A Minmir Proclamation: Eleasis 182
One must ask themselves; what is man's nature? To die. To scuttle along this plane in desperation, longing, seeking greater purpose. Inclined by its curse of free will to express itself in all manners; even the dangerous, foolhardy, and chaotic. It is through sheer force of will that the Lord wrings order and stability out of this maelstrom. He who guides us along the path, ever humbling us in His grandeur and terrifying majesty. He who has blessed us with a calling greater than any one person. Our faith is the weapon most feared by our enemies. For thereby shall we lift our people up against those who would destroy us.
Within this God-fearing society, there are expectations upon each of us, commandments of God. A duty that separates us from savagery and our service in such is that which measures its magnitude.
There is one who is continuously attributed to me, Ser Artharg Monolith, they say I support him and in turn, condone the actions he has committed. I do not. Nor do I need to unravel the complexity of the duty in which Artharg is compelled. I will however clarify once and for all what is God's truth. Lest I be struck dead so help me in the name of The Emperor, The Godson, and The Spirit of His Hatred.
Minmir is Bane's.
It is my Commandment to oversee the care and defense of the Keep, the altars there within, and the surrounding earldom as is defined as Minmir by the accompanying appendix.[*] The halls of the Keep are neutral grounds and sanctuary to any who kneel to Bane. Multiple defensive measures are in place that would ward off and discriminate against those who would attempt to deceive the Lord and leech upon His bounty. I put full faith in Him and should I speak untrue, should I prove truly unloyal as is said. I will be justly barred and promptly smitten with the full force of Hatred.
It has already been mentioned by my brethren but it bears repeating. The sheer absurdity of claiming myself or anyone in Minmir a Cyricist is insulting to even the layman's intelligence. The Queen herself has been and remains a proud member of the Minmir family, do you mean to insult her as well with such wonton remarks? She is well-informed on everything that takes place here. Are you not able to simply admit that we have reached a point of disagreement on such a scale as to draw conflict? For the same reasons as I corrected myself before, to fling such ugly words around without proof does not but make the Mad God smile.
In the execution of my duty, I have never before needed to wholly banish an individual let alone a group of faithful [The Blackshields]. I have forbid individuals from privileges of the flock, but I have always allowed passage so that pilgrimage and respite within the walls could be enjoyed by God's slaves. This does not make me beholden to every action of every pilgrim who visits, it does not matter how long their residency is with Minmir. The only facts that matter as to which I hold any semblance of responsibility or support are as follows:
*If the occurrence takes place within the boundaries of the Earldom of Minmir
*If the occurrence is at the direct behest of my command.
This being the case you must now ask yourself. Where is the obligation to extradite Artharg? His crimes were committed in the absence of any of the accused individuals, let alone anyone in Minmir. The affiliations with enemies of the state that were identified are not ones shared by Minmir, and once more are taken solely under the discretion of Ser Monolith. I have given no command to the Ser to act as he does.
I say then; capture him yourself. It is not within my obligations to perform what you have failed to do for so long. Leave the rest of Minmir to be at peace, let these holy halls not be tainted with the reckless pursuit of one man.
