HEADLINE: You're Not My Boss

The Best of Sibayad Spar (B.O.S.S.), is druming up again for its fifth round! The style of this melee shall be... Duels!

One on one duels between only the best. No leaning on allies and friends to carry you through the rankings. Think you can hold your own? Prove your worth, and bloody the sands! As always, a free for all shall wrap up the event, for chaos or revenge from the duels.

4th of Alturiak, at the twentieth bell. Be there!

Dramatical Stories

Sibayad has become famous for its story nights, held roughly every month in the Gilded Mirage. The stories cause the crowds to roar with laughter, or cry with sorrow! Not to mention, it can be a great way to catch up on your linguistic studies, as many of the stories are translated on the spot.

But the stage is not the only place where stories unfold. Quietly, this night of stories is for new ones to be told too. Intrigue, deals, and all manner of negotiations and announcements are made during these nights. The City of Cordor often has their esteemed ladies visit, one which was caught in a scene as Ezekiel Mercer arrived only to, quietly, announce his withdraw from the ministry of justice.

Just recently, the Vizier told a story only for it to be revealed to be a ploy to propose to the Seneschal. Who said yes! If you got a deal to make, a person to meet, this is the time and place to do so.

Grace of a False Heart

All who come to the Jewel of the Sands and partake in trade and culture here understands the general undertones and expectations of your fellow people. Always trying to barter the best of deals, always aiming for profits. It is what makes Sibayad rich and prosperous. And even the most noble of goals and people can be rooted in this greed.

Recently appointed Steward Thendry is yet another one of these. A kind service she puts on, a clinic and place of respite for the weary and wounded. Services offered to the vast vast majority of the workforce in town. But it is known these offerings are for personal gain.

Lora Thendry is a priestess of the Broken God, and her rampant kindness used to further this religious tie, and personal gains. Rumour has it she assists and pushes the sandy town's people by divine direction and for her own profit. Greater recognition in her congregation, a pass of a test or trial. She has motives beyond philanthropy.

The Ears Reveal the Point

In recent history, it comes to no surprise that elves take issue with Sibayad. It is why they, like all, are welcomed to conduct trade and business, but they are never to linger. The City of Myon has been through elections more often than coin is exchanged in our markets, but it seems their stance on our fair trade town is not going to change. During the elections, both Aillaan "Laan" Croydon and Torvi spoke similarly. No deals, no dialogue, no business.

The rest spoke vaguely of values of elven people. Little on trade and commerce, or actionable plans. Also, Aillaan Croydon won. Lets see how long this one sticks around, shall we?

Spotlight: The River Port

The first stop to all trade and travelers, the River Port is the only stable landing site and harbour for ships on the sail. Without the guide of Kaspar's mappings, vessels would become stranded on sandbanks or run aground on reefs. Up the river all ships go to the port, with the long trek of the road to the town. The river used to run closer to the town but has all but dried up. Excess of the lavish merchant life, or a change in the sands?

The port is not barren, though there is little of value kept here. Cayd, offering shipwriting services, can repair any vessel. Nelanther traders can offload your sea-gotten treasures, or Percival if you are not of ill repute. A waterseller and portal offer reprieve and escape, respectively.
