialties was the study of Necromancy.
Many of the nature walkers, myself included, were unsettled by that. The Arcane Tower is not an entity that openly advocated for Necromancy for many years yet to hear this was jarring to say the least.
It was at this moment however, that things took a turn for the worse. Archmage Yusmena, in a teaching moment, invited the student to come upon the stone, and begin operating it herself. Initially hesitant to this, we all gathered watched on as the student also took a stance at the stone but was unable to operate the stone.
Day 8, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 169 AR
Dregan Young
The Moot and The First Use p.5
However, before being able to sigh in relief and explain that not everyone can use the stone the Archmage instructed that she Dominate the Stone, for it is nothing more than a tool to be used.
In this moment, everyone became unsettled from what I could tell, many about were objecting to the intentional domination of the stone, but in an instant the Acolyte did. She stated she was going to try her specialty and asserted this over the stone. Within moments, the sky itself became acrid and heavy, the wind died, the birds stopped chirping, the grass stood still.
It was as if all life simply paused. When it was revealed that she had employed necromancy, a deep feeling of entropy swept over the surrounding areas and had not just altered nature, it had stopped nature itself across a large area. This was quickly corrected, stepping forward myself and putting an immediate halt to the domination of the stone by this neophyte mage.
Enraged, those of the Heartwood, Myself and some of Guldorand all protested the abuse of the stone. I took my hand and placed it upon the stone, preventing others from using it for a time, and the Archmage eventually relented.
Though it was undone, this breech of trust over an artifact as powerful and dangerous of the Weatherstone would not go forgotten, and as Archmage Yusmena departed to deal with other duties, leaving the stone to operate in her absence, we all began to talk.
Day 8, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 169 AR

The Moot and The First Use p.6
Several Hours later, In a fury over the events, Burin lashed out, setting the natural pattern of storms to reoccur, taking upon his dragon form, and killing two Mercenaries of the Iron Throne. In the fighting, Birch also took her totem form and defended the stone, pushing both Sam and Sera to the ground, knocking them down and biting them for approaching. Eventually quelled of the attacks, Burin chased the remaining soldiers off the Weatherstone, and we were then left with the dead bodies of two Iron Throne Mercenaries.
Archmage Yusmena returned several hours later, already having been informed of the Heartwoods slaying of two of the Mercenaries and began demanding that the Heartwood be given no further activity with the stone, among other such demands. However, they left soon after to return to the Tower.
With the day over, and the Weatherstone already used for the day, we were left with the lingering thought that the stone would be used again in a week, this time for 2 days. Sam had successfully lobbied to have me present for this, and I did resolve myself to be there, though I had not determined at that moment what my actions would be.

The Second Usage p.1
In the following days of the first event at the Weatherstone, little changed and there was much on everyones mind. However, just as stated, Archmage Yusmena returned on time and in fashion.
This time, she brought a full compliment of Arcanists and Soldiers as she approached the Weatherstone, her Acolytes flanking the stone from all angles and positioning themselves on far corners of the circle with Archmage Yusmena walking down to join.
At this time, I had made up my own mind on how the stone was to be used. Originally, I was to be an observer, however after discoveries were made and knowledge gained on the potential for abuse to the stone as well as the intentional abuse done to the stone during the previous attempt, I was resolute in making myself firm that I would be the one to operate the stone. I had my reasons for doing so as well, and they would be given in time as I began my vigil over the stone.
Archmage Yusmena and her crew of Arcanists questioned me, Guldorand and our methods as well as my resolve. For 2 entire tendays, when there was nothing else happening at the stone, I was battered with questions and doubts. The Arcanists often found the ways of the Druids to be slow, and inefficient and would express this frequently.
They wished to touch upon the stone themselves and try to make it more efficient. They wished to experiment with the stone, casting upon it with spells of an unknown type or origin and change its overall operation. whether this was to repeat the experiments done by the previous Neophyte Arcanist or alter the stone itself, it was unclear.
But I refused to budge.
Day 17, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 169 AR

The Second Usage p.2
For 2 days, as the rains became harder to push back, the waters rose, the cold erupted all around us I held steady. As the stone became used, the constant pushing back of the storms quickly brought weather changes above us. The Storms became increasingly turbulent, attempting to work against the machinations of the stone, sometimes coming multiple times an hour to restore the balance. The Temperature dropped and raised incoherently, bringing rain, then snow, then rain again at times.
Water began to rise in the valleys below, pooling to great heights, and then freezing solid from my manipulations to manage and mitigate the ill effects being produced. Again, and again, as I did this, the gallery who watched and observed continued to make comments, throw their doubts, and again offer their efficiency, wishing to promise to even automate this process.
I refused to budge.
With my constant Vigil upon the stone, the Archmage protested greatly to this. She often would express her displeasure with my operation of the stone, my stubborn refusal to give in, and avoided much direct questioning of her of our own. Repeatedly and without fail, they would regale me and those at the stone every time the weather would return, saying how inefficient it was to constantly interact with the stone, how we should simply allow them to step in, and try their hypothesis.
Thats right, they didnt even know if what they were proposing would work, nor would they explain themselves when questioned on what this theory of theirs was. Simply that, as wizards, they know more than Druids and that our ways were primitive, and we should yield to learned arcanists like themselves.
Even Angela and Sam, who both came to my sides attempted to sway me from this vigil. Sam near begging me to comply, asking me to remove myself, and allow Angela to take my place as I maintained the use and protection of the stone itself.
I still refused to budge.

The Second Usage p.3
Even when the Talassian, angered using the stone for this manner, for the quelling of the storms came and sent their summons out to disrupt my vigil over the stone. Even when the threats of the floodwaters rose. Even when the fatigue of my vigil threatened me and my strength. Abducting a man named Falco and sending us demands that we cease the use of the stone, the Talassians attempted to interfere with the stone and force its powers to cease and return the weather to its natural pattern.
Choosing to remain, I knew that this would upset those of the Talassians however it was important that my work continue, lest the time spent Defying all present be wasted, and those who wished to use the stone, who had infringed our trust be allowed victory. Those consequences are indeed what they are, however, I weighed these against the consequences of what would happen should the stone fall into anothers hands, what may happen if those ships were damaged and this red wizard decided to act. And as a result,
I never budged.
The Two-Day vigil at the Weatherstone, in defiance of their desires to begin experimenting with the stone, examining how it worked, and otherwise learning more of the stone was successful. From the very beginning, I stood at that stone, and was able to operate it, mitigating the effects to a degree, and ever compensating for the interference posed by the Talassians who had formed a counter-circle to the Weatherstone to interfere with its ability to function and return the storms to the skies. Flood waters rising in the mountains, cold snaps freezing the ground solid.

The Second Usage p.4
Once the waters had fallen and the winds died down, at the end of the day it did not feel like we had won a great battle but achieved a small victory. The Talassians had taken prisoners during the attempt to quell the counter-circle at the Mountain Stonehold. Everyone though was returned safely at the completion of the usage on the Weatherstone. At least for now, the Weatherstone would remain with some of its inner workings intact and allow us to maintain its secrecy for a time.
The Archmage and her group stood nearly motionless through the end, taking little interest in the fighting ongoing at the Talassian Strongholds, or the fact that one of our own was taken prisoner during the attempt to disrupt the Talassians plots.
With the mark of midnight passing, and the moon at its highest, the ritual finally ended. 2 days of constant interaction with the stone had allowed the ships to pass, and with no more than a simple good enough, the Archmage paid Sam for her contributions, to the amount of 10,000 gold coins. These were then passed to me by Sam, saying that I deserved it since I was the one who did all the work.
I was disgusted in a financial payment for the usage of the stone. To even accept the money, I was shocked when the coins were taken in Sams hands. In my frustration, the coins were thrown out into the valley, scattering into the floodwaters as they quickly receded, and they were scattered downstream from the Weatherstone. We are better, as Arelithans, than this We deserve better. To be placed in this position and to see such flagrant attempts to force a foreign entity will, regardless of their future business arraignments was baffling, and angering.
From all reports following, Falco was the only one who was taken in the Talassian attack and held, and true to their word, as we vacated the Weatherstone at their deadline, the hostage situation was resolved without further blood.

The Account of the Iron Throne and the Weatherstone
On the 12th of Uktar, 168 AR, myself and many others walked to the Arcane Tower to read about their new rules concerning Necromancy, and the apparent condoning of such practices. In order to learn more, I went to the Apex.
There I found Angela the White, Dregan the Green, Samantha the Goodman Lady, and many others - Speaking to a new Archmage of the Tower.
They were in mid of discussion regarding the utilization of the Weatherstone to allow for the safe passage of ships to port in New Guldorand. While I was against this act, it would have happened anyway, so I reluctantly agreed to oversee the event. We went to the Weatherstone, dozens of folk, where the Iron Throne had already stationed mercenaries there in guard. An apprentice of the Archmage was there also, as she claimed to specialize in Necromancy.
Samantha the Goodman Lady accepted a large payment of gold from the Archmage for her deal to aid the Iron Throne. Samantha the Goodman Lady also assumed charge of Shields from Guldorand during this time.
The ritual commenced, as the Archamge fiddled with the Weatherstone and began to create a drought. She then encouraged her Apprentice to do so as well. The Apprentice was uneducated and inexperienced - She forced the Weatherstone to bend to her will, whereas someone who is worthy would know that the stone responds with much more ease to those whom are capable.
After the Archmage and Apprentice left, I was left distraught.
When there was a moment of calm, I went before the stone. And with haste, I cast the Stonehold spell, and paralyzed everyone in the area of the henge, including the Iron Throne Mercenaries.
It was then that I took to the form of a dragon, and with Ansuz and Fehu, we unleashed our judgement upon the mercenaries, as they and all others could only watch while encased to the Stonehold spell.
After the Stonehold faded, further fighting errupted, as a Druidess called Birch attacked Samantha the Goodmand Lady and another lass called Sera.

The Account of the Iron Throne and the Weatherstone (Continued)
I stood by and urged Birch to cease her actions as Samantha and Sera were struck down unconcious. Reinforcements arrived from Guldorand as the dust settled.
Eventually, the dust settled, and I departed the Weatherstone to rest, following the intense battle.
This is my account of what transpired atop those mountains. My actions were to destroy the Mercenaries and send my message most crystal clear to those of the Tower - And I believe I have succeeded in this effort.
My useage of the Stonehold spell kept all folk safe as I destroyed the invading mercenaries.
The larger issue remains with the Iron Throne, whose origins are Thayvian, and who have planted a new Archmage into the Tower. These same folk have paid Samantha the Goodman Lady of Guldorand to aid their methods. Whether or not Samantha the Goodman Lady has done this with the discretion of Guldorand or not, I do not know. My account may not be entirely complete - But I recollect the events as I took my own part in them.
My bottom line is that I do not trust this Iron Throne, or their scheming and manipulative Archmage of the Tower. I will continue my efforts to ensure the sacred places of Arelith are not tainted by their efforts, and I will continue to ask questions about people who accept gold to aid such efforts.
This is the way,

Iron Throne and The Weatherstone, 27th Eleasis 168
On the 27th day of Eleasis, in the year 168 I was with Dora when we received a message stating that a group called the Iron Thone were blockading The Weatherstone and tampering with it. We immediately made our way there to investigate. Upon our arrival we found several individuals, with Lyria Ashvane among them, speaking with a mage and several soldiers. The mage was, from appearances, wrapping up either studying or attempting to use The Weatherstone. In a short conversation we were able to determine the following things:
1. The Iron Throne has fallen on hard times.
2. They are moving the last of their group to the Fortress City in 30 or so ships.
3. These ships contain the last of everything they own
4. They are desperate to see these ships all make it to the city intact
5. They were prepared to alter the weather for thirty continuous days to make sure their ships are safe.
6. Lyria had already talked them down from trying to make an encampment at The Weatherstone to secure its continual use over those thirty days and instead to use The Weatherstone only when it was truly needed to ensure the safety of their ships.
7. Dora and I expressed that we had people who had studied The Weatherstone for years and we would be glad to help them use it safely.
8. We were told that they would likely contact us when there was a need to use it.
As this initial encounter wrapped up the Iron Throne mage offered Lyria a palladium helmet for her services rendered as a consultant. I would also note that the Iron Throne Mage happened to also say this as he offered the helmet for payment: Palladium from our time in Skal. We made more than we needed. I'm sure it will be useful for whoever you hire for your own excursions.

Addendum - Notes on Yusmena
Not much is known of Yusmena at the time of these incidents, but we have been able to gather some limited information. I will list this in bullet points:
-She appears to be Thayan
-She has worked with The Iron Throne for over a decade and has been a reliable asset to them
-She has replaced Daria as Archmage of the tower with apparently no objections from Daria herself
-She is reported to work for or report to someone called Gloria
-Gloria is reportedly an old friend of Mila Brown
-Mila Brown was a known Harper and although rough and hard to get along with she was a good person

Two warnings: 1 - Droq; 2 - Iron Throne
A tenday ago I was warned by a friend who lives in Sibayad, that the ceasefire of Guldorand for the Pirates might not be as effective as they might think it is. Not only Patty was aiding the Drow and Pirates in their slavery, but apparently there are more folks corrupted by greed.
Despite the promise, that there is no slavery to be on the surface, while the ceasefire is in effect, there is to be an organised market day between Andunor and the Pirates of Sencliff, to meet in Sibayad for an exchange of slaves. A date has not been publically set, but I will continue to be alert and try to find out more. I am unsure of what can be done by us directly, but at least if we have the information we can attempt to find support for this not to happen. There is a group in Sibayad adamantly against slave trade. I will continue working with them.
2) The Iron Throne - the list Rh el pinned was from me. I had not had the time to write further explanation to it, so it follows now. Master Smith Weyland Bladesong of Skal visited Cordor with news and warnings - it was he, who gave me that penned list. Having found that precious palladium the Iron Throne is after, their competition is and was hot on their heels, and have recently also arrived on Skal. They call themselves "The Masters" and are challenging the Iron Throne for this ore. Skal Villagers, and others not part of their warparties are caught in the crossfires.
I had previously expressed worry that if their greed will cause them to scrape Skal to the bones they will not stop there and likely will soon turn their eyes onto the other islands on this archipelago. Including Arelith, despite Cordor and by extension potentially Amn's strength. Having seen the Iron Throne Soldier within the grove, I can see now that my worries have not been unfounded. Even now, we are being asked "why we are letting this happen."
Could we have a moot between Wardens and Druids on these topics soon, please?

The Iron Throne in Skaljard
The Iron Throne has bought the Isle of Skaljard and is attempting to decimate the forests and grove for its natural resources and a resource known only as 'palladium.' They are hiring adventurers to protect their miners and imprisoning anyone that they believe to be Amnian Spies.
They have destroyed the Articifers' Tower and are currently excavating the surrounding caves for palladium. A witch hunter in the area claims that the local cults have begun chanting about the end of days.
A Lathlander Priestess by the name of Ada Morales is leading a 'resistance' against the Iron Throne and has been compiling information on them. I, Monremar of AIltos, have been unable to bring these copies with me but this report contains the details of those reports.
During the destruction of the grove, the grove's guardian Parchir was captured by the Iron Throne and is being held prisoner.

Transcription: Destruction of the Skaljard Grove Part I
The following is a transcription from several pages of report penned by a Skaljard Druid, Geryon Steel. The reports are in the possession of Mayor Ezekiel Klennald of Guldorand, pinned to a board containing many other reports from Skaljard. I do not know how he came into possession of the board, but I copy these reports faithfully to ensure we have the most up to date information possible.
If anyone can enlighten my to exactly what a Durod is, I would be grateful, at first I thought it merely a slip of the quill, but it appears many times in the report, is this some sub-species of Dryad native to Skaljard?
Report begins:
The details regarding the destruction of the grove here are misleading at best,or malicious and planned or worse. I shall correct what has been written here.
To note, I am Geryon Steel. I am druid, as some of you might refer to, or a nature-walker, perhaps, and have been on Skal for the past ten years, except for the past couple of months where I briefly returned to the sword coast. That being said, here Is what happened from my perspective on that day.
- I arrived at the grove, of which I am not a part of, to find out about the arrival of the Iron Throne. I do not typically visit the grove, and this was my first visit in many months, as I was against its construction originally.
- I spoke very briefly with Parchir, with those present being relatively clueless as to the purpose of the Iron Throne being there at that point. It should be noted that Parchir was not a member of this grove either, it was under the care of someone else I am not familiar with.
- During our talk, Benjamin, the Lady of Skals brother arrived, along with around twenty Iron Throne guards and an archmagi, and a few mercenaries/adventurers from the village

- Those present at the time within the grove, that being myself, Parchri, a few Durods (and perhaps one of two others I cannot remember), and a kobold (I did not get enough time to determine whom or what they were, but gathered they may have been a visiting nature walker from off-land, but cannot be sure)
- I volunteered to speak on behalf of the grove, given the lack of official representatives at the time, and also given the heated situation
- I spoke with Benjamin for a brief while, explaining what was going on. He demanded to see the dragon, and I attempted to talk Parchir into presenting himself and coming forward, while also attempting to negotiate with the Iron Throne representative
- During the conversation, before Parchir was asked to show his human form, the archmagi called out, wishing to instead just ignore their words, and set fire to both the grove, and the forest itself
- These words did not go down well with myself, and as you might understand, the others. Parchir then refused to take part, personally, with the negotiations, standing back and keeping a distance
- I asked Benjamin to take my word for it, as someone that has served Skal for many years, thought they would have none of it. It seems they were not familiar with the capabilities of druids.
- Benjamin and the others with him eventually pulled back to Skal, giving us a day to reconsider
- However, an hour later, we were contacted through some sort of illusionary construct, but the Lady of Skal that being Lady Catelli, that we were to give Parchir up, or they would destroy the grove
- It was not long after this message, a few minutes perhaps while those present were talking, that spells started to land all around us. Spells seemingly stronger than the incantation known as hellball. Targeted meteors that splashed not just on the grove, but over the entire weald.

- It was not a firebomb as was stated before. Many folks died in the resulting explosions, as well as innocents travelling within the area at the time, not all bodies were retrieved, so far as I know. The grove was destroyed at this point. I should note, no hostile action of any manner had been taken against the Iron Throne yet, nor were any present during the magical attack.
- Those present that did survive, picked up the charred bodies as the northern part of the weald burned, and took them north. We took a moment to prepare wards, before another vision of the Lady appeared, saying shed purposely pinpoint Parchir with her spells. Regardless of the message, spells now rained down upon most of the northern weald, and it is then that we split up
- Parchir said he would head into the caves within the northern weald, while I encouraged everyone else to head back south while the spells rained down
- I believe a couple of folks, those I did not know, went with Parchir, while the various travellers, and Durods, went south more towards the village, went south more towards the village, including myself
- At this point, the Durods wished to have revenge for their fallen, as well as the destruction of the grove. I do not know exactly what they did, but they eventually went off on their own, and so I later learned, launched an attack on the Palladium Mining operations
- The others, and myself, went back into the village. While I was severely tempted to unleash Silvanus fury upon those that would cause such death, and chaos against those that have protected the village for so long I chose not to
- As I later found out, Parchir was eventually captured by the Iron Throne. The details of the fight, or his capture, I do not know specifically. He was later teleported off-land with a few others later that day
- I do not know what happened to the Durods, but I believe they may have eventually been killed during their efforts.

That is all, signed Geryon Steel
Report Ends
To recieve this information I shared a little intelligence with Master Klennald, as I was in Guldorand and happened to over-hear that they were negotiating a timber shipment with the Iron Throne representative, mentioned in my other note several hours before.
The Mayor, and Miss Clea Stormheart seemed woefully underinformed regarding the Iron Throne when we first started speaking, however I suspect that was a ruse based on their access to this intelligence. I have no idea if they are allies, or merely seeking best advantage, but the village of Guldorand seems to be more involved that I had first thought

Dossier: Yusmena Jiermalu Nakmor
Name: Yusmena Jiermalu Nakmor
Position: Archmage of the Mayfields Arcane Tower
Affiliation: The Iron Throne, Red Wizard of Thay, The Arcane Tower
Demographics: Thayan Female, around 58. Wizard by trade. Bald, shaved. No visible tattoos. Dark red/black clothing. Possible Infernalist, has been seen with an Imp Familiar.
Associations: Lady Gloria (Skal, AR150 incident), others
Bio: Archmage Yusmena as she is known now, is a Red Wizard of Thay, who came to the island first around 5 months ago in AR 168. She is an arrogant, rude and highborn acting woman with a condescending attitude and a penchant for brevity.
She treats those around her as if they are no more than mercenaries and has been observed multiple times disregarding basic culture and respect for those around. She often uses gold to pay people for work done, whether it was agreed on or not, she seems to carry the notion that everyone is swayed by coins.
Nothing is known about her specialties as a Wizard. Though from first glance, it would be apparent that she was highly adept at some form of conjuration. She condones the use of evil summoning, and even the open act of animation.
Nothing further is known about her political ties either other than she is a Red Wizard and is an ally of the Iron Throne.

Palladium: The New Metal
Palladium is a rare metal that previously has not been found on Arelith. It is a metal that exceeds the durability of steel and iron, on par with that of a Mithril or Adamantium ore, but is reportedly easier to work and lighter, like steel is.
This metal composes the metallic armor and weapons carried by members of The Iron Throne.
It came to my attention, and why it is included in this report on the Weatherstone, because after events that led to the usage of the Weatherstone and upon investigation of motives of The Iron Throne after several altercations with nature walkers, it was revealed that it is suspected that this metal can be found upon Arelith, and more specifically, The Druids Groves on the island.
As attested by Warden Sythaeryn Vilrandir of the Mages Tower, this was being investigated prior to Archmage Yusmenas elevation to Archmage of the Tower. All 3 existing groves, the Heartwood Grove, the Dark Heart Grove, and the Zhurkwood Grove are all possible candidates to find and locate this rare metal.
It is theorized that, in fact, this metal may only be found at the groves, and may have some relation to the artifacts like the Heartstone, the Dragonstone, and other artifacts found at the groves.
In a report from Skal, This may have already befallen them, to where the grove was essentially killed by invaders from The Iron Throne, digging for Palladium underneath the Skal Druids Grove.
As of this time, this has not been investigated as the seas are frozen and travel there is currently impossible as of the writing of this note. What information has been gathered has been from Skals Oral History passed on by those who have come from Skal to Arelith.

Dossier: The Iron Throne
The Iron Throne
These are a people and culture that come from across the Trackless Sea and are from a failing empire who are seeking refuge on Arelith to rebuild. These men and women are sailing to Arelith and are to be represented in Guldorand when the city is completed on something called the Founders Council.
Currently, we know little about The Iron Throne aside from this and their intentions to be our new neighbors. They are rebuilding their culture, and as such, a priority was placed upon safe passage through the Trackless Sea.
This is what led them to finding the Weatherstone and attempting to use it to their own ends. While the stone has this capability for a short duration, as mentioned previously, they intended to use the stone for well over its normal usage limits, and keep the stone active for a month straight to allow their ships free passage over the waters to Arelith.
How these foreigners came to know of the stone, who informed them as to what the stone was, where to locate it, and how to operate it is still unclear. But whoever this person or group was that informed the Iron Throne on what the Weatherstone was precipitated a grand threat to the island and to Arelithians abroad. If it had not been for a chance encounter at the Weatherstone itself by Lyria Ashvane, it easily could have led to disaster.
In payment for Lyrias advice and offer to assist, the soldiers paid her with a helmet made of a foreign metal, they called it Palladium.

My Personal Testimony: The Two Day Vigil
This note is to put to paper my decisions regarding the 2-day vigil.
First, for context. I was fully aware of the Iron Thrones intentions to bring their troops to these shores by this point. Knowing they were the last of their people, and they were upon the Founding Council of Guldorand City.
Many of those are soldiers, mercenaries, workmen. They are coming on those ships, and the Archmage made it abundantly clear that if we would try to hamper her efforts, she would bring all the forces she could muster, and she would take the Weatherstone by force for herself.
She would then have the liberty to do whatever she wanted to the stone and allow whoever access to it without reproach or oversight.
My defiance at the stone, at least for a short time, has robbed them of this opportunity. 2 Days worth of study, to arcanists, would have been massive. To sit and experiment with the stone, to do gods know what to it, and put every life on Arelith in jeopardy while they tinker with a magical monolith made in ancient times they know nothing about.
I took this initiative, to bridge that gap. There are those that said I should have turned the storms against them and murdered those sailors and wrecked the ships to the ocean floor. There are those who say we should have killed everyone atop the Weatherstone. And there are those still who say we should have stood back and let them do what was needed.
I disagree with all of these. For The Bloodshed that would have come should we fought, would not have been honorable. Many of us would have lost our lives and gained nothing. For only 2 ships were transiting at that time and overusing the stone for the reasons of creating the storm would be no different than using it to create a lasting drought.
I believe I made the right choice. In standing to use the stone in the correct way, with moderation and wisdom. No Negative Energies, and no bloodshed. So, we may continue to resist tomorrow.
