Chancellor's Address: War between Amn and Waterdeep

People of Cordor,

With great sadness I address you today regarding the declaration of war between the nations of Amn and Waterdeep. With Amnian and Waterdhavian forces present on the island, we are heading into an uncertain future. This uncertainty is exacerbated by the very direct link Amn has with Cordor, and Waterdeep has with Guldorand. We are hosts to their respective fleets and thus it would be easy to imagine we will become part of the conflict.

For the moment however I can offer some words of solace in this regard. His Majesty King Edward Cordor seeks to maintain neutrality. Cordor will host the Amnian fleet but will not actively partake in the conflict. We believe the situation in Guldorand is similar. With this in mind, I will do everything I can to keep our people from suffering the consequences of foreign wars. You each are free to enlist with the warring powers, but the Cordor Government will take no official part in the war, safe our pre-existing agreements with Amn to host their fleets.

Anyone with questions or concerns is welcome to approach me so that I may do my best to alleviate or clarify such.

Together we will make it through this trying time, and we will be stronger and better for it.
