"Seldarin bless Tel'Quessir."
Aeterna Corioli
I share with you today a story presented to me with honor and reverence along with the blade by a kindly stout fellow called Glanor dur Authular, the Hidden Root of The People. He assured me he knew first hand of the following as he travelled with Xv'drasr Fa'nda and was along side her as she passed on vowing to see her blade to The People along with her story.
The Aerterna Coriolis (some might recognize the traits of a Moonblade) was once weilded by a drow known as Xv'drasr Fa'nda. She was born to a lesser house in Andunor, the third daughter of her house.
When she came of age she was sent to the temple for training and given an Ar'tel'quess slave named Jasnor to serve her.
As the years passed and she grew in strength an uneasiness grew within her, something felt off but, within such a dark place what can one do?
Eventually the time came for her to be tested and become what is called a Yathrin. The high priestess set her to test to be: That she would have to kill her slave as a sacrifice to her dark goddess.
This tore at her. She had grown fond of her slave and tried to work out how to spare him. The day came for the testing and she broke down telling the high priestess of her dilemma. The high priestess left the room, and returned wiht Jasnor demanding that Xv'drasr slay him in front of her.
She could not do it.
She found herself pinned, held in place by magic with a few utterences of the high priestess . And it was then that others in the room were sent away and the high priestess revealed the symbol of Eilistrea to her.
Her life was spared and she learnt of the goddess who sought the freedom of the drow.
Eventually she learned too of the truth of Aurushnee and of Corellon, and of the Seldarine and the lies that the entire society she had known her whole life was based on.
But to go to the surface or "the Sunlands" as they called them was the embrace of death.
So she chose a new name for herself, Lilith and she moved between the underdark and the sunlands doing good where she could and trying to bring information about the plans of Andunor and the drow to the surface.
Few accepted her but, on a moonlit night, Corellon called to her and she answered him becoming his holy warrior, his Paladin. She fought against forces of darkness. He blessed her with his blade and bid her all she could. Eventually she met her end int he ruins of Benwick trying to turn the tides against the fiends there.
Galnor said he was beside her as she lay dieing and his magic could not save her.
She entrusted this blade and story to him to pass on to the Voice of the Seldarine that the blade would know the peace that she never could and ther story would not be lost.
