The settlement of Blingstonhold is extremely old, even by the standards of the region.
This rusted relic, ‘The Shield of Blingstonhold’, is in actual fact a shaft cover from the first excavation made by the svirfneblin at the time of the settlement’s original construction.
Carvings upon the surface reveal much of the daily life, and difficulties faced by the original settlers, in particular against a tribe of kobolds it names as the ‘Sevateem’ in service to a long dead dragon, Orias.
After the fall of the Sevateem a statue of this great wyrm was taken by the svirfneblin, the theft of which is detailed on this shield, just as the statue itself remains on display elsewhere in Blingstonhold
