The Last March of Benwick

The Golden Halls of Brogendenstein
Answers the call of their allies at Light Keep

Light Keep came to the Golden Halls asking for aid against a growing threat from Baator, pleading with their long-term allies that the Light of Benwick, must not go out. After spending a tenday preparing supplies, Thane Doli Troff mustered the kinsmen, including 22 different clans as well as other free kin to march on the keep. Clans Troff, Ironbelly, Keglighter, Ironanvil, Ironhelm, Graybeard, Ironsworn, Bloodbeard, Halitt and more met up with the Knights of the Road and the halflings of Bendir Dale to aid their long-term allies.

The combined army of dwarves, halflings, humans and Keepers of the Light shook the ground of the Benwick Forest, their numbers were so great. Marching into the fray of devils, this army of allies battled for a full day and night against the armies of Hell. At the break of dawn, a mighty wave of destruction emanated from below the earth and the light of Benwick was destroyed, put out for ever, as if it never existed at all.

Only then did the combined allies realize that nothing they could do would change the fate of Light Keep and the entire citadel sank deep into the earth, never to be seen again. Now, in its place, a dark lake resides where shadow creatures often stalk unwary travelers.

Few living veterans of the battle remain on the Arelith Archipelago, however, those brave souls who venture through the remaining portal have relayed stories of the ungodly destruction that remains in the realm of the Nine Hells.
