Infernalist Cults

My Father always said that if something sounds too easy and you gain too much then it is clearly a lie. With that said I write this to warn the innocent of the wolves in sheep's clothing on this isle, the Infernalists.

Infernalists are those on the Isle that sign a blood pact giving their souls upon their final death to one of the Archdevils of Hell. The archdevils are the rulers of the Nine Hells. Unlike the chaotic evil demon lords of the Abyss, the Lords of the Nine are arranged in a strict hierarchy. I list the Archdevils here in the order of the Nine; Bel, Dispater, Mammon, Fierna/Belial, Levistus, Glasya, Baalzebul, Mephistopheles and Asmodeus so that those who read this can be aware of the names of the archdevils. During my research on Aerlith most I dealt with had signed blood pacts with the Lord of the First: Bel. Bel is a former pit fiend of great power who controls Avernus.

A blood pact is a written document in which an individual requests something of their choosing from the archdevil and in turn sign their soul over to the archdevil for use in hell upon the individuals' final death. It is important to note that not all Infernalists seek others to sign pacts, but those who have more knowledge within the Infernalists do. They believe the more pacts they have signed for their chosen Archdevil in life the better the status of their soul will be in Hell upon their final death.

An Infernalist typically surrounds him or herself with a cult of followers, but keeps the greater part of his or her knowledge a secret. They corrupt others as offerings to the archdevil master, not to spread the secrets for which they have bartered their own souls.

Some might argue that the Infernalists hurt no one because signing a pact is a choice, but what needs to be understood is they prey on the innocent. They look for those who are gullible and/or merely seek help and exploit them.
