Historical Records of the Nebankh Plague
This is a textbook detailing historical retellings of the events that transpired during the Nebankh plague in Cordor. Several documents in here are preserved from the time of the plague for new generations to read over.
This book has been transcribed by Catalina Del Valle, and preserved by the Church of Oghma, in AR 156 for the preservation of history and knowledge.
Cordor's Water is Clean for the next tenday! But not the Temple
Led by Belgus Battlehammer, Sewermaster Blimfrick and Khelgar Stonefist have purged the sewers of Cordor of plagued water, except in the temple district.
Cordor would not have lasted another two weeks without fresh supplys of water, the resulting puge caused an overflow in the temple district, but it is a small cost to pay for the respite from the plague. There is now clean water for all people, of alll districts!
All people are advised to collect as much water as they can and store it in a safe clean place for the duration of the crisis, please use your water supplys sparingly. The Earthkin who have saved Cordor in the face of infighting and discussion led to the point where the people of Cordor suffered
... Moradin save the rest of you all and may he bless the honored dead. *The seal of clain Ironhelm follows the letter*

Notice of Cleaner Water (READ CAREFULLY)
Know that as of this date, and for approximately the next week, the wells in the Upper, Lower, and Merchant district are clean and safe to drink from. Be warned that the Temple District, Outskirts, and Rosewind ARE STILL PLAGUED AS OF THIS NOTICE.
Please use caution when drinking from any well in the city, and know that pre-plague water should still be preferred. Efforts are already underway to sieze this moment and collect more clean water for the future.
Thank you for your consideration. Please mind the date of this posting, and do not rely on its accuracy after about five days' time.

Black Water in Cordor! Warning!
The most recent plague news is that water from vials, canteens or flasks is now not entirely safe for drinking. Tainted water has been purchased from Toman, Griff and Bregren.
Water vials found at the front of the Nomad and the Temple, alongside notices dubbing the water safe has poisoned many citizens.
The public is calling this "Black Water".
Cordorian's are advised to drink water from only sources outside of the Pax!

The Black Water Plague
A number of cases have been confirmed that water purchased from Cordor's Nomad, Social Club, and food vendor Toman have been tainted!
Do not consume these! Do not consume water lying in the streets! Do not consume from the wells!
Experts believe that it is this mutation of the blight that is causing citizens of Cordor to lose sanity.
All citizens are advised to source water from locations outside of the Pax!

Definition of Thaumaturgist.
Lam-Ang, Mulhorandi, says that the definition of "Thaumaturgist" is someone who practices Blood Magicks.
Secondly, some research has uncovered that the term means 'miracle worker' as well as 'a priest with magely powers'.

Regarding the Required Sacrifice
According to the tomb's Guardian, the plagues will cease when a sacrifice is offered. The following are specificly what the guardian has requested of the sacrifice:
- The sacrifice must be a mage, and they must have a dark taint on their soul, typically given through animation of the dead or some other dark manipulation of magic.
- The sacrifice must be given in blood, bones or a corpse.
- The sacrifice's soul will NOT be damned to an eternity of torment, according to the Celestial that spoke to us on the Guardian's behalf. Even to the Mulhorandi, all can seek redemption, even the soul of this sacrifice.

Plague I - The Living Dead
The first plague visited upon Cordor is an invasion of undead. Most of them take the form of spirits, though skeletons and zombies have been seen frequently as well. They have flooded the sewer system beneath the city, and at night, they are typically spotted in the Brambles and as close as the outskirts.
It began as increased sightings of allips beyond the western gates, but quickly spread, and has shown no signs of stopping in the months since.
None of the undead seen so far have been particularly dangerous, but negative energy protection is still advised if you are to engage them.

Plague II - Asps
The second plague came in the form of deadly snakes. Primarily asps, though large cobras weren't an infrequent sight. Patches of sand and dust would appear randomly throughout the city, from which snakes would flood and attack any nearby.
These snakes are HIGHLY poisonous. They aren't terribly difficult to battle, but unless you have a high natural resistence to poison, it's unwise to engage these snakes unless you have plenty of poison antitodes, and a clear path of escape so you may use them.

Plague III - Scarabs
The third plague took the form of small beetle-like creatures known as scarabs. These fat bugs are incredibly spry, and difficult to hit. Once contact is made, however, they go down easily.
They appear to attack in the same fashion as the asps, in patches of suddenly-appearing sand and dust. Like the snakes, they are highly poisonous creatures, capable of injecting poison both through their bite and through projectile spitting.

Plague IV - Disease
The most dangerous plague so far, this plague poisoned all of the wells in Cordor. The water is now tainted and undrinkable, and much of the city is covered filth and flies. In addition to this, some of the wells spew diseased water from time to time.
Around this time, bloody ankhs began appearing all over the city. Any too close tot he spewing diseased water or the bloody ankhs were cursed with some sort of ancient Mulhorandi disease.
The symptoms of this disease varies - it can effect motor functions and mental faculties, but more extreme cases, such as filling the victim with parasites, have been noted. If you have been cursed, contact a city official immediately. Most are equipped with wands and potions that can help you.
For long term treatment, seek out the city triage center in the Temple of Torm. Avoid drinking well water at all costs, use only bottled water, available for free from a number of sources, including the the Nomad.

Plague V - Pestilence and Famine
The fifth plague was an invasion of locusts on Cordor's crops, decimating all of the cotton grown near the city, and killing many individuals who tried to interfere.
If you encounter these swarms, do NOT engage! Run to safety, preferably indoors. These bugs eat through flesh rapidly, and saving crops is not worth the price of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions - Read me before you go poking about
Q - Can we fight the Guardian? A - No. Not directly. He is remarkably powerful, and will defeat unaided mortal forces with ease.
Q - Who is the defiler? A - Nobody knows for sure. The Guardian doesn't know, no matter how many times anyone asks him. Given the length of time that has passed since the plagues began, the odds of us finding the actual defiler (unless they voluntarily come forward) are slim to none.
Q - Why is the Guardian so angry? A - He isn't. None of this is his will - he is a slave, put in place for one purpose by a Mulhorandi Goddess, one of the guardians of their dead.
Q - Can't we just sacrifice any necromancer? A - Moral implications aside, yes, we can sacrifice a necromancer and stop the plagues. They must be a mage carrying the taint of animation.

Frequently Asked Questions - Part II
Q - I've been cursed! What do I do!? A - Most, if not all of the city's government officials have been equipped with Anti-Curse wands. Find one of them, or go to a designated Triage center (The Temple of Torm being the most prominent).
Q - What is Cordor's official solution? A- The Council is trying a number of options before a final decision will be made.
Q - What should I avoid? A - Panic. Don't panic. Keep your head and make good, calm decisions - everything visited upon us so far is treatable. If something looks dangerous, get to safety. Also, don't go acting entitled with the Guardian. He'll curse you.

Warning: Plagued Water
I have personally tested all water sources in Cordor available to the public. It is all plagued, even the wells in the temple of torm. Only drink bottled water bought from reputable sources. Aka the Nomad, The merchants in the merchant district, and reputable Plague Doctors. The Plague Doctors WILL NEVER charge you for clean water.

"Undead Invasion III - Solutions"
I have drafted this to offer you all the solutions to the problems we are presented so far. I warn you, none of them are good, there is no hero, we wont all be rejoicing at the end.
1: The defiler or defilers must be found, or one that can take their position either by self sacrifice or have another dragged to the tomb and sacrifice. It must be a mage capable of siphoning the power from the Gateway to the Afterlife.
2: We hold out, keep as many people alive as possible, burn the victims, lock away the diseased, stand by and watch as thousands die. Though we can be all safe that we haven't broken our morales, or codes.
3: We have contacted the Spirit Cordoria, she is willing to help us fight the Guardian of the Nebankh. She insists the City Leadership agree to this, as once the Guardian is dead, the Tomb will effectively be filled with undead, plagued to walk their for eternity.

About the Guardian
Several months back, a figure who seems to be some sort of powerful mummy began appearing to travellers in the Nebankh Crypt, near a light that supposedly leads to the Mulhorandi afterlife.
He claims that a "Defiler" attempted to syphon power from the Light, and is visiting plagues upon the city until we either deliver the blood of this defiler, or the blood of a similarly-tainted individual. That is to say, a mage carrying the taint of necromantic animation.
These plagues are unpredictable, and varied in strength and significance. He is also known to individually curse citizens. He is extremely powerful, and cannot be defeated through simple force.
