Damage Assessment: Coalition Attack on Sencliff

Written and authored by Amadeo Pneuma in the year AR 147, this is an appraisal of damages inflicted on the island of Sencliff by the joint coalition force of Brogendenstein and Guldorand.

Infrastructural Damage: Significant damage was dealt to four structures on Sencliff. Severe fire damage dealt to the slave pavilion. Severe structural damage dealt to the Feast Hall's west side, and the Bhaalspire's spire.

Significant damage was also dealt to Sencliff's grain stores, which contained the majority of foodstuffs distributed to the non-combatants of Sencliff. As an aside, Sencliff's lack of sustainable land makes subsistence farming difficult - most grain was likely taken from outside sources.

Non-Combatants: The coalition's approach was detected prior to their docking. According to testimonies, no prior warning was given to non-combatants by the attackers. Nonetheless, evacuations of non-combatants were performed.

The evacuation procedure involved organizing non-combatants (namely caregivers, children, infirmed, and elderly) onto sea-faring vessels. These vessels maintained a holding pattern some ways offshore while the ground battle was underway.

A small number of vessels were fired upon by Coalition forces using Sencliff's own ballistae. While it is not known if the coalition knew the vessels were non-combatants, it was clear that these vessels were fleeing the scene.
