HEADLINE: The High Fall Furthest
There is little doubt in the nuances of popular favor, nobody truly is able to stay in the limelight for long without attention drawing elsewhere. Sometimes, however, the prime actor breaks from the script and shouts insults at the crowd, the crew, and the very funders for their play.
This has happened to the once rejoiced Nieri Atherforge.
A famed captain, smith, and architect of the Clarity Project has had most of this tossed aside with a break of the facade. She has been found to speak that she has no friends in our glorious sands and worse, insults and disrespects the council, the merchants, and citizens of the town. Going so far as to deem them something she simply put up with. Monsters, murderers, and liars.
It all came to ruin when she stepped out of line to speak with the General of the Sharps. She decided to slander the good name of various people to an outsider in some vain attempt at negotiation only to make things worse. Atherforge has since been stripped of all titles, perhaps more quietly than should have been. What all she could of had, and now all she has is ire.
Scribing Their Dirty Laundry
How this house crosses our desks so often will make them an ongoing article at this point. House Tholari has caught more attention, this time from the City of Guldorand. Their actions down in the City of Andunor has been spread about and given reason to make their key house members unwelcomed.
For those unaware, House Tholari has publicly boasted towards their dealings with Andunorian figures, namely the drow House Briz'zek, and caught attention of various high nosed organizations and cities such as the Elven City of Myon, and the Order of Ascension. Their house has already been barred from Myon, and now it seems the whole of Guldorand wants little to do with them.
To House Tholari's credit, they are fighting back with a lawyer's keen eye, pointing out the pariah they have recieved from Guldorand doesn't align with the Founder's Council list of laws. It does read a bit impish in tone, though after a proper inspection of the various laws in Guldorand they actually have a point. They are guilty of some minor crimes surely, though to imply treasonous association for trade? Pariah is perhaps too far.
Will Guldorand see the errors of their ways in enforcing their laws, or will Tholari keep catching closed doors?
To Be Full
Perhaps quietly to the average trader and merchant, Sibayad has grown exceptionally since the last year. Unseen to most, the resource stockpiles are always a bane for cities and towns to maintain so their walls, buildings, and public utilities can be maintained. The Sibayadi Council seems to have found the trick however, and the resources are looking better than ever!
Past this, the small pockets of fertile ground is being well maintained. Gardens are a luxury in the dune lands, from the outskirts to the Sibayad Falls, the town has plants galor!
Fashion: Azure in the Eye
The latest shipments from Calimport are in, with the finest cloth available. To welcome in the coming spring dry season are the sky-blue hues! Dyes from a special mixture have been shipped in, letting local tailors test the new Azure shade on their own wares. While considered tacky to get entire robes in the color, a splash of Azure on a head covering, a scarf, or dashing sash is all the rage.
Pair it with gold jewelry and you are in fad! Don't be left in the '87, new year new look! Get to your local tailor and get an Azure piece today!
Spotlight: The Lost Desert
Winds catch the sands everywhere, but nothing like they do in the Lost Desert. As its namesake implies, travelers are easily lost in those sands due to swirling sandstorms. Be sure to pack water and food if you dare to venture out there, and maybe a portal lens or two wouldn't hurt as well.
But what is of interest in such a harsh place? Ruins! Treasures! Secrets, and Oracles! Any true dungeon delver wants to visit a true lost city, and rumor says the Lost Desert hosts one. This does not even touch on the other various ruined towns, cities, and outposts one might find out there. Some occupied, some not!
And of course, give the Desert Oracle a visit. Perhaps a vision for your future is in store, for the right gift.
