Greetings to those who walk the sands,
This is a special edition of Sibayad's Citizen Update, dedicated to our victory, to those lost, and to the celebrations ahead!

VICTORY Over Krakscragger:
The undead pirate Captain Krakscragger launched a full-scale assault upon Sibayad - bringing with him rotting hordes, a monstrous kraken risen from the depths, and an attempt to poison our very lifeblood: the aquifer.
We are proud to say he failed.
Thanks to the efforts of Sibayad's defenders - from Arbiters and Merchant Marines, to citizens, the Church of Minmir, and allies of all stripes, the attack was repelled.
Even the water elementals of the aquifer turned against Krakscragger in the end, stirred by our conviction to protect what is ours.
Sibayad remains unbroken - and we remember those who stood with us.
Project Clarity - Complete:
The water purification system beneath Sibayad, engineered by Viceroy Nieri Aetherforge, is now fully operational. Its mechanisms were crucial in neutralising Krakscragger's poisoning attempt and will serve to protect the city's water for generations to come.
The aquifers are cleansed and safe. Clean water has returned to our wells and baths. Our deepest thanks to all who laboured on this project.
The Gala of Grandeur:
We now turn from battle to celebration. All are invited to the Gala of Grandeur, marking one full year of the Vizier and Council's rule.

Role Change for the Commander of the Arbiters:
After a year of tireless work, Sinaid Ruharin has stepped down from his role as Commander of the Arbiters and returned to diplomacy, taking the mantle of Lord Herald. Sinaid rebuilt the Arbiters from nothing - recruiting, training and organising the force that now defends our laws and our lives. He leaves the post with the city stronger than he found it.
Jassyn Velestra has assumed command of the Arbiters and performed with distinction during the recent undead attack. We welcome her to the post and thank her for her swift, decisive leadership. She carries the banner forward.
Tax Adjustment:
To support Sibayad's growing civic projects and frequent public events, the city tax has been raised from 5% to 7%.
This adjustment ensures that festivals such as the Gala of Grandeur, infrastructure like Project Clarity, and other ongoing initiatives have the funds they require.
While this rate may be reviewed in future, for now, we ask our citizens' understanding as we continue to invest in the city's future.
Crafter's Convention Approaches:
Craftspeople and traders are invited to join the Crafter's Convention - a celebration of invention, trade, and artisanry. Contests, public showcases, and prizes await.
