Book 2 of the Spooky Sensation Series.

Clarissa wandered the forest. A field researcher, she needed to study the wilds first-hand. The wilderness was filled with danger but she had trained herself in basic combat to fend off creatures of the wild. No gnoll nor bugbear would get the best of her.

She set up camp in the forest, preparing for the oncoming night. She lit a campfire and cooked stew on it, enjoying the solitude of the forest until the flames died down and moon began to rise.

Off in the distance she heard a howl. A wolf attracted to the smell of dinner, most certainly. She readied her spear and surveyed her moonlit surroundings, a rustle in the nearby brush casting her attention. She readied herself, yet nothing could prepare her for the beast that leapt forth. An absolute unit of a man-beast, fur not obscuring how muscular he was in the slightest. A glorious mane of fur draped from his head. This was the legendary werewolf, a beast of myth, now face to face with Clarissa.

She thrust with her spear, parrying the werewolfs attacks and successfully stabbing him during his strikes. But the werewolf's supernatural healing stopped his bleeding and closed his wounds. If anything, the attacks impressed him. He paced circles around Clarissa, observing her.

Without warning he jumped again, this time swiping at Clarissas spear and knocking it from her hands, pinning her to the ground.

"Ah! Get off me!" Clarissa exclaimed, trying to fight off the werewolf, worried it was about to eat her.

"Grr!" The werewolf replied, staring at her, unmoving. Clarissa stared into his eyes, her heart beating. In a way, his manly touch was romantic. She didnt know what to think.

"Grr." The werewolf said, his tone much calmer. Clarissa understood, the wolf-man was lonely. She ran a hand through his mane, he gave a soft growl, and licked her cheek. This is when Clarissa knew in her heart, she would become Queen of the Wolves. She remained in the forest with the wolf-man, following her true passion of the wilds by his side.
