Brand New Cordorian Renovations
Just as the Cordorian elections were called, the city planners opened some of the nrew renovations that have been freshly constructed for a number of grand and well-used buildings in Cordor!
The Library, while a little darker than one remembers it being, has received new bookshelves, doors, and a few new rooms that expand the use and the area of the already large building. With new bookshelves and new rooms, this already important public function is perfect for the perpetual growth of our fair city!
Both the Meeting Hall and the Guard Barracks in the Government District have received an upgrade too, though the Barracks is where the renovations truly shine. At a rough estimate, I would say it has more than quadrupled in size! With a expanse of more chests, quarters, a grand archive, a training room, and many more, it is a welcome upgrade for those that risk all to keep us safe within the walls.
The recently opened Hall of the Golden Crown, and Waynolt Manor have received a redesign, more quarters, and also a wide array of shops! There are now four in the Hall of the Golden Crown, and six within the Waynolt Manor for a total of ten new shops! The new quarters are warm, with lush red carpets and bright white stone, warm fireplaces and comfortable bedding and seating. Truly homes to be proud of!

The Hall of the Golden Crown Open to Public
Recently, the Hall of the Golden Crown held its opening ceremony, in which dozens of good folk attended to engage in conversation, merriment and see the sights of the renovated temple, owned by the Rivorndir family. There was even music, provided and played by the wondrous bard of the Lilting Lotus, as people explored the grand building.
Though the main altar may be dedicated to Siamorphe, the patron of the Divine Right of nobility, there are other altars to such deities as Tymora, Kossuth, Tamara, and more, providing options to those who may not see an altar to their faith in the Red Temple or other temples in Cordor.
Atop of this, following Siamorphe's teachings, the building also acts as something of a museum to the notable noble families of Cordor. Statues and written histories of the Waynolts, the Derlsons, the Rivorndir, and more are on display within the building for public viewing.
When asked for a comment for the paper, Lady Antoinette Rivorndir stated; "I have opened the temple to encourage more piety in Cordor", and that she was happy that her hard work, and that of those who assisted, was taken so well by those who attended.

The Hilarious Arrest of the Colourful Pickpocket!
Dear reader, I have a tale of deduction and intrigue, of criminal idiocy and the Military that outwitted them! Thanks to the Cordorian Military, the Halfling thief known as "The Colourful Pickpocket" has been labelled a Pariah! But how did we get to this point? A most interesting story!
The Colourful Pickpocket is a character that has plagued Cordor in the most recent times; a Halfling male who usually dresses in colourful garb, who's name likely begins with a "B" but often goes by "Jeff." The individual is responsible for picking many pockets, thieving from many citizens, and even trying to sell someone back their own head - and when they refused, he used it as a football!
He made a grievous mistake when he tried to rob one Tamaris, but the quick-thinking Captain Riza asked Tamaris to play along, and faked a charge of Disturbing the Peace, calling the Halfling to join them as a witness to her "crime." Once the Hin was inside the Barracks under lock and key, they warded against teleportation and charged him with his many crimes!
The Colourful Pickpocket foolishly walked into his own arrest, but we can only imagine the dumb expression on his face as he tried to escape via a Portal Lense that didnt work. When that failed, he attempted to flee on foot, but not before Tamaris got her revenge by beating him to the ground and tying him up before he was arrested and labelled a Pariah.
As General Gaist stated at the time of arrest; In the end, crime doesnt pay. If you want to do your part for the city, and believe yourself as quick-witted and adaptable as the good Captain Riza, you can join the Military as they're recruiting! Head down to the Barracks, or find a member to sign up!

Devon Marshal Found Innocent!
After weeks of deliberation and debate, testimonies and trials, presiding judge Justiciar Isabel found Devon Marshal innocent of the charges of murder in his slaying of the Rakshasa, Aranzir Amante. Nathaniel Brightburst took to Devon's defence while Magistrate Vallerie Walvish acted for the Prosecution, and both rigorously questioned a series of witnesses and experts in order for Justiciar Isabel to come to her conclusion.
However, despite their victory, Mr. Marshall was stripped of his authority as a Magistrate of Cordor. Public opinion on the incident is divided, with some claiming that he did only his duty as an honourable Cordorian by removing a threat to the city and its good citizens, while others are worried about a rise in possible vigilantism or that Devon escaped punishment altogether.
Regardless of opinion, the court's decision was clear; the Blessed Bolt that Devon used, plus the room full of witnesses, only proved that Lord Aranzir Amante, the previous Trade Minister of Cordor, was indeed a nefarious Rakshasa - a creature hells-bent on acquiring power and wealth, surrounding itself in selfish opulence, at the cost of any who get in their way. What would Cordor be if this entity succeeded in their plan to take the Chancellor's seat, and what would they do with such great power? We will leave that up to the reader to envision.
What does this bode for the Fallen Stars? Who is set to inherit Lord Amante's great and expansive wealth and legacy? And is Aranzir, a Rakshasa for whom death is a strange concept, to go elsewhere or seek vengeance in another shape? Only the future will tell, dear reader, but we can enjoy this moment of relief while we have it.

Corruption Magistrate Slays Aranzir the... Rakshasa?
At the latest Chancellor's Discussion, an attempt to broker peaceful talks between the current administration and the libellers of the board, chaos erupted when Corruption Magistrate Devon Marshal declared Trade Minister Aranzir Amante a Rakshasa and slew him with a Blessed Bolt!
Witnesses claim that as the discussion was winding down, Devon Marshal - a known Magistrate of Cordor, Warden of Darrowdeep, and member of the Cadre Metallicus - took to the floor to declare his intent, loudly and to the entire room. He stated;
"In my time as Magistrate I have dedicated my time in Cordor to its protection. Against corruption and tyranny. As such, I cannot abide by corruption as it festers in our city and even within our government."
Witnesses state that it was at this point that Devon Marshal produced a crossbow and a handful of crossbow bolts. He muttered an incantation to Bless the bolts, and loaded one into the crossbow, before continuing;
"By the light of Bahamut, I declare Aranzir Amante a Rakshasa, and the Blessed Bolt will hold my words true!"
At this, he drank a Truestrike Potion and shot Aranzir immediately after it. Witnesses claim to have seen a flash of white light as the bolt struck true, a loud sound like water rushing to fill a hole, and then Aranzir lay dead on the floor from the singular shot.
The room erupted into bedlam and panic as Cordor Military quickly formed a protective line between officials and any further attacks. Devon was escorted to the jail, where he was stripped of his authority from both Cordor and Darrowdeep, and after being raised, Aranzir was escorted to his home.
The Chancellor, having witnessed this with the twenty-other participants, stated that there would be a trial to see to both Devon and Aranzir's fate. Did the Blessed Bolt slay Aranzir because he is a Rakshasa? If not, then has Devon has committed a murder in cold blood in front of two-dozen witnesses?
