*A beautiful half page of sepia watercolour illustration. A moderately sized room is neatly laid out with display cases and furniture all in perfect order. The writing desk in the centre of the room is perhaps the only outlier, its stacked papers and various seals and writing implements; though not a complete disaster, suggest a space continually in use. A drow is laying on a raised bed-chair as a small Mephit and a huge Bone-Golem perform some sort of operation or procedure on her. The Fleshcrafter-Golem, its huge rib cage seemingly housing a smaller bone-spider-apparatus is lined with infernal script. The smaller spider-apparatus has several "arms" that end in various surgical and bio-artistic tools extended and "engaging" with the "patient".*

LOCAL EVENTS AND RUMOURS!!

After last months mysterious and aggressive fungal spread, seemingly only slowed in its advance by the focused might of the sharps Military (Militia?), who could have guessed the Hub's next standouts?? If however by some miracle of premonition or just plain old damned dirty scrying you guessed Rats and Vampires well then you are far more prescient than this humble author...

VAMPIRES in the Underdark? Could this be somehow connected to the lack of direct sunlight here? And if so, does that explain their sudden "boldness"?? Or perhaps, they have found a new, more stable source of their ghastly aqua vitae? Could there be a connection to the sudden influx of RATS as well? Are the vampires who are now having to spend far less time cowering from the deadly orb in the sky, able to finally cultivate and perhaps even arcano-engineer a new breed of "super blood" rat? Or could it be the rats who have enslaved the vampires?? And what of the rumours of a Goblin being enthralled if not fully turned??? It Seems Super-Goblin-Vampire-Blood-Rats may already be among us!! Only time will tell!!

EVENTS&PEOPLE!!

Greyport's "Obstacle Course" event sure made an impact, or two in early Eleint!! In fact there were so many hellballs, Summoned dragons, exploding barrels and rookies raining random bombard shells that residents of The Table were noted as complaining that even they could "feel the nauseating rumble of mirth". The winner, one "Victor Green" of no fixed abode is assumed to be using his winnings on a decent bed and heaven forbid perhaps even a hot bath!!

The inimitable playwright "Moira Orseeva" Stunned audiences once again with a flawless performance of her new play "The Prophecy of Thayd". One expects no less from such an intelligent, elegant and poised creature!! This author, by unfortunate scheduling mishap, arrived in Dis to locked Penthouse doors. Though I did quite enjoy some of the afterparty at the new Cloven Hoof.

And Greyport bookends the month with a "Team Trivia" event. A barrage of "how well do you know your teammate?" type questions were heaved at the contestants and all present learned much about each other. If any contestants desired anonymity or privacy that's gone now!! The Sh'yalva's team led by the Matron of the house of course vanquished all competitors and took top spot. It was "Szordrin Sh'yalva" however who stole everyone's hearts apparently as he got the most votes for who the contestants would marry. Does the UnderDark have a new "Most Eligible Bachelor"?? And what of the smoldering embers of passion from the team of "Eldin" and "Sybel"?
