A Brief Account of Vampires Known and Suspected

From the Hallowed Chronicles of the Known Damned:

Cruz Sanchez - This creature, swathed in dark spiked plate, armor kissed by fiery blood, may well be the fiend responsible for the torment of Trithlin. By his side, the wicked gleam of a falchion bathed in flame ever threatens those who oppose him.

Adelyn Belle'rose - A maiden of alabaster skin and cascading crimson locks, whispers link her heart - be it still or beating - with that of Lyann Reyer. Their bond, whether of shadowed allegiance or love, remains shrouded in mystery.

Laverne vi Maeruhal - Once of the Cordorian halls, this raven-haired sorceress of pale countenance weaves her dark arts from within the sanctuary of the Ruzalitum in Dis, a place immune to prying magical eyes. Her past entangled with the arcane pillars of the Arcane Tower, she now walks the cobblestones of Andunor. Her trust, once a gift, may now be her guard. Two shadows follow her trail: Kaerxyra, a drowess of enigmatic intent, and a sigilite drow male, his name lost to the wind.

Perunika - She is the deathly dance in the dark, a silent storm of slaughter. One of her shields of war, steeped in memories of crimson, finds itself in the grasp of Caleb Runestream, a vassal to the Banite noble, the enigmatic Kathryn Eldren.

Anastasia - Wild and fierce, she loathes comparisons to mere beasts. Yet, her feral heart, unyielding and unapologetic, guards her coveted prey with a deadly embrace.

Francesca - Deep in the artistic heart of Andunor's Hub, she revels. A patron of art, she surrounds herself with timeless paintings, magnificent sculptures, and tales told on stage. Her desires are carried out by her pawns, keeping her hands unsullied.

Whispers of Thralls: One name echoes - Vittoria. By her own will, she succumbed. She remains tethered to allies who walk beneath the sun.

Sealed Notes of the Inquisitor: The Cordorian vaults hold deeper tales of these nocturnal fiends. Soon, their tales shall merge into a single tome of darkness. These damned souls, bound to Andunor's depths, must be watched. I urge, let us use those from our past, eyes and ears in the abyss, to mark when these creatures show weakness. When the moment is ripe, draw them from Andunor's heart, into our trap, and let hunters end their cursed existence.

Laverne vi Maeruhal | Paired Reports

Weird one here. Know that I make this report because this woman does not seem to have any scruples for who she associates with, or where. If she does not become a problem herself, she will almost certainly be an associate of those who are problematic. Laverne is a pale-skinned human woman with dark hair. She has a past association with the Arcane Tower that I cannot easily investigate, given its location on the surface. If anyone wants to look into that, it may give a little more insight.

She makes her home in a room she's rented in Dis, within the Ruzalitum. The Ruzalitum's warding against scrying extends to her room, and she is capable of warding other spaces against scrying herself.

Traversing Andunor as if familiar, she is still treated as a sunlander by the denizens who know of her past with the Arcane Tower. She is all too eager to work with any who will speak to her though, and gave me a tour of her home in Dis after a brief conversation of academic and artistic matters.

Within her home she has a peculiar mirror-like object which depicts an idyllic countryside cottage locked in a perpetual twilight of sunset. Bizarrely she held that this is the demiplane home of an amethyst wyrm; one of the psionic gem dragons. For how she spoke of the gem dragon, I gained the impression she held an intimate relationship with the creature. She offered to introduce me on a later occasion, provided I do not offend the creature. Also within her home were two brains in jars, one belonging to a devil and one to a demon. These were set beside a homunculus still held within its flask, and for the layout of everything I take them to be related to her work with the homunculus.

She is easily won over in conversation by conveying yourself as a scholar, more so by speaking from a standpoint of philosophical neutrality and balance.

After such a conversation, within mere hours of knowing her, she swore her hospitality to me in the future if ever I need it.

She wishes for me to meet with a Vittoria Veleno, who by pure chance I encountered separately in Andunor. I'll update with a report on Veleno as I learn more of her.

In Summary:

Laverne is *easily* won over, with virtually no effort, by playing the part of a neutral-minded scholar. She is prideful, but seems slow to recognize when one is simply telling her what she wants to hear or playing to her ego.

Her comfort in Andunor, and Dis, alongside her readiness to associate with

Underdarkers makes her suspect in some regards. I imagine she will serve as a gateway to keeping tabs on other evil doers.

Additional Notes following this report:

Date: 3, Month 9 (Eleint) 180AR

- Laverne was encountered entering her Dis room in the Ruzalitum with a male drow. They spoke for a while on a painting (likely the same as the prior report) and discussed in how Ilythiiri served for better company than that of Cordorians. In this exchange she has mentioned that she was seeking a manor in Cordor but had seen no luck in acquiring one. She is fluent in Undercommon and as noted from the conversation, had been giving Abyssal lessons to another drown she named as Kaerxyra.

- The male she was speaking to had not stated his name from what was told, however the drow mentioned he was a Sigilite and confused on her vested interest in taking him away to speak privately. She ensured noting that due to her paranoia she felt safe in having conversations like these in her private quarters where she felt she was naturally safe from prying eyes. She vested too much thought that someone might only be observing her through scrying and not through physical presence.

- She had introduced the drow to her cat, Diana who she regarded as being a figure unoriginally an animal but either cursed or degraded to the form of a priss talking cat.

- Unfortunate not much more was gleaned of this exchange when attention was taken away and the need to leave was substantial.

Warning: Vampire uncovered - Laverne vi Maeruhal

People of Arelith,

It is with grave news I bear tidings that Cordor uncovered a vampire in its midst working and living amongst our very own.

Laverne vi Maeruhal was proven to be an Undead in my very office under witness of Lady Ginny Rivorndir, Lord Dax Rivorndir, Lady Alaina Voclain, Kritheris Gwette and myself when Lord Dax used upon her a healing scroll causing her great harm.

Laverne worked in the Ministry of Knowledge and later Education and was originally hired by Abdiel of the Arcane Tower. As word of suspicion reached me, I saw it as my duty to uncover the truth and protect the people of Cordor and the isle of a possible vampire living amongst us.

Laverne claims not to have harmed people and only to feed on animals. But the souls of the vampires are corrupt and damned. She is a danger and she will attempt manipulation and seduction like the rest of them.

Laverne has been declared unwelcome and a Pariah of Cordor.

Be vigilant and do not fall to temptation.

Signed,
Lord-Chancellor of Cordor
