Vampire Dossier: Rathmar Vhett

Overview:

Malarite Vampire who at the time of writing seems to hold some sway in the Sharps. An outcast, savage and fairly uncouth but not unable to work with groups.

Appearance:

Male human vampire. He is very tall and slender, with a predatory disposition. Very sharp features with ragged black hair that reaches to his shoulders. His eyes are bright red, and his fangs are very prominent. He wears a variety of bone charms and trinkets upon his person, and has been noted also to wear a fur cloak. Upon his chest, burned black and scarred, is the brand of Malar whom he seems to worship. He has other significant scaring upon his body. His skin is pale.

History:

At the time of writing nothing is known about this creature’s time before Arelith.

He seems to spend most of his time in the underdark, though did visit Sibayad occasionally.

He has never tried to hide his vampiric nature, especially not in the underdark.

First major notation was when he tried to enthral a sea elf by the name of Nimue. Forced to drink his blood, Nimue ran to Bendir where she received treatment for enthralment. She hid there and Rathmar apparently, with some friends, tried to gain entrance to get her back but were unable. He left a threatening note which he signed.

Ultimately he gave up his hunt for her, for reasons that are as yet not entirely known.

A month or so later he took part in the attack and kidnapping of Guldorand Marshall Licit, dragging her to Saltspur to be ransomed. He headed the negotiations, asking for five million gold and a parrot chalice. His manner was described as arrogant, a little uncouth, and brusque. He settled for four million gold and Licit was released.

There was a rumour he had enthralled a constable of Guldorand named Corin. I believe this rumour is false however.

There’s been no major incident involving him that I know of since this. He however is considered quite dangerous, not least of all because of his ability to gather a group around him with such efficiency.

Other:

Rathmar’s abilities are not well known. He has shown ability to use wands (overheard using a spider skin wand) and it’s been noted that he has very good ears, but not necessary good eyes. He does not seem to have an innate ability to detect scrying. He’s shown no magical ability that I am aware of. He does not seem deeply entrenched with Lucretia, but has spent time with Morgan Deane and Vealira.
