Battle of the Trade Post: Crushing Warmonger Defeat
Arelithians,
A decisive and resounding victory was earned by Amn and House Rivorndir in the defense of the Amnian Trade Post.
The warmongering Waterdhavians brought the full might of their navy to bear upon the Amnian Trade Post nestled to the South-West of Arelith, confident enough with superior numbers to bring both the Brogedenstein flagship "the Ironhelm", a Waterdhavian brig named "the Zephyr'' crewed by belligerent Arelithians, and the Waterdhavian flagship 'the Indomitable.' In defense of the post, Admiral Talazar dedicated the Amnian navy while the Rivorndir family crewed the Lordsbane, and sailed to do battle with both the Ironhelm and Zephyr simultaneously, alone.
The Lordsbane and its crew forced the combatant ships to retreat no less than three times, plowing holes and fire deep into their hulls time and time again. In successive battles back-to-back, the Lordsbane and the Rivorndir family proved victorious time and time again, with one enemy ship falling back to repair while the next re-engaged. Desperate and beaten, the Ironhelm fell back for good, realizing that their fight would end in failure, and instead set troops upon the nearby islands to invade the Trade Post on the islands about the area. Their short courage and cowardice proved to be their downfall, and Waterdhavian troops were culled from the islands.
At some point, even the ocean itself turned against the evil invaders, and a great, dark something rose from the water and crashed wave upon wave against the Waterdhavian armada, sinking many and drowning even more. We watched the flagship Indomitable fall to water and divine fire, and cheered as it sank beneath the waves. After the fog of war had cleared, the Trade Post and its walls remained, and what little remains of the Waterdhavian forces limped home in defeat, leaving their pitiful dead in Amnian sand. Losses were high on both sides, with many suffering and slain, but the Trade Post stood while the Waterdhavians and their allies fled.
They tested their hubris and strength upon Amnian cannon and steel. They show that when they cannot rely on cheap children's tricks or foul, underhanded methods, they and their murderous, blood-hungry, invading allies melt and wilt before Amnian fire.
Amn prevails, for Blood and Crown."
