Bendir Alliance proposals (12/27.24) with Odan's Rebuttals

From Encyclopedia Arelithica 3.0

The Tungsten Turret Situation

The Tungsten Turret is an privately run Temple of Gond owned by High Artificer Methusia.

It is not subject to direct ownership by Bendir nor the Earthkin Alliance. It does not pay Tax or rent to the Alliance.

It is considered an Neutral Entity. It is protected by Earthkin Guard forces due to it being owned by a Gnomish Priestess and her renting of private rooms within her Domicile/Church to Gnomish Scholars. And it is situated on the furthest part of Bendir's Lands.

Individuals within the Tungsten Turret may seek to engage with Politics within the Alliance. However any position within the turret itself or organisations operating out of the turret will not grant any standing in the Alliance innately.

It will continue to recieve protection from the Alliance as a residence of earthkin within Alliance territory. And it's current status as an indipendantly owned and run Church will not be interfered with by the Alliance Merger.

Position suggestions in the Alliance.

With three leaders. One Hin, Dwarf and Gnome, they will not be able to support this alliance alone.

Herein I list the five positions that should make up the individual council for each head of the alliance.

Head [Elected Official of specified races]

Leading Priest of races religion [One each]

Military Leader of Racial Military/Militia [One Each]

Vice-Leader/Official [One Each]

Elder Representative [One Each]

A total of 15 council members. 3 Leaders, 3 Religious Figures, 3 Military leaders, 3 Political Aids and 3 Elders of the specified race.

Decisions are to be made only between the 3 Heads of the Alliance. The Individual councils of 5 are there to support the Head of their race.

In matters of Faith, Religion, Culture or Political issues. The council members could meet their fellow representatives and discuss things with them such as festivals or celebrations.

If needed and properly able to. The positions herin could be temporarily filled by the Head until a replacement is found with urgency.

The council composition does not restrict other roles being made to aid our towns. Such as in the cases of Archivists or Librarians. These are things that can be added seperately, but wont cause additional council seats or require parity.

The heads of the Alliance will always have the final say.

Separation of Rule (v2)

Separation of Rule

26 Deepwinter (1), 185AR

The Ruling council of the Alliance will have three heads. They shall be the elected officials of each representative race in the Alliance. These individuals, being one halfling, one dwarf and one gnome shall compose the ruling council of the Alliance.

The consequent rule over the three cultural seats of the Alliance shall be separated and led by each individual leader of the race regarding the seat.

Ergo, the Halfling Representative shall lead the township of Bendir Dale. The Dwarven representative shall lead the Golden Halls of Brogendenstein, and the Gnomish representative shall lead the Great Grotto.

They shall rule over these places and not interfere in cultural or political ongoings to try and take over/lead one another?s cultural seats in their stead. In the case of an emergency need to transfer power, leadership shall move to that head?s second in command while votation takes place. If there is none to take command in the leaders cabinet, the other leaders may temporarily govern the location while leadership is decided.

Decisions regarding the entire Alliance (eg War or Alliances) must be decided upon by the entire council.

With this method of separated yet joint rule, it prevents the sticking point of the alliance, being that none of us want the others to rule over them. It retains independence, yet makes us reliant upon one another for support, and we have pooled resources in the form of our warehouses and treasuries.

Suggestions on voting for leadership (Earthkin Alliance)

There are a few ways we can handle voting for our respective leaders. Being one Hin, Dwarf and Gnome representative.

Racial Exlusive voting.

Each race votes for their own leader representative.

This prevents any large group from taking over the entire alliance as one voting bloc.

Any singular leader voted in should be unable to sabotage the entire alliance whilst Two thirds hold out.

This voting method also allows us to each name our own Honourary kin.

This method also prevents the feared "Vassalisation" and loss of a seat to another races control within the Alliance.

It will require a code of conduct and standard to be set for our leaders as well.
