Note the Briz'zek's phrasing:

"let it be known throughout Andunor, and the Devil's Table"

not so subtle implication that Devil's Table is somehow no longer a part of Andunor.

A dangerous game.

Let it be reminded that Andunor, in the remarkable Wisdom of the Great Founding Houses (which is indeed woefully underappreciated by the ignorant masses inhabitting the City) was founded as a Trade City consisting of, originally two, districts with strictly defined spheres of influence, built around the neutral ground of the central Trade Hub overseen by the Hubmaster.

This system was conceived learning from the ruinous failures of the past to provide a mechanism for the peaceful dispute resolution between the Great Houses.

The system has worked reasonably well for the past decades, granting us environment in which we can all pursue our ambitions.

The aformentioned wording is, thus, dangerous, because it means that either:

A) Vaunted Freth have appointed and authorized Archduchess of House Briz'zek to break the city's founding pact and secede Devil's Table from Andunor, which, quite obviously, ultimately means war - a self-destructive war between the Great Houses where the only definite outcome is the death of Andunor as we know it;

B) Briz'zek are being careless in their wording and/or misguided in the manipulative implications of their authority over the Devil's Table as an elected self-government, which, again, ultimately increases the risk of a conflict within the city.

This is a truly beautiful and well thought system we're enjoying here, which balances sovereignity with with the mutually agreed obligations for the prosperity of all.

Let's not overstep our boundaries in pretending we know a better system.
