A Public Notice Regarding the Threat of Ghostfire

Sibayad,

Reports from neighboring cities confirm that Captain Krakscragger's forces have employed the devastating weapon known as Ghostfire. This is a corrupted flame that seeks to consume the very soul and taint the flesh of its victims. The Lantern of Mercy Clinic is issuing this notice to aid all citizens in protecting themselves from this grave threat. Prepare yourselves and your communities.

PREPARE YOURSELF 

We ask all who can to gather and contribute the following supplies. The Lantern of Mercy will purchase these items from you, but donations are a welcomed act of charity. Supplies can be brought to the clinic directly, or to Priestess Lora Thendry. For those unable to reach the clinic, you may also deliver supplies to any Arbiter or city official.

SUPPLIES:

1) Thick hides or tanned leather (to be soaked in holy water)

<br>3) Yarrow, mint spear, and honey
<br>4) Wands of Protection from Evil, Death Ward, and Negative Energy Protection

PROTECT YOURSELF

If you face the enemy and must protect yourself from this vile flame, cast the following spells upon yourself:

1) Protection from Evil

Extinguishing Ghostfire

To douse Ghostfire and stop its spread, use a thick hide or tanned leather that has been soaked in holy water. If holy water is not available, use sanctified salt dissolved in water.

CALLING ALL HEALERS

Priestess Lora Thendry will train sessions healers who wish to learn how to treat injuries inflicted by Ghostfire. The corruption of the soul requires a specialized approach. Please report to the Lantern of Mercy Clinic and speak with Priestess Thendry to arrange your training or leave a message on the board.

INITIAL TREATMENT:

1) Cleanse the wound with blessed water.
<br>2) Cast Remove Disease or Remove Curse.
<br>3) Cast Lesser Restoration.
<br>4) Cast Gentle Repose.

HEALING INJURY:

1) Anoint a cooling balm of yarrow, mint spear, and honey to the wound.
<br>2) Apply a healing bandage. Cast Cure Wounds or a Healing Circle, but only after the wound has been properly cleansed.
<br>3) Recheck the patient for a recurring chill or a dull grey hue, which may indicate residual corruption.

FINAL WORD OF CAUTION

The Ghostfire feeds on fear and dismay. When treating or comforting the wounded, speak calmly and softly. Let them hear the sound of life and hope in your voice. Quiet, gentle prayer can also serve to dull the flame's power.
