(T)CORDOR ATTACKED BY DEMONIC INCURSION
CORDOR REPELS
DEMONIC INCURSION
The streets of Cordor were beseiged by a sudden attack from Doomsayer Cultists in the midday sun. Immediately on the scene were few Elite Guardsmen, and only a handful of ill-prepared adventurous folk that took up arms immediately to repel the invasion. The Doomsayers quickly cut down the few peaceful folk in the streets, before the Cordorian Guard came to our aid. With the help of our Commander, Urshak Dragonskin, the initial wave of Doomsayers were fought. In the fight, a portal to the nine hells was opened by the demonic worshippers, and all manner of Demonic Lords poured into the street.
Our city guard repelled the forces, but found that a guard had slipped inside the portal. Fearing more may fall to the same fate, Commander Urshak prepared to enter the portal. He dared not risk the entry without proper reinforcements, and sent to a call to arms. Before he could finish his message, His Majesty the King, accompanied by a large force of Elite Guardsmen, came out of the Palace Grounds!
Commander Urshak ordered a scouting expedition to save the guardsman, and prepared himself to enter the portal when the guards did not return. The King accompanied the force that entered, not knowing if they would ever return.
"Something needed to be done, and I'm not leaving a guardsman behind." The commander states about the decision to enter the gate.
"When we entered, we found the guardsman and the scouting party dead, surrounded by an army of demonic forces led by four aspects of Paush the Dread Lord himself! When we entered it was a slaughter. I struggled with the aspects of Paush alongside our King, but many guardsmen died."
In the fight, it is said that His Majesty's body was slain several times, but brought back by a healer on the team. Never can it be said that the King would volley the life of another before his own, having sacrificed himself to the pains of death for his city many times over. When the fight seemed won, a gate was opened from Cordor and the parties retreated. The city streets were strewn with dead, and a large crowd had formed to receive the victors and help bury the fallen.
"Cordor's defense is always my priority. I'll discuss with the Chancellor if she wishes retribution." Commander Urshak said of forming a response to the attack. Not much is known as to the reason for the incursion of Doomsayers to Cordor. Guldurand has a writ available for brave souls to venture to their fortress and deliver justice against those who seek to surplant the peaceful people of this isle. While there, we ask that all look for the signs of what they may be planning.
Families of the fallen are to be informed of the monument that will be constructed to honor those that gave their life to the defense of Cordor and her citizens. There is nothing that can hold the weight in equal measure of a life given for others. While we try to hold their memories, and comfort those close to the dead, there is little consolation we can do to give back what was lost.
"A heavy price was paid today." - Commander Urshak Dragonskin of the Cordorian Guard

"Weary is the head that never bows in reverence for some higher purpose, for they like to shoulder all burdens and give none away."
' A Very Wise Woman
How little time do we give ourselves to consider our legacy on this isle. Instead many the travellor here thinks of their road ahead, or doggedly runs from the one behind. It can twist and gnarl the bark of conversation and friendship when one never seeks to calm themselves of their worries and duties in fellowship. We are not the sum of our Gods, or our people that we serve. We are the smile in someone's memory, we are the voice of someone else's conscience, we are the hand that others might hold before they drift away in dreams. Do not hold yourself so tightly that you fail to live the life you daydreamed of when you were younger.
Take a moment today and find your reflection. Greet that person today. What have they to say to you? Would you take a moment and trully listen to that face? Just for a moment. Sometimes the only voice we need hear in our darkest hour, is our own.
Take care of yourselves today, travellors. Yours faithfully,
