Poetry of Myon: Volume III
A thin volume bound in emerald green leather. It is unmarked by any one author, and in fact seems to contain the works of many different authors, judging by the different styles of handwriting within.
not enough by Rhudaeil
i have to
let you aim
so that when
you do not
hit my heart,
and instead
get my shoul-
der i'll know
what you meant
and there's no
one to blame.

Grief is a Guest of Honor by Lakas Larthanien
Grief is to be watered with tears
So that it will blossom
Nurse and cherish, carefully tend with shears
So it will not go to waste
Never turn it from your door
Grief, if comes knocking
Bid it welcome, show it hearth's roar
Give it a place to stay
What your guest of honor tells you
Hide it well in your heart
Teachings not found in volumes old or new
Nor bought with glit or shine
Are wisdom your grief imparts
Your eyes are made for cries
Let those tears be wept
After all a new sun will rise
When you've a spring in your step
And when grief's bloom sees summer's sun
It will wilt to the ground
Even still, you will think of it as a flower
Memories are pure as dearest gold
Nor did your guest stay overlong
It took another journey
Yet it will come to you again
Closer than you care to foresee

Untitled by Lakas Larthanien
We hold life's transcendent pains apart
We bear grief and disappointment's fire
But the banner of our sorrow's ire
Flutters in the winds of the departed
But the biting flames poison our spirit
Singing spirits smothered by corpses
Straining to break free, but keeping silent
But no bliss will ever change this pain
The dignity of this restraint
The tension; this ecstasy of hopeless prison

Sojourn by Anonymous
Above the rippling waves has grown
A solemn, rocky highland built of bricks
With chasms black and floods of crimson rocks
And boundaries woeful of the land unknown
I see the dreams, so marvelously sad
The creaks of land so solid and encrusted
Where wave and tide upon shore are busted
While singing by the mournful twilight's bed
And canvas in the dark plies a quiet course
Trembling with an ancient mystic force
The force of wind and raspy, breathless ripple
In ways of constant dare and righteous struggle
My boat is led along by shearing tumult
And skies are lit with starry, shining sparkle.

hopes by Kylantha Valynssa
little sunlight, brings us hope
we will rise up in growth
trickling droplets, bring us life
sprung fresh from her eyes.

Turbulence by Kylantha Valynssa
The blue sprawls out before me, endless
the surface gnashes and churns,
a crushing, dangerous turbulence.
A brisk breeze stings my cheek,
I breathe deeply, and my eyes fall close.
Awake, I find myself falling, sinking
Blue turns to black, a creeping darkness
My mouth opens, but nothing comes forth
Nothing but a strangled gasp.
The doubt swallows me.
When the black is all that remains,
the pressure crushing hope
A ray of warmth shines, piercing all.
Doubt no longer, I open my mouth, my voice clear
And I smile and rise.

One More Sunset by Vaylani Moontear
What I would not give, love,
for just once more
A somber sweet sunset,
my hand in yours,
My life, my soul...
the gods I now implore.
One last chance to say the words
I could not before
When time passed slowly
between us, ignored
What I would not give love,
for just once more.
How longs my heart
for the gentle smile you bore
That rendered all else
important no more
My life, my soul...
the gods I now implore.
I still remember the exquisite expression that you wore
The first, the last, and all the times
to me you swore
What I would not give love,
for just once more.
And while I should not hope,
still my hope soars
To reach you wherever you are,
on distant shores
My life, my soul...
the gods I now implore.
And though I weep that from me,
the heavens tore you, my love
I would sacrifice all and forever more
What I would not give, love,
for just once more
My life, my soul ...
the gods I now implore...

The Silence Before the Storm by Vaylani Moontear
Tis only the silence before the storm
The quiet interlude between the horns
When all hold their breath as one
Listening for the call to war to come.
Of these precious moments, make the most...
So gather your beloved, and bring them close
To share your laughter, allay their fears...
Say your farewells, and spill your tears.
Who knows whom the fickle winds will sweep?
Whose blood the enemy blades shall reap?
Whose shattered smiles the earth shall keep?
Whose souls shall lay down to forever sleep?
So of these precious moments, make the most...
Gather your beloved, and bring them close
Share your laughter, allay their fears...
Say your farewells, and spill your tears.

Heart's Home by Rhudaeil
Over the verdure, nearest the cliffs,
where the horizon's nimbus meets the beryl expanse of the sea,
there is a place.
It is thatched roof over four walls of pale clay,
tiny rays of sunlight over these ramparts of warmth,
and a stone tunnel to the sky.
Here there is love,
always three smiling faces to greet,
the gentle chirp of awakening,
that sounds through the trees of morn.
Mother,
Father,
Child.
Here,
you are forever.

sanctuary at midnight by Rhudaeil
rains at midnight fall
from a residence of stars
onto oakwoods in retreat.
they are quiet now
endlessly sinuous limbs
stretching to touch
their piece of heaven.
can they be blamed?

dh'ni by Rhudaeil
the day we met it was cold outside;
you told me that insects are
evil thoughts, borne from the
minds of selfish men
and that today,
the chill meant
only good
reigned.
