Priscilla sighed. She had a whole evening planned with her friends at the Nomad, only for the city to go into curfew due to some vampire or something coming out at night. But she wasnt going to let this ruin her evening. She lit some candles and poured a glass of wine, and opened the window to enjoy the smell of sweet summer grass carried by warm winds. She put on a comfy housecoat and sat with a novel to enjoy with her wine.
Priscilla lulled off to a pleasant sleep, with storybook visions filling her dreams. A fluttering of the curtains stirred her awake, followed by a gasp as she caught a glimpse of a man by the window, features highlighted by moonlight. Pale angular features framed by well groomed black hair, but most of all, stunning red eyes faintly glowing, a juxtaposition of terror combined with his handsome visage.
"How delightful, to come across such a beautiful woman. The blood tastes only as sweet as the flesh is beautiful. And, my darling, you are quite the feast to the eyes." He said, approaching, running his tongue over his pointed fangs.
Priscilla tried backing away from the vampire, gasping as she reached the wall. And in that moment of distraction, the vampire swooped in with unnatural speed, pulling Priscilla into a close embrace. He gazed deeply into her eyes, his magic overcoming her and lulling her senses. And before she knew it she felt his fangs piercing her flesh. Yet instead of pain she felt an indescribable sensation, the vampire's magic ruling over her mind and ensuring it didn't hurt. And shortly after, a drunkenness came over her as her blood drained, leaving her light-headed and weakened.
The vampire pulled his head back, eyes gazing over Priscilla as he held her.
"It would be a shame to kill you, I could never bring myself to do so. Only a wild animal would crush a rose, having no capacity to appreciate beauty." He said, speaking in a soft voice, his touch gentle as he lifted Priscilla and carried her to her bed. Free to move, she lifted a hand and brought it to the vampire's face, his pale skin now rosy after his feast. Intoxicated by the experience she looked up at him with awe. The two spent the evening together, before Priscilla drifted off to sleep, and the coming dawn robbed the vampire away.
Priscilla awakened around noon, feeling dizzy and wondering if the whole thing was just a dream. But a look in the mirror showed the bite mark on her neck. She looked out the window where he came in, realizing she never even got his name. She longed to meet him again, and always left her window open at night, standing by it hoping to catch sight of the vampire once more.
