Laverne vi Maeruhal (Painting)

From Encyclopedia Arelithica 3.0

Painted here is a human woman, with straight brown hair hung freely around her face. Her eyes are unusual, blue but with faint flecks of red, leaning towards the violet, her skin is pail and unblemished. She has a small, upturned nose and a soft jawline, all together making her quite attractive, as these things go.

Her closing is of soft, well dyed leathers and robes, and she is painted sitting down at a desk. One of her hands is shown holding a quill, and upon the index finger of that is a signet ring, with some curious design on it – a noble house’s seal perhaps?

The other hand rests on a grinning skull, highlighted in shades of sickly, necrotic green, mist roiling out of it’s eyes.

The rest of the desk is covered with various paraphernalia, arcane and mundane. Most noticeable is a spellbook covered in a glittering purple hide, that of an amethyst dragon, painted propped up on the far left hand side of the picture.

On the right hand side of the desk, bracketing the woman, is a black cat, busy licking one of it’s paws, its eyes half lidded, lazy, indolent.

The woman’s mouth is upturned into the faintest of smug smiles, her eyes gleaming with malevolence, the hint of a fang peering out from those full lips. The image might send a faint chill down the spine of the viewer, at the quiet command that such a powerful mage and schemer might hold.

At the bottom right of the picture, very small, is a tiny black rams head, in profile, with ‘A.S.’ beneath it.
