If you deigned to pick up this book, it was likely for sake of the title: You will not find nonsensical, radical ramblings, nor the merits of a cultish perspective, - if such is what charges a likely perverted mind, put down this book. It will not satiate you.
This book instead has the purpose of enlightening those whom have come to question the nature of the world in places such as Arelith.
If you'd the awareness and presence to notice, many cults, violent religious orders, self-driven economic powerhouses, and all variety of malevolent or self-driven individualists exist in this place: And, for good reason.
Arelith itself, is a breeding ground for sin. Adventure, new horizons, wealth, power: All of these things attract the passionate and driven. An unfortunate consequence of such merits, however, is that those who are passionate and driven...?
They are often unnatural. Grave circumstance may have lead them to this way of life: Perhaps the loss of a loved one, or loved ones. Perhaps, a twisted mind: A desire for power, and control, born of desperation. Perhaps, mere greed.
Just as those wrong by fate come to curse it, or those harmed by another, come to hate them: A man changes their perspective early on, based on what has wronged them, or what has been absent in their life.
For that reason, for one to come here, to Arelith: That absence is often power, wealth, fame, and control.
You now likely ask: Why is this important?
Every place in this world has a different culture. The culture is dependent on the nature of the people who live there. Arelith?s nature is a direct result of those whom live within it.
The rampant growth of monsters: The focus on greed, wealth, and material gain. The murderers, the slackened, twisted morality of the people here, and the cults and violent orders that emerge. They are born out of the nature of the people.

Typically, there are two responses to this revelation.
On one hand, you have those that choose inactivity. Typically, these individuals are either complacent in their inability to do anything about the nature of the world, or, simply don't care: The ladder, being reserved for the more foul among us.
On the other hand, you have those that deign to change it. Typically, these individuals have as much color as the first half of the equation.
Often, there are those unbelievably naive who believe they can change the very fabric of the world here, or whom lack the actual intelligence, power, or understanding to accomplish any tangible results.
The addition to this, however, is the very topic of these volumes. The rare, unlikely few, who have the potential to change the nature of Arelith.
To do this: All semblances of weakness that offer negative repurcusions to you directly, must be purged. It is without saying, that none can be perfect or flawless: Thus, it is imperative that you accept now, whether or not your faults would permit you to do what it is necessary to change this place.
How does one know, if they are capable?
That depends entirely on you. To change this corrupt little hellscape, one must change Arelith?s reputation, quell the people within it who cling to its old ways, and have the power to remain intact, and held in high regards by the people.

With the aforementioned knowledge, those with insight would understand that the issue is complex at minimum. With a place corrupt due to the nature of the people, ethically decayed over time, and with the issue deriving from moral nature: It is without question, that the solution to fix such a place, is, at minimum, difficult.
There are many who see Arelith for what it is and have no desire to change it for reasons beyond mere inaction and lack of character: Some, wish it to remain this way.
It's for this reason, that any attempts to warp the climate of this world, would undoubtedly be put to an end the moment they were public should the attempted force to conjure such change, be premature.
To this, I ask you a simple question. How do you change something that has since dug its roots deep - and has since garnered a cultish following, and dauntingly immovable effects?
The answer is simple - but easier said, than implemented.
Step by step.
First, the earth must be poisoned. The dangerous, profitable, violent climate must be quelled. The aggressive and corrupt must be put down: Cults eradicated, tyrants dethroned, evil eradicated.
The profitable nature of war must be twisted into a sin. Just as one twists the mind of a people to obey the whims of a leader, - so too, must you bend the nature of the people to this movement.
Charisma, intelligence, and caution must be one?s primary focus. Your reputation, status, and methods will all be put into question. To twist the people, you must first convince them that a purging of Arelith is needed.
From there, - you convince them why it would benefit them. Mortals are innately selfish creatures - and it is without question, that if not provided ample reason as to why it would benefit them - you would lose support.
It is naive to attempt such things without the people backing you. Let it be known in every documentation of history, that those without the strength of the people, inevitably fail.

Finally, you remove the tree itself. The process of ripping it from its decayed, poisoned roots that nestle throughout the earth is a damaging one. Many lives will be changed as mere consequence.
Those who profit off of the injury of others, will inevitably find their businesses eradicated, or forced to change to accommodate the new Arelith. Those who refuse either - who defy you openly, - must be eradicated themselves.
Those who refuse to adjust to the new, ethical laws, - the proactivity against evil, - the cementation of Arelith as a place where the good, and pure, may find the purpose and strength to make a difference in the world, - must lose any ranks of power.
Titles of nobility will be lost. Some guards may be relieved from duty. Others will be promoted. It is during this time, that you are most vulnerable.
Change frightens the people. Without valid, ethical individuals to sweep in and over stability: The land will surely fall back into the hands of opportunists who offer stability to fit their own selfish ends.
Cults, military orders, and new trade giants will emerge. Do not be naive. They may be weaker than your old foes, - new, and fresh, - but you will have sustained damages from the prior purging of Arelith's corruption.
You must move forward with utmost care and caution, if you are to be successful.
A systematic reaching for control over the entirety of Arelith will be required. Alliances, direct control over territory, the instilling of new institutions, with reputable, trustworthy individuals, will all be required.
The aforementioned support of the people shall be paramount here. Riots, rebellions, and a loss of faith will surely occur without it, - and without valid candidates to fill the gaps of power left by the corrupt, all will fall to disarray.

The intelligent needn't ask why the title is called Weakness. With a bit of thought, I'm certain any of gifted nature will understand.
Instead, however, I assume you might ask: Why?
Why would anyone dedicate the time to write these tomes: When they could simply enact the contents within?
Capacity.
If you struggled to understand what was written, or have read the aforementioned texts, but cannot imagine yourself being successful - then you are not the one capable of enacting anything written within.
I care little of the danger of possessing these concepts, but I understand that I am not someone capable of bringing this change.
To those of you who are like me, or, are simply too unintelligent to understand the contents written: Prepare. Prepare for the day that someone will attempt to change Arelith as a whole and prepare to listen.
I cannot convince you to offer aid with mere words. Instead, I offer you a question. If there was the possibility that one could bring justice, good, and evolution to this isle: Would it not be worthwhile to at least, indulge the idea?
Wait. Listen. Improve. When the time comes, be at the very least willing to lend your ear, to whomever attempts to reshape this land.
As for those of you, who care not? I have nothing to say to you. For those of you who understand, but choose to corrupt this world - I offer you a warning.
You think yourself untouchable. You think yourself above the rabble, be it in power or mind, - and you believe, - that there is little that can stop you.
You are small.

All things come to an end. Those like me, who are wise enough to see your nature - and intelligent enough to defy it, - are not merciful.
You will be found. Your meaningless, petty self-serving nature will not protect you - and in the depths of your questioning as to 'Why' we care, - 'How' you could have reached your end, - there will be naught, but silence.
You made your own end, the moment you embraced the void within your hearts.
Be hopeful that it is not I, or those like me, who bring you to your end.
There are things far worse than death, that await you.
Be patient.
We will give you what you have earned.

A lighthouse ballad
Wisp, AR 158
(The handwriting is light and wispy, difficult to see without strong light, or good vision in dimmer areas)
Deep in shadow
Where shades roam
Not too long ago
Five went to a catacomb
Drow, stately, dark and lithe
Mad maid ready with her spider
Two mages, sword and staff
And a wisp, their admirer
Off they traveled on the path
Along coast, leaving a bloodbath
In search of nightwalkers strong
Weapons swinging deadly along
In below, among the bookcases
There foes attacked with furious faces.
Dealt with ease, deeper down,
Talk of wrestling they used to clown
Soon their quarry they did meet
Fearsome nightwalker quickly beat.
Along the way shadelord served
Loyalty as any guard unreserved.
Their goal met, they came back
Wisp drunk, drow split for haystack
Mages stayed to chat and play
While artistry the maid displayed.
Thus ends our tale of a small outing here
Thank you for lending me your ear.

Proud and dignified | You preview the room. | Gait slow, steady | As certain as your words. | To offend is likely doom.
Your hold to the law | guides you everyday. | But beneath the armor | lies a feeling man. | I'll show another way.
Tall and stong | Death with longbow | While I wish a mother | As loyal as you | I'd never say so.
Another strong woman | Often mild in manner | Your trouble breathing | How long will you last? | I'll carry your banner.
Your implusive actions, | The certainty you hold. | A pity you died young | The burden you left | Made your sister fold.
When I think of you | I think of white. | Of bones, parchment | Of milk, and souls. | You- I'd call a knight.
Black and silver dress, | A dragon in your sleeve. | Through your quiet words | Leave others in the dark. | I'll see what you achieve.
A aster among thistles | Your conduct gave me heart. | Fair of bearing, and color | Your calling you give grace. | Words with sense you impart.
Although you've retired | There is a pressure left. | One who watches critically | Ready to impart judgement | Even for a theft.
In robes of blue I see | When I knock at your door | A quiet conversation | Laughter and flirtation | I pray I do not bore.
Gone to the mountains | The last I saw of you. | I think the rugged stone | And sturdy trees suit. | If our friendship is true.
You'd think it easy | To catch a woman ill. | But you rush so fast, | Fighting the next task, | What bait to make you still?
I will not speak bad | Of one who is dead- | Though there is plenty | I could say about you. | Find peace in earthy bed.
I would still buy | Your solemn demeanor | If not for one day | That a key was dropped. | Tiles should be cleaner.
Like the magic you make | The treasury thrive, | Panther through jungles | of wares for sale | Pouncing on things unlive.
A love of coffee | With a even hand | I would talk avidly | Until sunlight is dim | Glad you joined our band.

Known Zhents and Associates, Part 1
Anon, AR 161
There were upward of twenty Zhents at this gathering. I did not gather complete details on every single one of them, but the following list is of their leaders and hierarchy.
Dreadlord Adenious: Their supreme leader is scarred and mutilated all over his face. He has yellow eyes and wields a glowing double mace. He is both loathsome and yet somehow maintains a commanding charismatic presence. The Zhents follow him unerringly, and no one questions his authority. He personally commands the Blackcloaks which seem to be made up of fallen Paladins.
Lord Thraegal Drakar: He seems to be their religious leader and commands their priesthood. He is a summoner of undead. He is bald with a dark black beard.
Lady Erzebet Arganos: A follower of Loviatar and the leader of the Daggers, the Zhent wing of spies, assassins, and rogues. She wore a purple starfred cloak along with her black and gold uniform.
Kross Ashemark: One of the more public Zhents, he seems to hold a high position in the order, possibly because he is a dangerous warrior. He does not seem to have command over any other troops directly.
Essie Cruz: Long red ponytail, glowing eyes and staff. She seems like a capable fighter, perhaps a dark reflection of Aliana Drake.
Darren Banner: This farmer is much more than he seems. He wears common homespun clothes and wields a pitchfork but fights like a devil. He seems to fight with some martial arts prowess but is also sneaky like a rogue. I observed most of the Zhents with an Eye of Savras and the vast majority were attuned to Fire, but this simple commoner had the aura of death upon him.

New initiates:
Len Ramnus: A fallen paladin made one of Adenious Blackcloaks. He wields an enchanted maul.
Relminlar: Aka Relm, has a chinstrap beard and dreadlocks. He is a mastrer of the shadows and has been tasked with infiltrating the Shields of Guldorand.
Alaric Arrutus: A martial artist.
Others and Allies:
The (C)Kains: Sir Kain, Marton Cain, and Mordred Kain. Apparently a very common surname among the Zhents. Sir Kain is a powerful fighter. Marton Cain is an exile with a red cloak.
Braonin: A Gondite who seems to be allied with their cause. Wears black and is covered in body jewelry.
Ravares Xun'Viir and Siegfriedr Harladrson: representatives of House Xunviir who accompanied the Zhents on a march through the Skull Crags, through the town of Guldorand, and into Soulhaven monastery. It is possible the drow bound her soul to the portal at the monastery.

An Illusion Called Peace
An Illusion Called Peace
Magus Elidyr Hithlain, AR 157
The first time I have ever heard the words spoken "hail Peace" was by a Man with hairless face, whose visage danced with serpents.
He was far from a kind man: he was a necromancer, a tyrant, a dark priest bound by the tight grip of another's Black Hand. He had a regard for peace, though, and through this regard I think is a relevant argument against the idea.
Peace is control.
Peace reigns when the ideals of a singular authority are powerful enough to override all those others who might express themselves. Peace is someone's victory. And while certainly I hold a great love for peace, I only truly love the peace of my own thought. I would hate a peace that I find disagreeable; I would bring violence to it, and therefore dispel it. An unwanted and unnecessary peace is tyranny.
What we should consider as a sibling to the words "I am a lover of peace" are the ones "I hunger for power." Struggle is the eternal father of all things; to subvert that natural state is to subvert progress for the sake of some other motive.
All should beware of those who make peace their distant goal. Conflict is healthy, for it encourages growth: our ideas can only be improved when they are put to their antonym, and oftentimes it is only reality that allows for that. Introspection can be so frequently imperfect.
Of course, there are those who can use conflict to enforce a certain sort of peace. Mayhap it is they who have rotten the fruits of antinomy for the rest of us.
Live freely.

Here written are the principles of living by which even a man of small means may become as a King, and by which this status may be long maintained after it is acquired by one who is both courageous and circumspect, ferocious and restrained.
I. There is poverty.
Pity not the poor, for it is ever within their power to change their own circumstances. Do not depend on charity, for it is fickle. Those who cannot formulate and execute a plan to become prosperous deserve to live in want and despair.
II. There is death.
Pity not the fallen, for they have failed to safeguard what was theirs, or else prized something else above their own lives. Study their ultimate failure and understand it, and spare yourself the same fate - for fate is not carved in stone.
III. There is deceit.
Suffer not those who betray their word, for they devalue it to worthlessness by so doing. They are to be cast out and shunned by all as a pox, or destroyed if they pose any credible threat. Make no agreement that you will not uphold.
IV. There is envy.
Protect what is yours. If you cannot defend it, it does not belong to you. If you can take it and keep it, it is yours. Covet only that which is within your means to take and possess, and do so only from a position of strength and security.
V. There is conspiracy.
Trust your proven brothers, but test them always. Depend on no one if it can be avoided. Avoid complacency, and teach fear and awe to those who have become mired in it. He who cannot keep his subordinates from supplanting him is not a leader.

CASTER finds in hands the JUSTICE. In the centre, the Ur-HEART is placed, and the AUDIENCE shuts eyes. The dreams of the DEAD are removed.
The MIRROR will reflect those dreams, not unmade but with the distance truth demands. The DEAD's eyes will open. The AUDIENCE opens eyes, and the CASTER's will close.
The Ur-HEART will bleed with sympathy, and the CASTER will drink the loose nectar of the divine; what is impure will be excreted, and what is pure will be given to the DEAD. The AUDIENCE's vision will swim, and the memory of uncommitted crimes will haunt them.
The Ur-HEART loses its potency and becomes simply a heart when the CASTER speaks the final words: "Tsli fa uoag'nli, wa mroq duun."
The DEAD will become the second part of the AUDIENCE, and also cease to be. The MIRROR will break, and in the shards will be the memories of the DEAD. They will be buried, lest they grow long in the tooth.
My destiny did not lead me to this crime. I chose this path of my own free will. I stole epiphany and murdered the Priestess. Elidyr wrote this.

Good time of the day, sir or miss. You was visited by the gang that goes by name of Helping Hand. Many settlements are run by corrupt governments these days, there are high taxes, properties are handed from one noble family to another, from one member of noble family to his relatives. Leaving almost no opportunities in hands of hard-working men and women. Therefore, here we are, a consequence of many wrongdoings. We took something from your chest, but do not be upset. These goods will be donated to those in need. There is a poem about Veil, a thief who died rescuing a man fromi jail. Troublesome times create troublesome men. With best regards, Lady Masquerade.
On lightless streets of cobblestone
Where homeless beg, despair born.
A thief who's name was Dicky Kross.
Who was a friend of gain and loss
Came to rescue associate
Behind a creaky, mossy gate.
But he was never seen again.
Fell under swords of King's guardsmen.
He died in failed jailbreak.
He lived too fast, too much at stake.
A life of crime, but noble end.
He gave his soul to free his friend.
Backstreets that never seen the sun.
Mourn and gossip of their son.
Triumph of those who rule the land,
With bribe and blood befouled hand!
Has Cordor seen enough of those
Who hide behind noble clothes?
They judge a thief who stole a dime.
On streets that drown in their crime.
Corrupted crooks in charge again.
Who taxes stole from working men.
You have no hope, you seen no end?
Join the gang of Helping Hand.

Fifth Chancellors Audience, AR 160 - Mention of House Von Brandt
Chancellor: Elspeth Derlson
Cabinet: Commander Anavia Strobl-Klennald, Admiral Khal-Dun, Minister Aaralyn
Revyn Pelaios: By allowing them to continue their operations unhindered, I might question whether your stance on slavery and allowances of Underdarkers on the surface is too lenient. By doing nothing but stymy their status in Cordor, you tacitly allow House Brandt to continue their operations in Sibayad. [He pauses as Anavia whispers.]
Elspeth Derlson sat listening silently to Revyn?s words, while listening to the whispers of Commander Anavia Strobl-Klennald.
Elspeth Derlson: Mhn, continue Goodman Revyn.
Revyn Pelaios: Thank you. My question is this: do you have any further plans for dismantling and or weakening House Brandt, given that you clearly disagree with the ethics of their operations.
Elspeth Derlson: I appreciate your question, the timing is also... conveniently relevant. *She casts a glance at Anavia.* But to return to your matter: the issue is not wether we disapprove or not of the Von Brandts and their actions, but to find the best course of action to punish them...
Revyn Pelaios: [He folds his gloved hands into his cloak-sleeves, listening.]
Elspeth Derlson: Removing them from Cordor weakens the economic capacity of the House, confiscating their goods and properties limits their capacity to commerce and obtain wealth. *A brief pause.* Is that sufficient? Perhaps not, yet we must also consider that they are -not- Sibayad.
Elspeth Derlson: The Merchant League of Sibayad recently publicly expressed its discontent towards being associated with House Von Brandt... and to take the action against the Von Brandts with a use of force could bring us in conflict with Sibayad's true authority... that said...
Elspeth Derlson: It is also a renowned place of slavery even from before that House started to heavily influence its reputation and, perhaps, politics. *She exhales.* To answer your question more clearly, recent events are pushing us to a stricter route against those individuals...
Elspeth Derlson: I believe armed conflict is terrible, no matter the instance, but if necessary to educate them or, if impossible to correct, to remove them, I am not against taking firmer measures.
Elspeth Derlson: *She folds hands in her lap and nods at Revyn.* I hope the answer is satisfactory?
Revyn Pelaios: [He mulls it over for a few moments, then nods.] It is. Thank you, chancellor.
