Open Court in the Hall of Legends
The Regent of Brogendenstein will hold an open court every trine for the benefit of folk and friend of Brogendenstein in the Hall of Legends council chambers. All petitions and general matters may be brought before the Royal Household for the consideration of the Regent and the Stone Council.
Private audiences will not be entertained during these hours, but requests for audience may be submitted.
(( Most days starting at around 7:30PM EST. ))

Izahne Tiller / Victoria Helbrecht in Cordor
Involved parties:
+ Arvalie
+ Griffy
+ Morgan Hart
+ Taestra Rinn
+ Eli'gos Rivorndir & Entourage
+ Thomas Castemont
+ Izahne Tiller / Victoria Helbrecht
==SUMMARY OF EVENTS==
As I stood in the square talking to a few people, someone called our 'ZOMBIES' as two zombies ran through the streets of Cordor. They were dispatched by Morgan, myself and an unknown dwarven female.
I was then told the culprit had fled through the gate to the Outskirts. When I arrived a woman with wards of concealment stood on the road, talking to Arvalie, Griffy and a few others. I immediately recognised the woman, dressed in dark clothing and masked as she spoke. This was none other than Izahne Tiller, who leads an organisation called 'The Shadow that Was' and now goes by the name of Victoria Helbrecht.
We have evidence that she is a slaver due to her name being on a collar. The reports from Skal indicate she attacked the town with a horde of Undead. And we have accounts of her spending time in Andunor.
Both Corporal Arvalie and I requested she come with us for questioning in the cells. She asked to know for what charges. We pressed again and she decided to try and run, but was stopped between Arvalie's magics and Morgan's blade. She was knocked unconcious.
At time moment, I checked her for vitals. She still lived, barely, and felt cold. With Corporal Arvalie's consent, I lifted her to carry her to our cells, to be healed enough for questioning so that we may learn more about her organisations and her plans.
As we got closer to the cells I started feeling a jab of stabbing pain. Almost at the cells I was suddenly filled with a burst of Negative Energies and dropped Izahne to the ground from pain to which she immediately teleported out and escaped.

Earthkin Alliance Military Council Meeting #1
When: 22 Alturiak 178AR
Attending: Adaldrida Springcrest (Knights of the Mountain), Taggert Redbeard (Kuldarn), Zepxi (Grotto), Arkosic (Grotto), Kwon (Knights of the Silvermane), Priscilla Derlson (Purple Rose), Domila Nodlegodle (Hawk'in), Minto Cloudpaw (Organizer/Bendir)
Absent: Olivia (Icehold), Oak (Brogendenstein)
Summary: First meeting of the EAMC to discuss how such a council would work.
Details:
- The Earthkin Alliance Military Council would be formed to allow closer communication with our fellow military organizations in the Earthkin alliance, to allow improved defense, training, recruitment and organization, while allowing the individual groups to retain autonomy.
- We would work together more on planning expeditions and training to improve all our militaries
- The council will meet regularly to talk about issues in the various towns, share intel and organize outings.
- Members of the Council will be responsible for law enforcement /only/ in their domains (Hawk'in in Bendir, Kuldarn in Brogendenstein, Purple Rose at Darrowdeep, and so on; the Kuldarn/Hawk'in will count for the Grotto until they organize a new militia). Other member organizations would be allowed to arrest for crimes if they spot them, however this is not required. Arrested individuals should be turned over to the members of the domain. For example, if the Knights of the Mountain arrest someone for graverobbing outside Bendir, they should be turned over to the Hawk'in for punishment.
- Members of the Earthkin Alliance are expected to rally to the defense of our ally members, however; as the focus is more on the safety of our people, not law enforcement.
- We'll equalize all of the officer ranks, and if a domain is missing their high ranking officer then another can step into their place, for example if Taggert isn't around in Brogendenstein for an attack, then Priscilla could step into his place.
Currently the Grotto does not have an organized militia, so will be left off the below list of command.
Command rankings and rosters to follow.
The Earthkin Alliance Council board will be held in the Hawk'in barracks, and the individual members can distribute notes as they see fit.
We'd also like to add the Razhknath to the council as a separate group under Khardar. Minto and Taggert to meet with Khardar to discuss.
Minto to discuss with Olivia and Varfogar.
The leaders of Bendir, the Grotto and Brogendenstein will continue to be in command of diplomacy, although working with the Earthkin Alliance Military Council to ensure the safety of our people.
------------
Outside of main council matters we discussed:
- The issue with several Bendirians including Hawk'in mocking the Knights of the Mountain. Minto and Domila have promised to continue working to resolve this with Sarah and Exordius, especially punishing Hawk'in for this behaviour.

Proclamation on the Refugee Efforts
I, Snorri Wordsmith, Ulstevuard of Brogendenstein by the grace of Thane Oak Vintergard and Keeper of State during the interregnum, do hereby give right of passage to the Ilmatari Church, so worthily vouched for by Commander Xalden of the Radiant Heart, and the displaced peoples that they host.
In addition, Brogendenstein grants the right to forage in its Dominion in an immediate and direct route to the destinations equipped for their care as arranged by the Radiant Heart. Brogendenstein is prepared to permanently house and equip any Earthkin displaced by the conflict. This includes Sammankind, the Forgotten Folk, hins, and none other.
Given the wartime threat of Amnish aggressors upon the peace of the isle, the Free Folk of Sencliff riled by Nelanther reavers to empty promises of plunder, and other opportunists that might very well take advantage of any breach in normal activity, all watercraft in the Ilmatari armada must fly a maritime flag of their Church when entering port, and not that of any nation or alliance of nations.
Seeing that Amn and the Lords? Alliance are said to be providing for the maritime security of the displaced - a very frugal sign of decency in the face of the chaos wrought - the Razkanth Navy of Brogendenstein will not embark to the defense of the Ilmatari armada unless otherwise notified of the need.

Snorri Wordsmith's Candidacy for Regency
Many seasons ago, I was summoned to the isle by my father to strain every nerve supporting Thane Oak Vintergard, who was then at the beginning of his regency. He believed, as I believe now, that our mighty hold is unparalleled in the majesty of its tradition and the depth of its potential for greatness.
The Thane's departure strikes a doleful peal in the history of Brogendenstein. Though the Thane lives yet and may some day return to us, we may feel that we have lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, or a son.
In times such as these, it is mete that we recall our patriarchs wisdom: that Brogendenstein would always look to hone its great virtues, even as the All-Father toiled upon the Soulforge for untold ages to craft our esteemed people, one by one.
Indeed, our vigilant work is never done, even as we have paid Gorm's final toll, and have gone to the Soulforge to partake again of Moradin's eternal mastercraft, sammankind.
I have consulted with the Elders of the Hall and many whose esteem I treasure. It is the highest honor of my life to hereby proclaim my intention to ask the Dwarven people the honor to serve as Regent of our treasured halls and the Golden Realm we have all sworn ourselves to.
There is a long road ahead of us, but we are determined, with the help of the gods. Just as the tempering of Dwarven steel makes it sure as stone, that our crucibles and ordeals will whet our strength. Together, may we surfeit every height once thought too great for us.
Whatever the course of this contest may take, no dwarf can serve aright but for the full hearts of their fellows.
So, I ask this of you, kin and kith: allow this third son, no likely candidate for such esteem, the opportunity to earn the great honor of leading Brogendenstein, the greatest Dwarven hold of this and any place or age, in our eternal march.

RH War Refugee Support Team Meeting
Greetings friends and allies. I have received word from Revered Father Dorran Jalmer of the Ilmateri Church. He is our contact from the mainland for the support and safe transport of war refugees. He will be arriving at the Radiant Heart at the end of this week to meet with us in person at the time and date below. If you would like to meet with him in person to discuss any questions or concerns, you are welcome to joi us to do so. Thank you for your support of all our endeavors in bringing innocent people some sense of safety and stability in these troubled times. Peace be with you, Xalden Grantz

Abdication of Thane Oak I, Oak, hereby announce my intention to abdicate Brogendenstein's Throne.
Circumstances are such that I must tend to matters beyond the confines of this Isle. I know not when I might return. It would be irresponsible for me to leave Brogendenstein with such uncertainty in its leadership and I have therefore made the decision to step down and make way for another to lead Brogendenstein.
I believe I leave Brogendenstein in good hands. Before my need to leave came, I had already agreed on the following arrangements.
Grolick Grayfury steps down from Warden of the Thane's Kuldarn and takes up the honoured title of Elder of Brogendenstein. It is a disservice that a proper ceremony could not be held in recognition of his efforts, but unfortunately my schedule could not allow for such.
Into the title of Warden rises Taggert Redbeard. A principled and passionate samman of good heart who I know will do right by Brogendenstein and its people in whatever position he holds.
Our High Cleric Snorri Wordsmith takes on the additional duty of Ulstevaurd. In this capacity he will oversee Brogendenstein in my stead until such a time that a new Regent may be chosen. I have always valued the High Cleric's wisdom and know he will ensure a transition of power that will leave Brogendenstein stronger than I left it.
Those groups and individuals pledged to serve Brogendenstein are to work with the UIstevaurd in my absence, and when the election is concluded, the chosen Regent.
I expect an election to be set into motion within a month from the date of this notice. Instructions will be left regarding how to proceed, and I will ensure items left in my care make their way to the proper people and authorities.
It has been an honour to serve,
Oak of Clan Vintergard

Oak Vintergard
On the Election of a Regent Hail, Brogendenstein.
I, Snorri Wordsmith, Ulstevuard by the grace of His Majesty, Thane Oak Vinterguard, do, in union with the Stone Council of Brogendenstein, Recognize the abdication of the Thane with a solemn gratitude for his many years of service.
Thane Oak Vintergard will be committed to our chronicles as one of the most honorable and humble leaders to ever serve our gilded hold. His sublime wisdom, certain friendship, and unwavering spirit will leave an indelible mark on the heart of Brogendensteiners for generations to come.
In this interregnum period, Brogendenstein must now turn its mind to the future, to the question of who shall lead our march. After consultation with Elders Naly and Grolick, Past Thane Doili, and my honorable peers on the Council, the Calling of Stones shall commence in a few days time.
Starting immediately, any dwarf who is an upright citizen of the Dominion of Brogendenstein may now announce their intentions for candidacy for the regency on the main common board before the Memorial of the Fallen.
After the Calling of the Stones, candidates must speak to Steward Khadgar to submit themselves formally for candidacy.
After the first election, the rubrics of tradition calls for the duly elected Regent to serve as head of state for a trial period of one cycle. After such a time, the elders will call a second public election to confirm the folk's choice.
After the confirmation, the Regent will be faced with the legendary Trials of Thanedom, fielded by the temple, the elders, and the Stone Council. Only after the trials may a Thane be invested in the royal regalia and crowned with the jewels of our people.
During the interregnum, and according the last wishes of Thane Vintergard, I will serve as Head of State in the absence of the duly elected, guided by the sure help of my peers in the Council of the Dominion.
May the stone keep us all, and may the Morndinsamman vouchsafe that WE KEEP MARCHING.

Residency and Citizenship in Brogendenstein
There is the opinion of some in Brogendenstein that while visitors are welcome, it is only for Samman to make their home. For many others it is more nuanced than this but still leads to conflict between themselves and non-samman.
To those, I will remind that for the entirety of their time here, Brogendenstein has granted citizenship to non-samman, as they have to the dwarves. Citizenship IS the right to live here.
This has been the position of every Council. Every Ruler of Brogendenstein. This stance will not change.
On entering these Golden Halls, pillars of stone impress upon foreign visitors that the Samman of the Halls are to be respected. In return, those who do so and are in good standing with our laws are made welcome during their visit.
With this being the case, we must not forget that it befits us to be at least as welcoming to our own citizens as well. Regardless of blood. These individuals have made Brogendenstein their home and have indicated in doing so the deep respect their hold for it.
The matter becomes more nuanced as regards the Hall of Legends. Traditionally these Holds have been held by Samman, as those residing in them have indicated their intention toward the betterment of Brogendenstein and its peoples. For this reason, there is the mistaken belief that only Samman can or should reside in them.
However, every Thane has within their power to grant their use to individuals or groups. Such is done with due consideration and never lightly. Those who reside in them have proven themselves to Brogendenstein in their conduct and deeds. They are granted them in the knowledge that they will respect the ways of the Samman and continue to serve Brogendenstein.
If you take issue with any living in these Holds, whether Samman or not, your concern should be brought to the Thane or his Council, not those who are living there.
For the sake of clarity on these decisions, I will aim going forward to indicate on the board in the Hall of Legends reasoning behind every non-samman appointment.
Signed
Oak of Clan Vintergard Thane of Brogendenstein

High Alert: The Lich of the Crystal Caves
A powerful undead being, a lich known as Jarkaresh of the Rune, has stolen the holy crystal from the site of the Grey Circle in the Crystal Caves.
The being is immensely powerful, and all the settlements of Arelith have felt the quakes it conjures in the ground and have pooled their combined might to fight against the waves of undead it has unleashed.
It has claimed responsibility and has been cited at holy sites sacred to all faiths, from Brog to Cordor and beyond. It has laid a claim, in fact, to the crystal caves below Brog as its own domain, where it first seemed to manifest.
Targets have included sites sacred to Brog and Cordor, specifically defliling and pillages places of holy power.
Thus far the being has displayed incredible feats of arcane power, including summoning legions of powerful undead, controling others through fel arcane means, manifesting portals, utilizing teleportation magics, and it seems to be skilled in scrying. In addition, the being has demonstrated tactical cunning and is capable of strategy, though its minions have, thus far, mostly been mindless.
High Sonnilor Snorri Wordsmith has received visions relating to these events and will provide additional information on request.
All kin should prepare themselves for the coming fight and the power of this being, Jarkaresh. The creature has directly invaded the Halls, directly, and none may be safe from its wrath.
In addition, any information you have may have regarding this being should be brought to the Wordsmith brothers or any member of the clergy.
Vigilance.

HoL Writ: Fellowship of the Crystal Song
In the face of an evil that threatened the security and future of Brogendenstein, these individuals rose to the challenge without hesitation. Working closely with Brogendenstein and most noteably the High Sonnlinor, we were able to respond to this urgent threat and see off the threat of the lich Jarkaresh who we believe to be have been a member of the Twisted Rune. These individuals entered the lich?s lair with the High Sonnlinor and not only thwarted its plans but ensured by the destruction of its phylactery that it will never trouble Brogendenstein again.
As the fellowship has indicated a wish to continue to work with Brogendenstein's Temple and live here, they are granted permission to oversee one of the Holds here in the Hall of Legends under the High Sonnlinor's sponsorship.

Justice for Kellarn
Kellarn Stonekegg. Retired Regent of Brogendenstein, Runebinder and Cofounder of the Circle Guild. What has happend is a travesty of justice. Kellarn the victim of Terto's grudge allowed and continued by the thane and others who would stand for the rights of all the kin of Brogendenstein. The Right of free passage in our own land restricted by the thane and the self appointed gnome The same gnome allowed to insult and threaten the kin of these hall's The same gnome who now claims the Grate grotto of Brogendenstein as the old town of Blingstonhold. The same gnome who has done everything in his power to bring down the peaceful alliance that has helped the earthkin of this Isle for over a hundred years. Where is the respect for our brother and friend? Who of you would allow an outsider to insult you and your kin in your own home? Who of you would allow an outsider to threaten you or your kin in there home? Not I not ever . The queen claims she was protecting the gnome when she attacked Kellarn with others. The gnome was already dead. The gnome was warned not to come into the hearth and home and cast insult or threaten yet did so and was swiftly put down. Perhaps she shouldnt of invited him into are hearth and home knowing he would not behave in a proper manner. Where is the Justice for Kellarn?

Assassin sighting in mountainside village
A manlass calling herself "Cox the White-handed Assassin" spoke with me in the mountainside village today, claiming to wish to sell some adamantine ore. I refused to give her my own name, due to the contract the assassin's guild has on my life.
The lass is black of skin and white of hair (and hands, as her title suggests). She could be mistaken for a drow from a distance, but not when closely inspected. Her eyes glow red, and she has metal rings in her nose and ears.
She claimed to be a monk of some mannish god or order that she called Yurtrus. She was able to reach my side before I even knew that she was there, and even then only because she spoke to me.
The militia should be notified to watch diligently for a manlass of this description. This lass appears to be a more experienced fighter than the fool of a mannish assassin that I threw down the mountain last year. May the gods grant us vigilance.

On the matter of a new Warden
I think you will have heard by now, High Sonnlinor, that Reddok has stepped down from the Stone Council to accept a position in the Guldorand Guard. He has recommended Balagor' Stonebeard as his replacement.
Reddok's recommendation is good enough for me, but I would have you meet with him and afterward state your position on his suitability for Warden of these Halls.
Doili also speaks of his worth. As soon as you speak your approval, I am prepared to grant him the position of Warden.

Judgement on Krush's exile
Elder and members of the Stone Council--Krush Ironbelly SkullKrusher has spoken with me today to express a desire to return to these halls and be named our kin once more.
I responded to her that it was a matter for the council to decide, though I think we should hear testimony from elder Doili in addition to Krush's testimony, as it is he who most recently passed judgement on Krush, and sentenced her to her current exile.
As she has thrice denied her kinship to us, I have asked her to thrice prove her desire for redemption. As the first sign, she will present the testimony of her commander in the Hawk'in, where she has served for the past year.
For the second sign, she will present the testimony of Grimly Keglighter, if he will agree to present it. Krush must provide the third sign. When all of these things have been presented, then we will pass judgement on Krush once more.

Sketches and concept--Sheela Peryroyl shrine (3)
She is, of course, larger than life, but a hin on tiptoe could probably reach the outstretched palm to make an offering of coin. For larger offerings--the musical instruments and tokens of love which are also Sheela's due--a hin might be able to scamper up the Semberweed to reach her seedpot, or receive a boost from a partner.
* attached there are a series of notes, prominent among which are the separate, underlined and circled words "Plaque?", "Priest?", and "Festival?"
Detailed sketches, overall, cross-sections, down to the shape of the small spikes, accompany the description, and show Sheela at about seven feet tall, the trunk about nine feet tall, and the canopy about five feet tall, with a foot of overhang below the top of the trunk*

Sketches and concept--Sheela Peryroyl shrine (2)
The dark shiny green malachite contrasts with the pale opaque greenstone like the upper and lower surfaces of real leaves. The carving makes the already commonplace stones valueless as gems, even if one could remove them from the barbed spikes without destroying them. At the center of the statue, its focus, carved in pure white marble, stands Sheela Peryroyl, mid barefoot step, clothed in a simple peasant blouse and skirt with a rope belt, parting the curtain of oddly shaped Semberweed leaves. A somewhat engimatic smile graces her lips, and she wears in her hair a garland of woven daisies, the centers picked out in gold. She bends forward slightly, cradling in her left arm a seedpot of rough-textured tan-grey granite, while her right arm reaches forward, palm tilted up, scattering seed in the tree's shade. The seeds--in her hand, half-filling the pot, and on the ground--are crafted of bronze, standing out from the stone with a dark brown patina, and show occasional flecks of light green oxidation that might well be mistaken for either mold or the first signs of sprouting. From a middle distance, the seeds and pot are not easy to discern, and Sheela's pose would seem to reflect a curtseying woman extending her hand to a partner who had asked her to dance; from even further, the pose might seem more one of offering a helping hand up, or of stepping forward to seal a negotiation with a handshake.

Sketches and concept--Sheela Peryroyl shrine (1)
This large composite statue is a shrine to Sheela Peryroyl. The back and top of the statue depict the trunk and spreading limbs of a live oak, and from its limbs hangs what some call Semberweed or swampcurtain: chains of an almost mossy vegetation that thrives in humid temperate woodlands, conveying steamy mystery and poignant romance. The base of the statue is grey granite, heavily speckled with rusty brown patches and an occasional meandering vein of light blue: mostly rough-textured, it is carved to represent broken but untilled damp soil and patches of low ground-covering vegetation. The roots, trunk, and lower limbs of the tree are a single, massive bronze casting, realistically grooved, gnarled and knobby, the brown patina darker in the recesses and lighter on the outer surfaces, emphasizing the detailed metalwork. Atop the casting is a wider and slightly overhanging cap of green-tinged marble, carved largely in relief to make up the tree's upper branches and canopy of leaves. The Semberweed is formed by a shroud of dangling bronze ropes, with a flat medium brown patina and a great many clusters of tiny spikes, almost like a spiked chain. Over each barbed and baffled spike has been jammed a carved flake, sliver, or finger of malachite or greenstone, or a molded leaf of glass tinted with their dust.

Since we have made our crypts reachable, I would sugest the following Let us move all Urns and remains of our hero's who we must remember, ,to one of the chambers down in the crypts. We can close the chamber what we see as our burrial ground like we did befor, with pilars with engraved prayers to remember them Please take this question to the other elder and let us decide if that is legal and wise.

Council Corruption and Violence
After removing the permanent exile of the widely known Banite Grendal Bloodwater by the use of illegally retained writs, Councilors Elizabeth Eliphelet and Isobella Kirin were charged with violation of council laws by Commander Harthglen. In response, the two Councilors attempted to change the violated laws with more illegal writs.
Upon charges, both Councilors fled Cordor, and removed the sum of 500,000 from the Cordor Treasury. Within a few days, Elizabeth Eliphelet returned to Cordor with Azyrah Melharoun of the Arcane tower, a small force of Banites, a handful of others, and her househould Guard Samantha Wolfheart and Ashara Aralakh.
Elizabeth and her army then proceeded to threaten anyone present with violence if they did not leave, and immediately murdered Commander Harthglen, Roberts of the Navy, and numerous bystanders in full view of Lord Vetinari's personal scribe.
Upon slaughtering everyone in the room, Elizabeth sent one of her accomplices to inform the Banite Anne Thrule of her new position of Commander of the Cordor Guard.

Hey big guy, I'm hoping to speak to you soon about a meeting of island leaders taking place in a couple weeks (Sat, April 18th, 4:00pm EST). The idea is everyone come to some agreement and plan to deal with Wicket as a whole and not everyone working on their own. I can explain things more when I see you. Hope to talk to you soon.

You have sided with the Evil of Bane and allowed them here and encurage them. The laws of the dale were here before you. You dont get to pick and choose what you wish to enforce and what you decide to ignore. These Laws have been in place long before I was Thane of Brogendenstein. Sideing with openly evil is agenst everythign the Dale and Brogendenstein were founded on. Had the Hawken and the rest of the kin here taken action on its own there would be no reason for I Doili Troff to do this but when earthkin come to me discusted by your actions im forced to take a stand. Perhaps Sasha Silverscails can infourm you of what your going wrong seeing its her law your breaking and wanting to cast aside. Perhaps you can convence her your actions are not evil.
