Address to Axehold Accords
Address made to the Axehold Accords Council by then High Sheriff Kesa Hillside 174 AR
Leaders of the Accords and their Representatives. Welcome.
First let me say Thank You for joining us this day. It has been too long since the members of this alliance have gathered. While the Accords have remained strong and our many cities commitment to each other’s defense firm, it is still important for communication to remain open.
Thus, why I have gathered you here this day, to make two important announcements. Both made in person and face to face as to show the respect I have for each of your positions. Positions I know which often allow little time.
With that in mind I shall cut the marrow of the matter. Effective this day, the Republic of Guldorand is withdrawing its membership from the Axehold Accords. The reasons for this are many, but of most important is the current Accords are viewed as a violation of both this city’s Charter and the vision the Founders have for it.
While I understand and give thanks to the Accords for the many long years they have been in place, I can not deny the truth of things. Guldorand has changed. We are no longer the small village upon a mountains side, but a large city and nation under the rule of new leaders.
Instead Guldorand will focus on individual agreements between settlements. Agreements you shall be provided this day for review and consideration. One each for Bendir and Brog.
This now leads to my second matter. While I hold no ill feelings to the Chancellor of Cordor or its people, the recent changes put into effect by the King have had me question our two settlements relationship. Guldorand has and continues to stand for the freedom of all good people and under the Founder’s guiding hand we have never been closer to such. So, it was with great personal grief that I received news on how the King of Cordor installed magical Lodestars to monitor his own subjects.
Guldorand can not and will not seek to press our beliefs upon another nations, but nor do we have to stand idle in support of a leader intent on suppressing his people. Thus, I declare starting this day, all trade between Cordor and Guldorand to end until such time as the Lodestar network is removed and the city’s people safe to walk without fear once again.
