The following entries were transcribed from the Sea Leopard's ship logs by the last known Captain of the Sea Leopard, Imryll Valaathlar. They cover from 140 AR to the last known entry before the ship was seen sailing south beyond Sibayad.

Towards Skal by Bonzo Rippert

Perri, Vicho and Calixta joined the voyage. We's gonna git to see what the frozen town of Skal offers for ol' Bonz.

Let's hope their hooker houses ain't too stinking icy. My balls don't like 'em frostbites.

Day 14, Month 5 (Mirtul), 140 AR Bonzo Rippert

Skal's Ancient Treasure by Bonzo Rippert

I bleeding knew that freezing stinktown had something worth my while. There's something big buried under Skal. All 'em fecking experts was yammering about "archeology and history" and how nobody's opened that shite.

Well I's gonna git it open and grab all the treasures. There was speech of diamond golems. Walking diamonds mean a goddang fortune for the right buyer, not to mention what else they's got stored under that sodding Snowtown.

Definately worth a frostbite. Wish ol' Jimbo could've seen me kill one of 'em dimwit towners. Mook tried to cut the Bonz! Harhar!

I done killed a man in plainsight. The guards ain't strong enough to hold one Captain Rippert, let alone a posse of pirates. We's gonna git that door open or bleed all things alive until it opens outta the sheer fecking screams of those mooks tryinna keep me off their treasury.

Day 16, Month 5 (Mirtul), 140 AR

Fecking chickens! by Bonzo Rippert

I's seen the crew's vast number become a problem. Captain's gonna make some cuts. Most loyal sods who ain't caused me trouble will stay. A smaller crew is stronger and easier to manage instead of a goddang pirate army.

I didn't sign up to play the sodding baby daddy of every troubled sailor in Sencliff. Let 'em rot. I'll start causing ruckus on the mainland with my actual crew instead of lissening to these crybabies.

The crew and I's all anxious to see what's behind that door. Next time we hit Skal, we's gonna git all 'em treasures. Or the town's gonna git gut.

Banites' Business by Bonzo Rippert

There's some mook that has approached one of my lads about a gig. Supposedly some of 'em fancy arse banites is yammering about taking the island over.

Now I ain't no religious nutters' little bitch! They oughta have a hefty offer nobody can refuse. Otherwise I'll sprinkle their guts on the sands and wipe my bum on their cut faces.

Skal can wait for a bit. After our last journey for the Door turned all kinds of bloody, we oughta let 'em stir. Let 'em think what happens when you mess with the Wraithkings...

I left 'em villagers my offer: 15,000 goldpieces for the feller who opens that fecking door for ol' Bonz.

Day 15, Month 11 (Uktar), 140 AR Bonzo Rippert

Knife-ear Sale! by Bonzo Rippert

We set out hunting for easy marks near Bendir.

Turns out my captainly sodding instincts proved me wrong. We got ourselves one of 'em live elves. I said we's gonna git lots of coin selling him down Underdimes. Ol' Bonz gave 'em dirty dark elves a fine auction. We's 450,000 richer with just one elf!

Banditry and hunting inland was smart. The crew's been reminded who runs this dogshow.

Day 14, Month 3 (Ches), 141 AR Bonzo Rippert

Dumb fecking dwarves! by Bonzo Rippert

Our banditry was stopped by this giant dragon midget!

Next time we oughta git some witches to kill 'em. It ain't dwarves or the Cordorian guard, hell not even Amn, but some small druid! We's gonna git 'em back at some point.

They made ol' Bonz write some petty apology. Harhar! I got out ALIVE with a piece of paper! I's gonna continue raiding. Let 'em think we's gone.

Dumb dwarves ain't too smart despite 'em fancy "bureycracies".

Day 2, Month 7 (Flamerule (Summertide)), 141 AR Bonzo Rippert

Captain Ripheart's return by Bonzo Rippert

It's been months since my early departure from life. All's goddang foggy, but I heard 'em bad news: ol' Bonz was offed by that traitorous maeztican!

I was killed by 'em witchy illusion tricks, my heart was carved outta my chest and body thrown into the oceans. Umberlee nibbed my leg off, but otherwise I's all intact. The Gnomish Mayor and Maeztican BItch of a Witch done made themselves rulers of the Isle.

Months have assed yet they ain't done squat other than brand Captain Rippert a failure! Revenge has gotta wait. Captain RIPHEART is done dying and ready to continue 'em grim exploits on the seas.

Blackbourne's tricks got me back breathing, but something ain't right. Nothing feels or tastes the same. Maybe I's got a condition of 'em awful "undeaths" but we's gonna see.

Day 3, Month 6 (Kythorn), 142 AR Bonzo Rippert

The Ripheart Condition by Bonzo Rippert

It's been a week or two. I ain't dead yet but some of my skin's peeled off. My blood's all fecking strange too.

I ain't told 'em crew boys nothing but they's seen some. No doubt Albert's got nothing to say what's causing it. We ain't no priests or nothing! 'Em lads must've done something off the book when bringing me back.

I's been doing some thinking on Calixta. I could rally up a buncha lads to git her, but now the Isle has two crews. Sodding pissing contests mean Sencliff's defenses git bashed and I ain't having that. I oughta ponder whether to take revenge or let her do her witchy shenanigans.

We'll see. I ain't thunk too much about it. I's too bleeding happy to see my LOYAL sods. We'll git to business in to time unless 'em boys got a change of heart too. Harhar! Funny.

Day 19, Month 7 (Flamerule (Summertide)), 142 AR

Bonzo Rippert

Poor Man's Vengeance by Bonzo Rippert

My revenge is gone. Calixta's got herself gobbled up by some goddang Underdimes' swine. While it serves the maeztican to git gut, it means I ain't gonan git her blood myself. Or my heart. Some of my crew calls it fortune, but I ain't ever felt so unlucky.

My time spent down in 'em ocean depths have taken a toll on my body. I ain't recovering as much as I's yearning. While my loyal lads want me to keep 'em in the blood business, I ain't got the heart for it. It is time to start seeing 'em prospects.

My lads need the best sodding captain who ain't no witchy finger-wiggling traitor, I says! I've put a big arse announcement of my possible retirement. Should nobody worthy be found, I's gonna make one last gig with 'em crew boys. One last score for ol' Captain Ripheart.

Cordorian navy's heads, knife-ear slave trading, raiding Skal, breaking bread with 'em big names and forming the most vicious pirate crew ever known: The Wraithkings. May Calixta rot in hell. It's been a wild ride with my lads, but Luskan calls. It is time for Captain Ripheart to claim bragging rights in Luskan... unless there ain't no worthy successor.

Captain Jimbo - Day 1 by Jim Marllson

Findin' myself surrounded by a bunch of memories of my best pal, Bonzo Rippert. He done all these things, made this life fer himself. Got himself a proper legend trailin' after him!

That creepy mook Alfred done yanked me out of a warm bed and sicked his cats on me ta test my grit. I showed him what some real grit was. Bonz was right, bunch o' lilly-sniffin' lightweights runnin Sencliff these days.

A shame I didn't get ta sail with him more. He got simself some real loyal fellers, Alfre..Alice...Alonso? *frustrated scribble* And that Bing feller, real sharp. We got to keep doin' ol' Bonz's wishes

Gettin' my crew together. That dwarf, Lokar, he's helpin, real sharp feller. Keeps real good notes. I ain't got time to be writin' notes, I'm the feckin' Captain! Time to show ol' Bonz how ya really swab a goddang pooprail!

Day 26, Month 3 (Ches), 143 AR Jim Marllson

Crippling Cordor by Jim Marllson

Them Cordorian sods is feelin' the wrath of Cap'n Jimbo and crew. In only a tenday we done pillages the Flagship and one of them schooners, kilt every bleedin' soal aboard, and got them sweet, sweet booties.

That grains tradin' cover is workin' like a charm. Got boarded by a whole screw o' saucy lasses and knife-ear bitches. They ate the story up like it was gruel.

Ships finally gettin' proper crewed up. Got me some loyal-arse mates and they's workin shifts. Thing is, I gotta keep my soddin' eyes peeled. Them docks is chock full o' sods wantin' Jimbo's boat!

Only one gods-dang Captain's hat and I'll be a bleedin' bloated corpse 'fore one of them mooks gets their grimy paws on my helm! The guttin' is comin', just a matter o' time! Cap'n Jimbo out!

Day 13, Month 6 (Kythorn), 143 AR Jim Marllson

Halfbloods and Harpies by Jim Marllson

Met up with them Horde fellers today. They took ta them waters like a soddin' stone duck, but they'll learn. Fellers got a real bleedin' keen taste fer bloodshed, and them soddin' lemons.

We's gettin' in deep, us Sencliff boys. The Cordorians is askin fer our ship ta help blockade the Goldy-run bastards. I ain't no soddin' privateer, I'm a bleedin' grains seller. The hell do I know about them king's wars?

One things fer certain, mooks is gonna start thinkin' twice about boardin' the ol' Leopard. I's grittier than ever and gettin' real good at gut hookin' fellers, and them soddin' loyal fellers I keep aboard is doin' a real good job.

But I ain't bleedin' goin' soft! Any o' them mooks cross me and its the plank, and a gut hookin', then another plank! Gonna be a bleedin' gut-hookin-plank fest if'n I start smellin' mutinity! Capn' Jimbo out!

Day 28, Month 9 (Eleint), 143 AR Jim Marllson

Frosty-cods and Forts by Jim Marllson

A lot been goin' on in the past month. We done made our way aboard the Flagship, only ta be turned away by some guard lass named Birdbag and her dog, goes by the name o' Mach. They wasn't keen on them grains, but we caught up with Mach down the road...

After guttin' Mach real clean-like and puttin' his girly friend in chains we made us some real prudent business deals down in the Dark Woods. Folks was buyin' grains left and right. Shame them posses caught up with us.

Gristle's gazillionth birthday went over real smooth. We strengthened them bonds with them halfblood lads and made us some real life-time soddin' friendships with some fierce mooks from down in them Underdims.

Hear-tell them Cordorian officials was proper perturbed by our rowdy get-together. No doubt there's liable ta be some real fierce reta... retail... some real fierce backsplash. Sencliff's stronger'n ever! We'll gut them mooks! Cap'n Jimbo out!

Five years by Duncan Hills

Over the last five years, Gristle Glittertush and myself have kept the Leapord opperational for the Pirate's Union of Sencliff. We have held the island for the last fiveish years since Jim's disapperance. In that time we've ensured the islands honor was kept, I hope one day history can look back at us fondly for the service we've done the isle in building a foundation.

The Gnomish Death-Joke (CAUTION!) by Anonymous

The Gnomish Death-Joke was written in 1301 by Gnomish comedian Roopert Pumperkin (RIP), who laughed himself to death immediately upon writing. It was discovered by his writing partner, Shecky Greenthumb, who himself perished from hilarity. This continued until all gnomes of their little Lantan hamlet were dead.

It happened to be found by a malicious human trader who read it aloud in various gnomish settlements to wipe out the natives and steal their stuff. Only the deaf and dumb gnomish hero Cubert Earsofstone was able to stop him, though he himself perished when he accidentally glimpsed the written joke.

WARNING: Any gnomes this joke is read to will in all likelihood expire from laughter. Make sure no gnomish bystanders are within earshot. If it must be read, we urge you to PLEASE be any race besides a gnome!

BEGIN JOKE

Q: How is a lean monarch like a man in repose?

A: Because he is thin-king. (thinking.)

END JOKE

If you are still reading, you are clearly not a gnome. Please, destroy this document at once for the protection of all gnome kind. This is too deadly a weapon to be allowed to exist!

The End of the Ceasefire by Storm Kell Abu'adir The End of the Ceasefire

The lands of the Accord Defense Treaty were in ceasefire with Sencliff at sea. The treaty was always about sea travel, slavery and passage. You've been given passage both at sea and through our towns. You were not granted the trust of the individual people because I suppose you just didnt work for it and earned it. Yes, hard work and proving one self, a concept pirates might not understand.

Some of you have been given writs of passage. Some of you have been allowed to linger. Some of you looked like you were actually working to build this trust but that does not mean you were granted it yet. It takes time. Time you did not wait for.

Unlike what some of you have been led to think, it was a pirate vessel grappling and boarding another vessel with Accord citizens on board and it was a fight the pirates initiated needlessly. The Accords shall stand strong and united in front of any threat. Including a pack of lawless brutes who call themselves 'Free Island'.

On this dayand in this moment, in joining with one of our clients of our stream of Palladium, the Grey Waves, we have seen to the demise of the terrible Dreadnought and the shipyard it claims as its home.

I endorse the Grey Waves as the future of Arelith's naval protection. As shown in the Skaljard's Cup tragedy, Amn's fleet can no longer be reliedd upon, and Cordor's navy is but a shade of its former self. And while Brogendenstein's fleet has rightfully clinched supremacy over other Arelithian settlements, they cannot keep the waters safe.

Glory to the Grey Waves, Glory to the Iron Throne, and Glory to the people of Skaljard who made this moment possible. May this victory sting the people wicked Andunor for time to come.

My time as her Captain was short, but I am learning much from the experience. Trying to walk in the footsteps of the legendary pirate-hunter Davis White made me realise that bringing a crew - a good crew - together reliably and with consistency is a rare thing indeed.

I have seen many a good sailor out here, but competition is tough, and it seems not many here can be relied upon.

This ship is the fastest ship in the isles, and she is deadly with the right people on board. See she is used for the benefit of those who deserve protecting, for the good of all in these waters.

A New Chapter by Imryll Valaathlar A New Chapter

As of the 24th of Alturiak, 181 AR, I came into possession of the Sea Leopard - currently named 'Icebreaker' from the previous Captain. Who this person was - a 'Cale Frostwalker' from the paperwork - or why he left the isles so mysteriously and suddenly remain unknown to me. A mystery that has yet to be resolved.

The ship had been anchored at Gnitaheithr, the deck in an awful condition. After introducing myself to the crew, I was assisted by Lady Mocla of the Shyr Farmlands to bring her back to port for some needed maintenance.

It is disappointing not to find any records on his or his crew's (mis?)adventures, and yet like so many things on these isles, an example of the fleeting and transitory nature of so many things here.

My name is Imryll Valaathlar. I am the new Captain of this ship, commonly known as the Sea Leopard. My goal is to build a crew of trustworthy individuals - to the benefit of my allies. May our profits be great and our troubles be few.

Ship Log: Month 5, Mirtul, 181 AR

It has been several months since owning the Sea Leopard and I have made a decent start on building a crew, however there have been ups and downs along the way, admittedly.

One of the first issues I've encountered was that of a human male called Nicator. On the first voyage I took him on with Aazirm, who was later to become my first officer, he had to leave and opened a portal to do so - or so I thought.

Aazirm noted he left quickly, and as I was focused on sailing it missed my attention that he had opened a pocket plane anchored to the ship, instead of teleporting away as he claimed.

After anchoring and leaving the ship, I came back hours later to find him below decks, rummaging through my things. I was less than happy about this, but - in my willingness to give him another chance, allowed him to sail with us again on the condition any portals he takes are opened by me.

The only exception to this was in case of an emergency, which is a given. In any case, he did not abide by this directive and showed his colours to me later, when, having confronted him on the subject, refused to apologise for his behaviour and only apologised for 'how I felt'.

He thus becomes the first person to be unwelcome aboard the ship.

I appointed Aazirm, who had won the Thane's First Anniversary Proving, as my first officer, and while he was - at times - zealous in his reporting - perhaps too zealous when other crew members are trying to speak - he did well. However, a mishap of him taking the ship out on his own to end up in a storm and sinking it resulted in his disappearance and dereliction of his duties.

To say this is disappointing is an understatement, he was a fine sailor, and while he still holds the pin marking him as my first officer, when he appears again I will be demoting him and expecting him to relinquish the title.

So far, I've not decided on who will replace him. I have some thoughts in mind from the crew members, but for now I will leave it open and try to manage without one.

While in this downtime caused by the repairs at drydock I came across some potential crew members, some I hope to hear from in the future.

Fleur of the Flowers, I believe a half elven woman, and one I made gloves for to help in sailing, but - who since has not approached us or made herself known. Bodhi Bendirbrook, a keen hin who has skills with shadow and who I've sailed with a little already. Salam - Say'la - one of a pair of twins, she seems enthusastic and happy to be part of the crew, and the rest of the crew seems to like her. It's nice to have fellow kin aboard, too, if I'm honest. Malachi, a human male who has associations with fey. I worry about the impact this may have on the other crew members, especially Say'la, and I could see that this is going to be a problem in the future. However, I hope his actions when they meet will be enough to prove his worth. Tack Thunder - one of the first crewmembers, a keen fisherman and one who is able to speak in Old Alzhedo, and though he is young her seems to be a decent warrior as well. Agathon - formerly a Dread Pirate, and now named my Quartermaster since his kin, Aazirm, disappeared, he is also a skilled sailor and warrior. However, his presence amongst the crew means that every time we encounter a Sencliff ship, we'll be fired upon. It also causes issues with any sort of alliance with Cordor. Still, I'm currently remaining a pariah there, so it doesn't really make much difference to me. Aazirm - formerly my first mate, I've written on him so I won't write anymore. Toby - a former employee of the Red Wizard Uskura, he was kept below and came out of hibernation until recently. While I dislike the idea of him having stowed away this long, it can't be changed at this point. He's a skilled negotiator and makes some decent music. He claims to know languages I do not, so this is a useful thing to have - if true. Torsten formerly of Ariksen - he is my shadow and has sworn oaths to keep me safe from harm. While he seeks a good death in battle, I hope that this is a very distant thing indeed.

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone or - something. But I hope not. In any case, I suppose I can always rewrite this log if I do recall it.

Day 12, Month 5 (Mirtul), 181 AR Imryll Valaathlar

Ship Log: Month 11, Uktar, 181 AR

Approaching the new year I wonder what the next year will bring. It's only now month 11 of 181 AR - there's time before 182 AR, and yet, my mind is set on the future and what lies ahead for the ship and crew.

Looking back at the log of only a few months ago, much has changed.

Agathon turned out to be an agent of Raja, and he and Salam (Say'la) recently married, they now live together in Guldorand.

Salam ended up corrupting an altar made for the ship with shadow, so it had to be destroyed - if this was not already bad enough- she allied herself with an orc-blooded pirate and slaver. She has been recently made unwelcome from Myon, understandably so. I have the feeling I've not seen the last of her, though hopefully she and her elusive twin stay away from my affairs.

Both Agathon and Salam are no longer part of the crew, and my initial defense of Agathon, believing him to be genuinely remorseful for his dastardly deeds led me into getting in some hot water with Cordor.

The Leviathan, Cordor's warship under the Captaincy of Ravnhart did not come to our aid when we were chasing the Destroyer, the Sencliff Ship also known as the Devil's Contract. I think if it'd not been for having the Razkanth aboard they might have even fired at us.

Khardar, seeing how things turned out, offered me protection as part of the Razkanth with a promotion to Commander - my ship is technically under the orders of the Dominion, but fortunately they've not seen fit to give us orders so far. The protection against those hostile to me though is invaluable on the sea while I build up a capable crew.

The other names mentioned previously, Toby, the stowaway, Torsten - Malachi- I have not seen in many months - and despite attempts to find them, I have been unable to. I only hope this doesn't mean they are lost for good.

I have discovered some others, though - Rupert - a fellow from Skal who is a Bladesinger of sorts - and Rollo - a hin of unknown origin for the moment - both individuals who seem well suited to our objectives here. Time can only tell whether it is the case.

Day 8, Month 11 (Uktar), 181 AR Imryll Valaathlar

The Dread Feet was here by Glubbdubdrib

The Dread Fleet was here

On this day, the Dread Fleet under Lord Admiral Glubb chased down 'an crippled the Sea Leopard. The Leopard crew ran away, not staying back to defend its ship.

Day 22, Month 11 (Uktar), 181 AR Glubbdubdrib

Ship Log: Day 22, Month 11, 181 AR - Dreadnought Attack The day was eventful and proved to be a loss in more ways than one.

Despite an initial start that seemed to bode well, we had too many guests who were no sailors. Having encountered the Ark and successfully evaded them, we then managed to take down multiple pirate and slave ships which resulted in nearly sixty crates of cargo in the hold.

It was then when we encountered the Dreadnought near Rayne's Landing with near 15 aboard, sailing far better than us. We were flying the purple and attempted an escape, removing our weapons from the deck which lent us some speed but not enough. I should have jettisoned our cargo but I did this far too late and their next shots when they got into range crippled us.

I saw that everyone lensed away before the monsters could board us, I would not see them enslaved or killed under my watch, and eventually, making sure that all had departed successfully, I also stepped through my portal when those creatures stepped aboard my ship. It is a sick feeling to know that the ship was left with those creatures on deck, but rather alive and ill than under clamp or torture, I'm sure.

This was not the only news of the day.

After meeting with Rupert, Rollo, Shandy and Osma in Brogendenstein we were invited aboard the Second Sister. She is a fine ship, though in my opinion not as fine as the Leopard, certainly, lacking a diving bell or a brig. She does keep chickens however, something I can appreciate for long voyages.

We sailed to the Edgewaters, being joined by a few other fine sailors to see us work very well out there. However, whilst firing the light on the prow, I noticed movement on the deck - Rupert's damned monkey, Bananas, pushed him - in his full plate - into the ocean. What could have prompted such a move, I'm unsure, the vicious nature of primates, I suppose - and he sank like a stone under the waves during the battle.

None of us caught sight of him, and despite our efforts he was lost at sea.

I hope we find him to have been washed ashore or rescued by another ship, but I know all too well how slim the chances of this are, and so - there is another sick feeling at the loss of one of my sailors.

Day 24, Month 11 (Uktar), 181 AR Imryll Valaathlar

Ship Log: Day 11, Month 12, Nightal, 181 AR Last trine marked one of our most successful voyages thus far, we were joined by several skilled hands and warriors to bring strife to those of Sencliff and below. Yet the success of our voyage was short lived, as ill news arrived to us, dark tidings that I fear the Dominion will be reeling from for many moons ahead, and perhaps even - years.

Warden Khardar Goldenbeard, former Captain of the Ironhelm and leader of the Thane's Kuldarn, was captured by those of the Underdark, shortly after leaving the deck of this ship to attend to his duties in the Halls. Unbeknownst to us, he was taken to the Sharps and sacrificed to whatever monsterous creature they pray to. More information I do not have at this time, but I cannot imagine it is news I wish to pen here. I am certain the Warden saw his end with the fierce spirit and bravery we all knew him for when facing the monsters of the Dark.

His body was recovered - or perhaps released as a message? - and returned to the Halls, where his brother, Thane Gedat Goldenbeard, led a great many, my crew members and others of the halls, in prayer for the Warden's safe passage into the beyond.

What this news means for the Dominion, and for this ship and crew ... remains uncertain.

There will be vengeance, I will swear it on the gods of the Samman and the Black Archer himself. There will be no forgiveness offered for this vile act.

Day 11, Month 12 (Nightal), 181 AR Imryll Valaathlar

The Betrayal of Brogendenstein

I would have hoped after finding reverie I could look back on the actions of the last trine as explainable, perhaps even forgivable - and yet I still find such fury when I think on the events and I wonder how, exactly, I am to proceed with such outright betrayal.

It began during a voyage with several others. Adrian Graves, Thoradin Goldenbeard and the latest hero of the halls - Rollo Hillcrest were aboard, among others, but their names are irrelevant for this report.

We were patrolling the southern quadrants of the Trackless Sea, and while we encountered the Squid, we were not able to catch it to see it sunk. For those that don't know, the Squid is the sister ship to the Surveyor, and is often said to be sailed by pirates or have some kind of 'agreement' with the Cliffs. Raja herself is known to be aboard frequently.

We continued our patrol, sinking several pirates, when during one boarding action I felt the pull of a summoning spell - and knew enough about the source to realise it was from Raja herself.

On the advice of Rollo, and common sense - I did not accept the conjuration, but instead declared my intention to see the spell reversed, bringing the infamous criminal and pirate to justice should she accept the summoning. Only a few days prior she was in the company of Argon, the slayer of our former Warden, and despite knowing this, worked together with him.

Therefore, I went to the brig of the Sea Leopard, where Raja unwittingly sealed her own demise by accepting the summon. She was locked inside the cell while we made our way back to port.

Course was set for Brogendenstein, and the woman was in our custody. She remained unharmed.

I will note here, when the circumstances were reversed and I was kept in the brig of the Dreadnought under her command, she had one of her rabid Abyssal dogs not treat me as well while another monster of hers, a minotaur called Raktus - observed the happenings from outside the cell. This is important to keep in mind, that despite Raja's claims that she is guiltless and innocent of any collusion or collaboration with such vermin.

We arrived in Brogendenstein. Thoradin left the brig while we spoke to the woman. She claimed that she only wished to speak to me to be sure my crew are well supplied and equipped, claiming to want to have a good fight at sea.

Rollo and Adrian both claimed to me her treatment - captivity in my brig - was against the rules of Parlay. There was no agreement or discussion of Parlay before this moment, it must be noted.

I ordered her put in manacles. Both Graves and Rollo refused.

I want to highlight this.

Both the Captain of the Ironhelm and my Quartermaster, the newest hero of the Halls, refused an order to put a vicious criminal and tormenter of the previous Warden into captivity.

Mutiny.

I had a set of silver manacles given to me by a guest who was present. Unfortunately they were not sufficient to see her chained. I'd sent word back to Thoradin to expect her to be transported from the ship to the barrack cells, and he fortunately boarded again to assist with the manacling of the woman with his own runic set of cuffs.

To cut the next part short.

Raja was held in the barracks while the former Purser spoke with her. I'd hoped the Thane or Warden would be able to attend, but they were not.

Then, after this chat - whatever it was about seemed to allow her to to be led to the final resting place of Khardar Goldenbeard, where she spoke words in front of his grave I did not understand. Thoradin saw her manacles removed, and then was able to drink an attunement potion to escape.

This is not the Brogendenstein I know. We would have had our first major victory in this war by seeing her hung, as she should have been.

I question severely my allegiance to these halls in the wake of such severe and wanton betrayal. This is the behaviour I would expect from Cordor, not from those of the Samman.

Whether or not I remain on as Commander of the Razkanth under a Captain who cannot follow orders to detain a known criminal and tormenter of our previous Warden, I do not know at present.

At time of writing this, I have strong doubts.

Day 1, Month 1 (Hammer (Deepwinter)), 182 AR Imryll Valaathlar

Attack by the First Sister 05/04/182 AR

While conducting our usual operations and heading away from local waters, Adrian Graves and I heard a familiar voice come over the waves as we entered the Gambler's Bluff - that of the alleged nobleman Rudolph, first officer of the First Sister. No hello, but immediately demanding we furl and prepare to be boarded, followed by a warning shot.

Despite his lack of manners (maybe he isn't so 'noble' after all) - we greeted him and complied. During our time at furling, the First Sister fired two more shots, damaging our ship as we were coming to a halt.

I did attempt to seek my usual crew members, but they are either out of my ability to sense or resting, to prepare to defend against this hostile force.

The First Sister, we saw, had 9 aboard, and 2 heavy ballistas. Considering it was only Graves and I on my ship, we were undermanned. Meanwhile whilst furling, I had a message from a woman I've recognised in the presence of Shandy before, who witnessed the attack from the Scout and told us to get to safety.

The First Sister attempted to grapple us, missed, and then eventually managed it. Despite superior numbers, not so superior skills, it would seem.

Among those faces I recognised after boarding were:

- Ginny Rivorndir

- Nataliya Karenkina

- Rudolph Cholokashvili

- Lysandra Arvaros

- There were four others who's names I do not know, one amongst them a fellow seeming to guard Rudolph and three others covered up or hiding in some way, elven in figure.

The people acted very aggressively, weapons and summons out, and there was even some attempt from a shadowy figure to lurk behind me for a time.

There was accusations of piracy from Nataliya as justification for her boarding and attacking, accusations I've already clearly addressed in previous reports. Inspecting an unresponsive rental is not piracy, or remotely close to it.

There was the mention of the apparent murder of Rudolph by Asbjorn Ironboar, a situation that I had nothing to do with.

As I was answering these accusations of piracy against this hostile boarding force, The Lost Ark appeared on the horizon and Nataliya - who I eventually determined to be in charge - ordered her people to leave and they left.

I had my Formian attack the grappling chain, and we headed for repairs at the Crow's Nest as we were clearly damaged from the assault.

Later, I gathered witness reports from those who saw the attack from both the Scout and Graves' own report.

Day 6, Month 4 (Tarsakh), 182 AR Imryll Valaathlar

09/04/182 AR - Sinking of the Dread

The Dreadnought, Captained by Marco Azari, was sunk this day, with their crew of 15 monsters, while we were working together with the crew of the Tempest, Captained by Helkaros.

Aboard the ship was myself, Adrian Graves, Marrok Fuzzypaw, Asbjorn Ironboar, and Bellflower, a guest who kept us well repaired with her woodshaping.

It was a tense fight and initially we encountered them while knowing the Tempest was on the way after spotting them - Aiobhan and Armida sending messages, as well as Helkaros to warn us of them.

I used the storm I had and a mist - in the early part of the battle. I wonder if that was a mistake, as we actually didn't take too much damage- still, in the end, we saw the monsters sunk to the depths.

What was of more surprise to me was the aftermath. During our celebrations, the sea washed up a sorry figure onto my ship.

I immediately ordered him in manacles and told the crew not to let him escape. Someone attempted to summon him, but Asbjorn put a stop to that quickly enough.

It turns out that this was the Captain of the Dreadnought, Marco Azari. We held him in my brig for several hours while we interrogated him on the state of the Dreadnought and the recent threat of the Black Wyvern ship, that he since claims - is being left to rust.

I'm skeptical of this claim, truly, as I am of much of what he said.

Another report will follow on the interrogation results.

In the end, Marco Azari was meant to walk the plank, yet Asbjorn, being the over enthusiastic Samman that he is, saw him slain when Marco pulled out a trident - the magics of which, I think - would have seen him breathe under the waves.

So, in the end - for the best, and Asbjorn has his trophy. And we have one less Andunorian collaborator to think about.

We also have his logs, for what they are - up until this point. We'll see how useful they may prove to be in the coming days.

Day 10, Month 4 (Tarsakh), 182 AR Imryll Valaathlar

24/09/182 AR - Tides of Change

Times have been tumultuous, and ship operations are fraught. Crew come and go, some more willing to follow orders than others, small issues spiralling into large ones.

The Lost Ark (Wailing Maiden, of the Cliffs) has gone up for bid in the last trine or so, time will tell who wins this and what they will do with her. I suspect it might be Raja or Marco, maybe even Olivia, the only thing left to do is wait. Maybe then they'll have a taste of how much effort and difficulty running a ship really is, instead of just being some ragtag band of bandits looking for a payday.

This may explain why we've not seen much Sencliff presence at sea, along with the increased patrols by the Tempest of Guldorand under the one called Helkaros. I don't see much of her Captain, which makes me question where she is, or if she's endured an uprising of her own to be overthrown by the half giant that thinks he's an overgrown Elf.

In more news, the Leviathan has been taken over by our former ally and shipmate turned traitor, Lysandra Arvanos. She was one of the many who partook in the attack and boarding of us when were were out at sea and undermanned, after claiming friendship. Still, months after the fact, she has not apologised, and I wonder what will happen when we run (if we run) into the Leviathan at sea. For all I know, it will remain as a pleasure ship in sight of their shore defenses.

Part of me wonders if this ship may yet be cursed. My first officer seems to insist on me apologising to a mutinous (former) crew member, which is - I admit, making me wonder if I need to find myself a new XO.

I think it might be time for a change, something - drastic. Something new. Or - old. I always did like the name 'Sea Leopard', after all.

What's a little more bad luck, when combined with everything else. How much worse could it get, really.

I will consider in the following days the final fate of the Silent Surveyor. My work is not done, not for a long way, and I will not give satisfaction to my many foes.

Day 24, Month 9 (Eleint), 182 AR Imryll Valaathlar

07/12/182 AR - The Sea Leopard Once Again

There is much of late to write on, and I almost feel as though there is never enough time to do so. Not enough time and attention for all of it. And yet when I do I appreciate the time to reflect. I should try to do this more often.

We are going by her original name, the Sea Leopard. I feel it's an apt name, one I would see bought so some triumph before my time with her is done.

Our sister ship, the Flying Squid, or - the Troubador - went up for sale. I hope I can work well with her new Captain, though I've never heard of them - Grog Weathers - I expect this may be one of the Sencliff inhabitants, I've yet to investigate.

Guldorand's Navy has a new Captain - 'Shandy'. I don't expect much in the way of collaboration from him, he will be too busy focusing on his own affairs, no doubt, and managing his crew. I've never really gotten on with him, so I am disappointed to hear he has taken command of the Tempest.

Ginny has stepped down as Chancellor of Cordor and several are in the running to take over. What this will mean to me and mine is little. It stands to reason that the Rivorndir will continue to rule the city as these things are little more than a batton pass to the next puppet.

I've dismissed Graves as my first officer and told him to focus on the Ironhelm. Too many issues that I will not go into detail of here add up to my realisation that he has too much on his plate, and not enough time to devote to it all. He's failed me lately in far too many ways. After the initial mutiny with Raja in the brig, I should have realised he was a bad choice. Still, I needed the help, and I still do, but for now I must look for a new suitable XO.

There are several promising new recruits. I hope at least a few of them work out.

Day 7, Month 12 (Nightal), 182 AR Imryll Valaathlar

26/08/183 AR, Celebrations and Races

Much has changed of late. Some have left our company, and some have joined. The seas are a vast and unforgiving place, and I found that my charts are badly in need of an update. So my task of mapping remains incomplete, and all the more so, I fear.

Still, news as of the last update - most significantly the Trouabour passed into Cordorian control. I offered our sister ship help with the upgrades before knowing this, and wouldn't you know it that since they got the resources I've not heard a single word from them again.

The Lost Ark/Ice Queen - we had a victory against her when she was owned by the temporary owner, a Brandon Pike, though he seemed to undercrew her, this said, we were ourselves undermanned, and managed to sink her. I was most pleased considering the history with that ship. Eventually, the Pike fellow realised how hated he was by his own ilk and put the ship up for bidding. Olivia van Graf won her, and now crews her with monsters, animators, and other pirates, naturally.

The last days have been kept busy with Natasha Dryby's Seventh Celebration of Salt, Sea and Storm. Meant to honour the divines of the sea, I thought it wise to at least make a showing.

There was a race scheduled from Guldorand, to the Blackfin Rock, and eventually to Rayne's. Of course, I could not see us losing, so I was keen to keep the Leopard's reputation as the fastest ship on the Trackless Seas.

Naturally, she did not disappoint, and despite some shenannigans by one of the pirates on Rayne's (trying to keep the beacon turned off) we won without any contest. I am incredibly satisfied with this, and I hope that maybe - maybe - we attract some sailors to our cause with this fact proven. It is not simply bravado, but proven fact.

I still find hiring a crew to be a challenge. Still, I intend to train up some of my people to run the ship for themselves. A few have already made a good start on it, and I'm pleased with being able to delegate some of the responsibilities when out on a lengthy voyage.

What the future may yet hold remains unclear. Mapping efforts need to be redoubled, and I would very, very much enjoy seeing the Wailing Maiden under Olivia's command sunk to the seabed, with her crew of animators and monsters both.

Day 26, Month 8 (Elasias (Highsun)), 183 AR Imryll Valaathlar

23/07/184 New alliances?

I am giving some serious consideration to hiring mercenaries to crew the Leopard. Crewing her with loyal people is next to impossible, and out of the dozens of people who have stood on deck and claimed loyalty, only a small percentage of them truly meant it and stick around for a decent time.

These loyal few - the ones who stay, show up, and communicate reliably are seen well supplied and equipped, yet I know always my time with them is still fleeting and I will even see the most reliable ones eventually move on. Or - perhaps I'll even move on myself? I do think about this, sometimes, and wonder what will become of the Leopard.

I am pleased that one of the crew, Caladros Elensar, won a brawling tournament in Guldorand recently, beating the previous year's champion. I hope to see him win future contests, perhaps one I'll even sponsor myself with the aim of finding more fighters who may be interested in joining the crew.

The mercenary group I am thinking of working with are named the 'Iron Wolves.' Time will tell whether the collaboration with them will prove remotely successful, though I am hopeful they will assist in my efforts to complete thorough charts of the Trackless Sea.

This potential collaboration with Halvard Arnbjornson of the Iron Wolves has led to a review of my status in Cordor as a pariah. I write this log shortly after a meeting with a Magistrate Alshore Mirro.

It has been four years since this pariah was declared. And finally now it seems someone has actually begun to see about removing it.

An interesting comment was made about the Cordorian navy being fools to pass up my skills from the Magistrate in the conclusion of our conversation.

I struggle to picture working with Cordor, truly, especially after the behaviour I've experienced from their people in the past - though I'm curious to see what may happen in the future and whether some collaboration is even possible or, more importantly, remotely tolerable.

Day 23, Month 7 (Flamerule (Summertide)), 184 AR Imryll Valaathlar

Ship Log 25/09/184

  • The following log is of a different hand, the strokes slow and uncertain. In many places the ink bleeds through the page.*

Captain Imryll graciously took me on as crew despite my lack of any basic qualification or familiarity at boating, though I've studied the fine craft of seamanship day and night since being recruited. The elite crew of the Sea Leopard make fine teachers, and carried themselves well through recent trials...

  • There's a significant blob of ink accrued here... the writing resumes half a page beneath the mess.*

At which point, the crew sailed close to the vile rock of Sencliff, on a mission to dig up treasure beneath the pirates' own noses. We landed in the dead of night, crawling out of our skiff onto the sands.. The crew expected an ambush but Navigator Zennic found the spot to dig in no time at all!

Captain Imryll, tough as they say, dug up a huge treasure chest from the spot. We tossed the chest on our skiff and made our escape, didn't leave so much as a trace! (Besides the hole we dug)

The crew celebrated our success and scattered to tend to our personal businesses... after splitting the loot! *There's a small sketch of a gnome wearing a shining necklace. The figure seems very pleased!*

  • The next page contains some notes as well*

While hanging about at the docks... I came across a sailor. I don't remember his name if he gave one, but it was his news that was worth noting!

This man said he had just spoken with an imp (devil) and a drow woman, and that the two conspired to attack Guldorand. He said their reasons were of revenge, but with such creatures who can say what is transpiring!

More to come as I hear it...

Day 25, Month 9 (Eleint), 184 AR Zennic Barq

Ship Log 09/10/184

The last tenday was a quiet one. Even the waves seem to be tired and sluggish as they bob us around. Captain's been focused on something important I think, leaving us all with more personal time than usual. Don't mind it too much though, heh.

Spending these long nights at sea (or at port...) has let me think a lot! The wooden walls of my cabin have gotten more and more familiar, really starting to feel like home. The burrows I used to climb in and out seem so far away! The ship is a lot different... and there's a lot more to do.

But enough gnomish ramble, all things are fine. *There's an inked in thumbs-up at the bottom of the page*

Day 9, Month 10 (Marpenoth (Leafall)), 184 AR Zennic Barq

09/11/184 AR Valuable Lessons

Since my last entry, much has happened. I've been fortunate enough to find worthy people for the Leopard.

A couple of siblings from Zakhara and their people, Zennic, a magical and lucky Gnome, and of the last few days, I've begun a promising association with a woman titling herself Yokai, who seems to be doing much in Sibayad and who leads a company of her own called the Black Dragons.

I've already had a couple of her people on board, and while they are no skilled sailors (yet), it is a pleasing thing to see new faces eager to add to the Leopard's already storied history.

I have had a few sailors from other crews on board who seem to wish to keep their sailing with us discrete. This leads to questions, of course, of my own - still, their choice is theirs to be made. One such sailor unfortunately lost us a completed treasure map, bringing with it a valuable lesson in teaching so called 'professionals' lessons that I assumed all knew.

- When anchoring at a treasure island, remain anchored until a chest is retrieved. -

I suppose I can't expect other crew of settlement ships to have as much common sense or practical experience as we do.

Cordor remains - well, Cordor. We spied the Wailing Maiden lurking near Azoun, fully manned, and we headed south to evade their superior guns. As luck would have it, we saw the Leviathan anchored at the Whaler's Home. When we asked if they would be willing to assist in the removal of the pirate filth, they refused as they were 'only running off the barnacles'. Such is the cream of the Cordorian navy, I suppose.

The mercenary company I last wrote of - The Iron Wolves - disbanded their company and threw in their lot with the Cordorian navy, which while it is a shame to have never sailed with them, if their loyalty is to Cordor then I am glad of our lack of collaboration. Their tournament they arranged in Cordor as well was a chaotic mess, so perhaps it is for the best after all.

My personal status in Cordor still remains a pariah, despite now completing this 'probationary' period they assigned to me to prove my character, which was tested when the Nomad's landlady attacked my summoned bodyguards. Still, I am glad to not need to concern myself with their politics and I remain in hope that perhaps one day their government will put competent leaders in charge of their flagship capable of riding the seas of the likes of Olivia, Raja and Lilah.

Until then, it remains up to us.

Day 9, Month 11 (Uktar), 184 AR Imryll Valaathlar

23/12/184 AR A Gilded Cage

Every time I write one of these entries I wonder where to begin. Something that does not get easier with time.

Sibayad has recently expanded, and with it, they have their own ship - a brigantine called the Jewel of Aziz.

A member of my crew - one of the Zakharan siblings I mentioned in a previous entry - Khalida bin Lahib - ran for election as the Vizier, and on winning the post, she has gained access to the ship itself and now is her Captain.

This is a loss for us in the long term, certainly, but Khalida is a fine helmswoman and leader, I am certain the ship is in good hands. I hope her brother Amin can find enough time still to aid the Leopard in our expeditions, he has a way with merchantile endeavours that is quite valuable to both the crew and I.

While the Jewel of Aziz seems like a swift, sleek ship, she lacks the space the Leopard has and has no diving bell equipped, yet - but then I wonder if a trade ship has much business with needing a diving bell or any of the extra amenities that the Leopard enjoys.

I admit surprise in not seeing that their ship is not a galleon or flagship for their import and export business, considering they are a trading isle. Still, a brigantine is swift and easily crewed, and so perhaps her size is for the best.

With the changes in Sibayad, I suspect my time there is coming to an end. Going from a fine store location with no taxes, to having to pay at least a seven percent tax rate and be villified for being an Elf makes me wary of even visiting the marketplace when monsters such as Gnolls, Minotaurs and Drow openly walk the sandy streets.

I've not faced attack there yet, but there was an incident in the Crow's Nest recently that has rendered me much more cautious in stepping off the deck of the Leopard. I expect that those behind this activity will be hunted down and made to atone, if the allies I've found are to be trusted.

The Leopard is a fine, fast ship. And she makes a fine prison when I don't have the hands to be taking her out on the seas, feeling even more cozy than I have come to appreciate.

A gilded cage is still - a cage.

Day 23, Month 12 (Nightal), 184 AR Imryll Valaathlar

Ship Log: 24/11/185 Sunset Approaches

I have the feeling that the best days of my time with the Sea Leopard are behind me by this point. The same story rings true, people move on, or disappear, and I'm left handling her with a skeleton crew. Even people who claimed to be friend and long time ally would abandon without a farewell.

Various anonymous fools out there refer to us as pirates, (and me, ironically as an elf hater?) though I can count on one hand the amount of times we've shot at unarmed or merchant ships, and they've all been justified.

I'm unsure if I have the energy to continue recruiting at this point. I do wish to finish the charts, sectors in the Ashen Shores and to the west of this need completing in full.

When this is done, I may point her into the sunset and sail towards it.

Day 24, Month 11 (Uktar), 185 AR Imryll Valaathlar
