I wish to extend my personal thanks to all those that cast a vote for me in my second casting of the Stones. Your confidence in my ability to lead us all into propsperity and kinship has warmed my heart. Know that with this come my pledge to begin my Trials of Thanedom.

Thane's Judgement

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the Thane's Judgement on our former Regent, Snorri Wordsmith.

On Day 14 of Month 5. 180 AR, Snorri Wordsmith returned to the Halls after years of absence. He was stopped by the council, as he was suspected for many crimes, he refused to return our relics or our coin and attempted to leave. He was summarily detained by the Kuldarn, by authority of the council, until such a time as he either returned our relics or the Thane arrived to pass judgment.

The Thane was soon located and had a long discussion with Wordsmith before passing judgment. Snorri Wordsmith has been found guilty of the following:

He has defied the Pillar of Collusion by working with the Duergar Khorrin Cinderstone. This is a crime Wordsmith admitted to though claimed it was his right as Regent to do business with the underdark.

He has defied the Pillar of Theft, while he has returned some of the gold Thane Oak entrusted to him, he is refusing to return the Crown of Umbricks to its rightful place in the Halls.

He has defied the Pillar of Solidarity by abandoning his post without appointing kin in his stead, or giving his council the power to lead in his absence.

For these crimes Thane Gedat Goldenbeard has decreed he will be unwelcome in the Dominion until such a time as he attones for his mistakes. All Kuldarn, Razkanth, Icefangs and Deepwatch should regard him as such.

The Coronation of Gedat Goldenbeard

Following a time of great leadership and the completion of the Trials, the council has voted in favor of the coronation of Gedat Goldenbeard as Thane of Brogendenstein.

All friends of the Halls are invited to gather with us to witness the ceremony as Gedat takes the highest Oaths of office, a feast will be held in his honor afterwards.

Please join us in the Hall of Legends on the 17th of Ches to witness this event.

Their reports equip the Brogendenstein's leaders with vital insights, enabling them to fortify defenses, share information with other settlements and devise strategic countermeasures.

The Deepwatch, bound by an unbreakable code of loyalty, never falter in their mission. Their dedication to the safety and prosperity of the surface remains resolute. They are the unknown and unsung heroes, ensuring that Brogendenstein's position is unchallenged and unyielding.

The second election

The time has passed where the stones can be called upon once again. In the new called election there is the option to re-elect the regent, to confirm the choice that was made by the citizens of Brogendenstein in the previous election.

With this election is the chance to agree with the path that Regent Gedat of clan Goldenbeard has lead us, or disagree with it and see a new regent elected.

The confirmation of regent is important in the process of selecting a new thane, and is nae called because the current regent wants to step down. If the current regent is re-elected, he will continue his path to thanedom through the trials of thanedom, before the actual coronation will be considered.

The Casting of my Second Stone

I come before you to announce that I, Gedat Goldenbeard, Regent of these Golden Halls, will be once again casting my stone for the people. I believe that for too long these Halls have gone without a Thane and by the traditions set before me by the Elders, a second stone must be cast in order for me to be set upon the Trials of Thanedom. So I ask of you, the people of Brogendenstein, to back my claim of Regency so that we may continue the great works of these Golden Halls together.

Trials to Thanedom

aving passed his second election and declared his intent to earn a High Blessing from the Mordinvalk, Regent Gedat Goldenbeard has been given the following trials:

The Trial of Dumathoin, given by Talhund Gedat Goldenbeard: To collect one of every gem and ore found on this island.

The Trial of Thard Harr, given by Vuddar Grogus Silverback: To find and slay a great beast using only weapons and armor made from materials found in the wilds. And then return alive to tell the tale and share in its meat.

Trial of Hanseath, given by Pohazak Daak Thunderbarrel: An island-wide bar crawl and brawl across every tavern on the surface.

Trial of Moradin, given by Sonnilor Aganast Hornhewer: To craft a tool , or a weapon deemed worthy of the All-Father by the Sonnlinor.

Trial of Marthammor Duin, given by Volamtar Khardar Goldenbeard: Carry the flame of Duin from the temple to Umbrick's Doors and then carry the flame of Duin from the temple to Ravine Ice Place Doors.

Regent Gedat Goldenbeard has begun these trials, but is still accepting additional challenges from the Mordinvalk.

The Death of Hathek Orc-Flayer

This report is made second hand on behalf of Razkuld Hathek Orc-Flayer.

On Day 16 of Month 8, Year 179. Hathek Orc-Flayer entered the Halls battered and bleeding. He informed those gathered, namely Razkulds Drogon and Tolin, that he had been attacked in Bendir by the Cordorian Urshak. The Cordorian took offense to Hathek's hatred of Orcbloods and an argument ensued. Out of respect for our earthkin allies, Hathek told Urshak he did not wish to fight and Urshak attacked him. Mortally wounded he made his way back to the Halls where he laid his trident on the floor and informed the hall that he wished to die on his own terms, up the mountain and alone. Drogon accepted his trident and his wishes and allowed him to leave the Hall.

Drow Sighting in the Dark Spires

On Day 16 of Month 8 of year 179, Drogon Silverbeard headed up the Spires to raid the Aurilite temple and put down the dragon inside. On his way past the Icehold he encountered a female drow with a slave bathing in one of the pools. He informed them they were not welcome in the Dominion and the slave asked to leave. Drogon declared that the slave could but the drow could not. The drow's defense was to claim that she was a moon maiden. Rather than flee, the slave turned into a pile of snakes and joined the fight. Outnumbered Drogon was forced to retreat to the Halls where he gathered the forces of the Icelord Manus, as well as the gnomes Eriss and Ark. The party proceeded up the mountain tracking Drow footprints till they reached the Aurilite cave. Just before the White Wyrm, the body of a male drow was discovered dead.

Drogon believes that the identity of the female drow to be that of our recent exile due to her identification as a moon maiden, and the general disregard with which she treated our lands as her own. However the unrelated male drow in the Aurilite caves suggests that there is a concerning drow presence in the Dark spires and patrols should be increased.

Mine Mytil, Exiled

Let it be known that the drow, Mine Mytil, who often poses as an elf, has been exiled from Brogendedstein. I recommend that all settlements in these lands do the same as she tries to infiltrate your churches or government.

Trade Decrees of Ulstevuard Gedat Goldenbeard

In keeping with his sixth decree, Ulstevuard Gedat Goldenbeard has seen fit to restate the ban on all undead summoning tools, scrolls and aids.

All shops found to be in violation of this decree are subject to have their shop leases revoked and the location offered up to the lottery of the Dominion.

To aid in the enforcement of this decree, and to ensure the merchants of the Golden Halls march ever towards progress, the Ulstevuard appoints the merchant Gemli Steelforge to the possition of Purser of the Golden Halls and asigns to him all rights and responsibilities of the role. May he serve the Halls well.

First Decrees of Ulstevuard Gedat Goldenbeard

Gathered before a moot of Kith and Kin. Ulstevuard Gedat Goldenbeard has made the following six decrees:

1. Three months from now, (10th month of 179) with no return from Regent Snorri Wordsmith, He will claim full Regency and begin his Trials of Thanedom.

2. He seeks to fill the unfilled roles of the Halls. He has begun so with the naming of Asa Silvershield to head the Moradinvalk. He seeks kin to step up to the roles of Warden and Purser.

3. The Government has become overstuffed with redundant and unneeded divisions. They will be consolidated and changed to reflect our new priorities going forward. Ambassadors are combinded into the Order of Lore and History. Previous Ambassasdors are invited to apply to the Order.

4. The Elders of the Halls have served Brogendestein honorably, and as such will be considered full members of the Council.

5. The Dominion covers many territories, to aid in their management, samman are named nobility to caretake and ensure their upkeep.

6. The Halls reconfirms its stance against the practice of animation. Any who partake in such a dark art will never be welcome in the Dominion. In recognition of her crimes, Olivia Van Graff is exiled from the Dominion.

A personal thank you for your vote of confidence.

I wish to thank all that have come forth in supporting me to be the Ulstevuard of these Golden Halls. Know that I will serve these Halls with duty, honor, and tradition.

In the next few weeks, I will be asking council and elders to come forth so that we may solidify the open positions within our government and ensure that the proper pieces arfe put in place to complete the puzzle that is our Dominion.

To this end, I will be asking for a meeting of kin to discuss a few matters of import. I will hope to see the host of kin and elders in the Halls assembled to meet. We are stronger when we work as one, my kin, and I look forward to our discussions in the future.
