HEADLINE: The Wolf that Bites
Sibayad's resident Shade lackey and prideful pup got up in arms recently citing vague threats and actions against him would be declarations of war.
He then assaulted a member of the council.
Despite the egotistical trip down self indulgence to make such a logistical leap from threat to act, much happened over the last month. Threats were levied between the town and the chin-lifting dog in a back and forth that disgraced the town's wall with slander and rubbish. Problems heightened when a duel was called between Vizier Helbrecht and Ulvric. Secondary parties declared the duel in victory of Ulvric, while the Seneschal declared against the result due to use of items.
There seemed to be no discussion of rules, so despite the outcome the most prepared came out on top.
Public outcry began as this conflict began to threaten profits of the merchants. In a curious head ducking, the Vizier extended peaceful terms to Ulvric, which was publicly accepted. While the merchants may be happy to not have to look behind their back, this does put into question how Sibayad under Vizier Helbrecht will handle similar threats and if the town is indeed safe under his vision.
Big Mouthed Scribes
New comers to Sibayad is House Tholaunt, occasionally referred to as House Tholari, though this confusion has seen little clarification. Big strides have been made for them to open up trade, occupy housing, and generally move into the trade town with welcome. The house seems to boast a interest in knowledge and books, a welcome addition to the sands as knowledge can only bring coin.
However, boasting about your knowledge can sometimes bring ire. House Tholaunt's head scribe was discovered to be boasting about their active consorting with House Briz'zek, a known drow house of Andunor. Accusations from Myon state this new house has gone so far as to receive writs of protection from the drow and openly trading information with them.
It is no surprise that the elves then declared House Tholaunt a threat and announced them unwelcomed. Perhaps the next book they read could be on tact rather than public swagger.

Spotlight: Shameen the Windshaper!
Local Djinni, blessed genie, soaring wisdom of the sands. Shameen is known by the locals as the Windshaper, oft blamed for sandstorms that spill over the trade routes and the town itself. He offers water to his visitors, respite from the sun, and protections from the deserts. But even more, he offers wisdom and gifts for trade.
Perhaps given by his name, the Windshaper offers lessons in the windy words of Auran for the gift of a desert flower that grows in the depths of an old forgotten city lost in the sands. And should one travel to one of the many islets to the north and find a blue gem that resonates with a strange melody, know it to be the Whaler's Cry! For this gem, Shameen will gift you a taste of his waters from the blessed spring, a blessing both wonderful and invigorating.
His Minaret is found in the Sibayad Falls, a beautiful and lush location off the main road through Delver's Ridge. Give Shameen a visit, and be kind to his mighty sword, Jhaposs!
