As asked I've been talking with the farmers and their staff about the damage done to the farmlands and how, if they can be, fixed. While theres a lot of differing of opinion the following list is agreed upon by almost all who work the land.

1. Damage to the soil.

Theres a lot of guess about how this is happened but most agree that it is down to the loss of Chauntea's blessing and the Talonite's doings that has tainted the soil. The trouble here is that the "fix" would be to allow the land to lie fallow, thats leaving it without any crops, for a year while spreading fertilizer and manure so its ready again for the following season.

Seeing as we can't do that for the entire farmland its been suggested that one field lies fallow every year until the soil is healthy again, another is to hold a festival to Chauntea in hopes of a miracle.

2. Failing Crops

The soil is being leached, the crops are starting to fail and swarms of rats are now taking what they can from the land. Its a big bloody mess which is only going to get worse. The quickest fix is to replace the entire farmland's worth of crops but until the soil is sorted its a bit pointless.

Other ideas put forward by the farmers is to rotate the crops around the fields, moving the cotton to where the nuts currently are and so on, so there is at least some harvest. Olaf suggested burning the crops down and letting their ashes restore the ground, not many takers on that idea though.

3. Worker Morale

This one is a big one. The farmers and their staff, me included, aren't happy with what happened and there is a fair bit of anger at the government for letting someone threaten the livelihoods of so many while ignoring the words of those who knew better.

Farmer Haywood and his family are considering moving to Guldorand in hopes of a better chance than under Cordor's rule. Others are confused as to who is looking after the farmlands now and if Lady Waynolt is still overseeing them.

No fixes suggested, just a lot of anger.
